Old Movies Hollywood Classics

The ads not interrupting the movies is great, there's lots of movie genres and, silent, black and white, or color to choose from. I haven't run into any bugs in the interface or problems with playing the movies either. The only thing I wish was better is the incision of more foreign films too. I hope that a few more will be added in the future, it'll add some nice variety.

Amazed at the clarity of these restorations on my small phone screen. I'm trying to catch up on lots of films made before I was born. It would be nice if you could add a feature to allow them to be sorted chronologically as well as by the other categories, so I can watch them by the Decade. PS.: I don't care about personalization, but if socal features means sharing, then yes, I'd like to do that. Please add another category: Ones Watched (? Date optional) so they can come off my Starred list.

This is right up my alley: they are constantly adding movies from multiple eras and genres; and let you access obscure and rarely seen classics, as well as more well known fare.. the films are not interrupted by ads: that would be, for me, a deal breaker. There's something for everyone. The app is nicely laid out and it's easy to scroll down the list of films on offer, to find one you like Very glad I found it. Simple and easy to use ; a film buff's delight.

Awesome!!!!!... So I found this app today. I watched 2 movies one from the 30s and one from the 40s. I streamed to my TV from my Note 8. No issues. No adds during either movie.I will buy the premium version, only $8. Can't go wrong. It's easier to find a movie I want to see than on Netflix (which I love)or other streaming apps I've used. Plus they are free. I may not ever pay to rent a movie again! There are so many I already plan to watch. Arranged by genre. Again AWESOME!! Great find.

Update 02/2022: With the recent addition of a caption option, this app is now perfect. Nice selection of vintage movies. Streams well on Chromecast and doesn't charge to cast as so many other streaming apps do. Ads are in the beginning of the movie only, so content isn't interrupted. My only request would be to add a caption option. As a senior who has become dependent on supplementing audio with subtitles, I'm sure that others of my generation would appreciate it as well.

So far it's all good, it works like it's supposed to. Many months later... It's still working great, there are one or two ads at the beginning, your movie starts, and no ads ever interrupt your movie, which is free, I have read a couple reviews that are complaining about ads and that doesn't make any sense. You are watching an ad or two, and then the movie starts and continues uninterrupted. What's not to like? Free weird old movies!

AD FREE experience! Good starting catalog of older films; the app is intuitive, simple to use and seems to run well. In the movie description, the main actors and director are hyperlinked to IMDB, in case you'd like to learn more about them, which is a little nice extra. Sure, the majority of these films are already on YouTube, but this app is so smooth, easy and fast that it makes for a superior viewing platform. Well done, developers!

The list of movies is good. But when I clicked on one it popped up an ad that ran on and on. Fair enough, it had to be paid for some way. Then back to the page where I had selected the movie and nothing. I tried again and got another long ad for an app I didn't want. As a programmer who spent to much time fixing other programmers unintentional infinite do-loops I am not amused by intentional ones.

I really love this app. The movies are good ones. The ads are minimal. Also, in the information about the movie, if you click on the link to a person's name it goes right to IMDb where you can read about the person. If you like old movies, this is the app for you. They are regularly adding more movies also. 2023 Lately it has a lot of trouble loading and takes a long time, so I've taken off a couple of stars.

There are so many movies that i have spent 3 evenings looking at titles and previewing scenes . Every catagory , even the quirky 1950s horror movies. I havent reached the end . I do have a glitch , maybe me. When the movie starts , after credits , it jumps to a movie add. I have a challenge getting it to start movie on first try. Thanks for collecting these movies.

Found some movies could not find any where else. Option to use actor's name brilliant! Might not remember exact name of movie but if available will show up under actor's name. Had to watch a movie 3 times before no skips and crisp picture. Gave up those first 2x but the 3rd time was worth it. My big problem is "B" movies not my thing. I find certain actors interest me more. Thank you for the ones I enjoy and the response to this review which was extremely helpful.

Same problem as Stephen above; used to work great on my LG Smart TV (I was playing it through Air TV box). Now can get to the description of the movies but no longer activate the 'play movie' box no matter what combination of directional arrows are pressed. Have not changed any of my hardware/software, it's something different with the app now. bummer.

SO SAD! USED to love this app. Used to be ad free. Now, every time I open it or even once it's open, I get this stupid ad that you can't get out of!! And it's the exact same ad every time! I don't mind an ad or two but this ad freezes your phone up & there's no way to get to the movies! This went from being the best old movie app to THE WORST!! Uninstalling 🙁

At last, a video app for old movies that has everything I've been looking for! It offers me great silent films like "The Gold Rush," and "Metropolis," through the transition to sound and color films like "State Fair" and "Ensign Pulver." Navigation features like genres: Action to Westerns. Included are My Movies, Latest, and Search. It used to not BUG users for Reviews... I had to deduct yet another Star for continuing to annoy me for ratings... which they're apparently NOT going to stop doing.

I like the movies that are available, and the fact that there is not Graphic Violence, no Nudity, no Foul Language So—Far with the Old Movies that I have watched. I also like that the paid version (Without Advertisements) is very affordable. The only drawback, which is it takes a long while to load the app. Tell me why it takes so long to load, or correct this issue on the Free App and I'll give Five (5) Stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Five also, if the reason makes sense to me.

I really enjoy old/classic movies. This is one of my favorite apps. I have watched handfuls of wonderful movies on this app and I'm going to watch a whole lot more, for free. You won't get unwanted commercials in the middle of your movie's either. They consistently add new and diverse selections. Thanks, old movies. You're the bees knees!

The app doesn't work for me. I like to fall asleep watching old movies on my phone. Because I can't orient the phone my way, I accidentally stop the film; and then, it restarts from the beginning. The app never restarts where you left off, and does not tell you what movies you were watching, or have already watched. ALL of the films in the app are from YouTube, and are only a small portion of what YouTube actually offers. Just YouTube, which I can orient and restart, is perfectly adequate for me.

Really Great Old Movies! This app houses a wonderful catelog of old movies. In the mood for classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s? Or, maybe movies from the early days of silent films? You'll find plenty to watch on the Old Movies app. I like the Library feature. I can select and store movies in my Library to watch at a later time. My most favorite feature of the Old Movies app is that it's FREE! Check it out and I think you'll agree. After all, you've got nothing to loose! ☺️

Just downloaded the app and was pleasantly surprised how many older movies were available to view here. I opted to buy the year long subscription because I could spend more than that price tag on one trip through a fast food drive-thru meal order. Thank you for offering this Old Movies app to us all. PS, I dumped my DirecTV subscription back in March 2021. Saving $188 a month. This app is one of my trade offs for that budget decision.
