Offline English Dictionary

I absolutely love this dictionary app, more than any of the others that I've used in the past. I like that it also includes slang, and idioms. Being a frequent reader, I refer to the app on a daily basis. I only have one small complaint/suggestion. It pronounces the words too fast, in my opinion. Sometimes the word blurs together when listening to the pronunciation. For example, the word 'contrasexual', sounds like 'contras-chill' to me. Thank you kindly.

I loved the app but after the update the definitions don't appear on the screen when I search words. it just appear blank and that's disappointing

i like this app but in the new update you have remove british and American pronunciation or accent. please add American and British Voice. I don't like that Indian voice pronunciation.

very good app and so useful but the sections about review and myvocab don't work. when I click on them the app bug then automatically quit. I Even tried to clean cash but anything changed

Good at all but I would like if you could add an option for adding this dictionary in moon reader+ application.

I am very pleased with this dictionary app. Had to replace free Oxford Dictionary which had drastically limited daily searches rendering itself useless to a non-native speaker such as myself. Glad it's Canadian as that variant is much closer to British than American. Adds are rare&short and do not bother me at all. In fact, that solution seems perfectly fair to me. I look up all sorts of words, archaic and modern, so far there has not been one that has not been found. Well done. Thank you.

In fact, you don't need to go anywhere else. This is the best dictionary you would ever find. It provides you with every single detail of the word searched ( including the part of speech ). It even gives you the US and UK pronunciation of the word. In fact, this dictionary has really helped me a lot and boosted my English a lot. Even as a teacher, I can't teach without using Vocapture. I have come across different dictionary applications but non like Vocapture. I would really recommend this app.

Look no further! This is the best. This dictionary is soooo simplified and has most words other dictionaries don't have and so makes learning for me a whole lot easier. Try it, I recommend. Though, it has one issue- it doesn't differenciate between British and American pronunciations until I go to my phone's settings and do it manually. I mean, the buttons are already there but I have to go all the way to my phone's settings to do it. I think this issue should be resolved soonest. Many thanks.

It is a wonderful app that works without internet and no excess ads. It gives all different meanings and forms of a word. Just by clicking on any word in a definition you can head to its separate definition which comes very handy. All this in non-paid version! I prefer to keep my use of internet minimum for both environmental reasons and it helps to focus on real life better. I'm so thankful to you people for it. It just lacks in pronounciations then it would've been an app complete in itself.

I like the app, but is there a way to save my bookmarks to my Gmail in case something happens to my phone?

I'm completely in love with this dictionary. It provide me longest range of words, not only words but idioms too. It's best of all I have ever used. But I liked the app colour(dark blue) much than what they provide after updation(orange). Please help me to get that colour back. That was more satisfying. Thanks to Vocapture Team for their efforts.

This app is very useful and helpful. It not only tells you the meaning, it provides synonyms, antonyms, hypernyms and coordinate terms where applicable. it also gives you a brief history where there's one. And if you find a word that you do not understand in the definition of another word, all you need to do is click on the confusing word, and it directs you to its own meaning. Really great feature, I must say. Edit: My in-app thesaurus is no longer functional, even after updating.

Been a great dictionary with variety of definitions, etymologies, slangs, etc. The data base was updated recently and dark background, choice of colours were added. GREAT! But upon doing my word searches I was disappointed. For instance, when I put in boat, I'd see boatman, boatswain, boat woman, etc. I'd go to boat, see definition, click back arrow, return to boat listing, choose another boat term... That's not happening now. When I click it goes back to a, beginning of dictionary. YUK!

I love this dictionary, simply because it's free, it defines a word in terms easy to understand, it has sentence examples for each searched word, also gives an etymology of each word, making you know better how the word came about or was coined. I just love it, best dictionary I've used so far, thumbs up to you guys, for the ads, well, they are tolerable.

A great app and comprehensive in nature. You find virtually all words, phrases, etc, with etimology, good explanation and much more. It's one of the best dictionaries on play store, but better than most of them. Thumb up for the developer.

This app is the best dictionary app I've ever used so far. but, it has the following issues: 1. when clicking the speech button it usually delays 3-8 seconds before pronouncing the word. 2. I can't share a word that I selected from a website or a book to this app. that's mostly how I use these kinds of apps for me this is a better way than opening the app and searching for the word that I want to know.

The app is really easy and fast to use. But the search bar is broken, I think. Whenever there is a space after the word searched, the results don't show up. Please, fix it. It is annoying to delete that after typing auto-completion.

This is a really great app for learning meanjng of English words, which in turn has helped me improve my vocabulary. The app also helps me pronounce a word appropriately, and shows the difference between British and American articulation. Also, the app allows me see my previous searches (vocabs) easily and the offline version works well for me. This dictionary not only provide meaning of words but meaning of idioms, too. Thanks to the team for putting this together.

Great dictionary app, one of the best I've used, but I don't like that it requires internet. I mean, it's literally called 'Offline English Dictionary' — it's supposed to be offline. At first, I was worried I was the only user with this issue, but it turns out others have the same problem as well. Please, make the app offline so it can actually live up to its name.

every time I open a word the screen flashes white which is very disturbing
