OPENLANE Buyer

I have bought ALL my vehicles on here for the last 5 years, 920 and counting. Really have enjoyed doing business with them since they were Backlot Cars now Openlane. If you go to the auction most all of those cars are run red light nowadays but Openlane gives you 7 days or 100 miles on covered items. Its the used car business and of course you will hit bumps in the road but I wouldnt want to buy cars anywhere else honestly!

new issue, it says theres over 900 cars but shows only 15 ! Also the app was running perfectly fine for years, until someone decided to think and turned everything for the worse. So when browsing through the car list, if you enter a car’s details and then return to the list, it automatically brings you back to the top of the list instead of where you left off. For the development department or personal, please don't think again because your update is bad and the app is way slower than before.

USED CAR DEALERS WATCH OUT !!!!They use to let you make comments about your experience you had with the selling dealer which they REMOVED why? because they are protecting the new car store so can continue to sell you used car dealers BAD AUTOS!! even eBay allows comments on ANY product. it's designed to screw over the independent dealer. there coders are fraudulently are placing bids for dealers they DID NOT DO !! a class action lawsuit needs to be done against them

New update is terrible. Can not reject offers from app. UPDATE 9/18/25 APP IS STILL TERRIBLE!

In app the search filter options do not work. You narrow down location it shows vehicles all over. You narrow down price it shows all price ranges etc. Very buggy very difficult to use. The only times I've ever used it to bid, resulted in negative experiences such as my bid being canceled and being outbid for something I should've been the top bidder for.

This is a good company to do business with. But im a real car dealer I've been doing it for over 30yrs. The arbitration department has always been fair with me but I only deal with them over real problems every car I buy at any auction has its share of problems if you're not willing to accept that get in the new car business. If you don't want to do that get you a shop and about 3 mechanics and get in the used car business. Fix them right get you a reputable reputation and sell them for a profit

Not nearly enough New car dealers selling trades. The ones that listing trades still want top dollar for their lame and stale inventory and their junk. They are selling all their clean trades offline. There is no timeline for when the auction ends so you are left guessing when you may or may not get a car. Then there are random junk dealers in podunk towns listing their entire inventory looking for a sucker to bid on 7 owner 4 accident rides. Should be called "Junklot" for salvage dealers.

Watch out for police changes that you have to agree to immediately or can not continue to the app. The company is looking for new ways to get buyers to pay more money. Back button always wants you to sign out that is annoying also.

Searching is easier than before. The only thing i hate now is that it shows the spinning circle every now and then while i search for cars. In my opinion, ACV is a way friendly and better app than openlane.

App makes it very difficult to look at cars. Every time I click on a car and then try to go back to the search, it scrolls all the way to the top of the list and I have to find where I was again.

I just got on here to request a buy it now filter and I saw the new update. The app works very well. Could we please get a better search format and engine and/or transmission issue/ no issue filter? Thanks!

Worst app to buy a car, stay away feom this app if ypu dont want to loose a lot money, playstote should remove this app from the store, bought a car 3 months ago still waiiting for the title, they dont want the car back, they dont want to produce a title.....

Dealers, listen to the cautionary tales and stay away. From our experience I can only conclude that their inspectors are either getting spiffed by the selling dealers or instructed by Openlane to not disclose problems with the cars in the inspection reports. Then the company hides behind their convoluted and constantly changing policies to avoid standing behind the promised guarantees. You will get burned, consistently, if you make the mistake of buying vehicles through this company.

We were responsible for their mistake!!! Backlot title department misplaced a form and claimed never received even after proof, we fixed the issue yet vehicle was arbitrated for 45 days absent title BacklotCars fault they were quick to take the money out of the bank account Can't talk to no one. We are the money, the vehicle and we might pay tlfor transportation. Same on you BacklotCars after selling more than 60 cars on your app that's how we treated

The whole model of backlot seems as if they are frauding the dealers to buy a faulty vehicle. Even their inspectors seems to know not to report some issues. Have to be very careful while bidding. Also the $6k+ plus arbitration is ridiculous.

Too many bugs now it doesn't show transport cost only when I check out!! sometimes screen goes blank when going back to previous page..

Do not use this company arbitration is horrible.. they will not arbitrate on cars that they say that are perfect they will give you a very hard time if so and it's fairly new this company will probly sink has a junk policy and arbitration rules. Have random dealers selling their junk on there please stay away from them dealers you will have a hard time with them there are way better dealer auctions than this.talking from a dealer experience plz do not use them

***WARNING*** avoid this app. Avoid this company. Terrible service. Very slow response over price cars. Not enough inventory. Poor inspections. Lost out on cars because of slow response from company resentative.

Doesn't get past the "splash" screen for a couple of months already. That makes it hard for me to bid on cars, not a good thing for an auction.

Slow response times. Bidding can get convoluted. Don't know when an auction will end. Traderev was better.
