I noticed that the browser often crashes when I go back to a previous webpage. Annoying, but if you have your settings tuned to continue where you left off it isn't a big problem. Webpages also do not load unless I scroll a bit to the bottom. Aside from bugs, I do wish that the app had more connectivity to the browser counterpart. Letting users connect their GX account to the app for bookmarks, history and passwords would be nice. UI is clean and mods are neat. Just buggy and bare bones.
Ad blocker and pop-up blocker don't want to work right and still let them through. Trying to read manga so certain sites can be annoying because of all the pop-ups and ads it's supposed to block also the connect to PC doesn't want to work anymore and no matter how many times I try it does not want to connect. Other than that it's ok for the phone. On the PC is a lot better.
I'm enjoying the app along with the browser on PC. My problem is that even if you connect both the PC and your phone with each other, you still have to manually enter the passwords on mobile, it doesn't really transfer. It feels fast, but also has a weird time loading images. In addition it's been a pain trying to transfer my mobile chrome to mobile Opera as well, since I have to do it manually. Hopefully after they work it out I can do a full transfer. Since Chrome is going to stop ad blocks.
I was really hoping that I would be able to just swap back and forth between my phone and computer seamlessly. That's almost the entire point of Flow. But here's one major thing missing: Bookmarks. I cannot access the bookmarks I made on PC through the mobile app. Looking into it, that just seems to be how it works. The majority of other browsers that have an app version let you access those bookmarks easily. Im going to have to switch away until that gets added. A complete deal breaker for me
While I do love this browser, PC just being better. Either you are scamming or misleading people or something. You have a whole category of console games which are labeled "free" yet when you go to them, every single one has a price attached to it, I've got the screenshots to prove this as well. I'm pretty sure that doing something like that has to be illegal. Don't add a FREE label to items which are not free to obtain. Something very sketchy is going on with you guys and it needs to stop now
The desktop/laptop version of this browser is amazing, and a must-have. It's my default browser now, and I recommend you switch right now. I'm hoping they will build out the mobile version to match the desktop version because it's lacking big time with how it currently is. All the best features are missing, and I don't even see a way to connect your Opera account or transfer your bookmarks and all that. Actually, I don't even see a bookmark tab at all. It's just really bare bones currently.
This app and Browser is amazing! I have used it on PC and Android for a couple months now and its a great experience. The mobile version has some issues though. Its missing many features from the PC version. The main one that I can't live without is bookmarks! I switched from Chrome and I need to be able to save, edit, and access my bookmarkes/bookmarked websites from both my phone and PC. I understand your team is working hard to add features. Please make this a TOP priority and I'll be happy!
Very cool app. I've had no problems. It's a very well designed and built web browser, and useful for when I have to transfer files from my phone to my PC or vice-versa. However, my only problem is that the adblock doesn't work properly, and I have to refresh to get rid of the ad(s), kind of disappointed that the PC version of this browser has a way better built-in adblock. Other than that, this is an 8/10 for me, would recommend.
Was hoping to use this as my primary browser, but it lacks the ability to sync everything that the main competition does. "My Flow" is a nice start, but I'd love a 100% seamless experience (with an account) in the same way Chrome offers. Bookmarks, history, and saved form data should be available everywhere. I was super disappointed when I went to go grab a bookmark I knew I had saved at home but didn't have that option. Keeping it as a backup mobile browser for now as I'm sure it will improve!
I love the style and appearance. However it would be really nice and much more favorable if you can sign into it like the PC counterpart and make it sync everything from the PC onto the phone like bookmarks, speed dial, and settings, etc. But over all it has a handful of cool features like ad blocking, VPN browsing, and shared pages from PC to phone.
This app is good, it really is. But sometimes it can get really frustrating when it comes to scrolling. Sometimes the keyboard will appear out of nowhere while scrolling (I'm on Android by the way) sometimes I even clicked on search by accident on the keyboard, making me lose my progress and go all the way to the beginning of the search. Or it'll pop up and I have to click away from the keyboard or click back multiple times because it'll keep popping up. If you could, fix this please?
I love the fast navigation button and the dark theme and color options. But, it has never blocked cookie dialogue boxes even though it's been set to do so since day 1. Also, you cannot open links in external apps if using private window, and you can't open links (clicked outside of browser) in private windows. I can in Firefox, so my default browser has changed. Some sites are unreadable with dark pages on. Hope I can make GX default again in the future.
I'd love to make this my primary browsing app—the controls are pretty intuitive and the app runs smoothly. But the inability to change font size is pretty annoying (I read a lot), and it's weird that the app lacks such a basic function. It'd be cool if we could get tab groups like in chrome, too. But really: font size changing. Please.
Honestly I'd use this for a really long time since I'm a gamer but since it doesn't save data from one browser to another, it's kinda throwing me off, but shortcuts are amazing but I would like a little "X" on the top right corner of a website your on, so if you wanna close it fast just click the little "X". "Btw opera GX is the best"
So much better than using google for everything! You can have the google engine without the weird targeted ads the next day or the bloatedness from the popups and ads. I would say, for GX specifically, it's hard to get bookmarks and stuff imported, so if they made it easier it'd be perfect. It takes a little getting used to at first but after you live with it for a week you can just breeze through it like second nature. There's no lag when I scroll, no taking extra long to load, nothing.
I really love the app! I've never seen a feature like flow anywhere else. My only problem is that the ad block isn't strong enough, and there are no mobile extensions. I really want to switch over from Firefox, but without access to extensions, or atleast a better ad blocker, I don't think I'll be able to use Opera GX as my main browser.
Has someone who was recommended this browser, I can easily say I prefer over every other browser. I get so much more control while I am browsing, and it has some impressive details for personalization. I've always hated Google Chrome, I was a Firefox user as long as I can remember. And sure the other browsers have easier compatibility with a lot of websites, and the occasional glitch / crash if you 'abuse' the browser window. A very unique, user friendly browser. Never going back lol.
As a gamer, this browser is definitely my new go-to. The ad blocking is great , with incredibly fast browsing speed . You also still get to choose whatever browser you want, like Google, duck duck go, etc. The customization is amazing 👏. My only 2 complaints are that I feel like I have to go back through all my pages just to get back to the main browser page. Also, the standard navigation feels faster to me than the actual fast action button, and it kind of gets in my way on certain sites.
Great browser, but the interface may need some working on. There's also no way to see and click text boxes at the bottom of the screen. Also, it can't open other applications without getting an "Intent to open app" error. Thank you, OperaGX, for making a great mobile gaming browser. Thanks for your reply! I meant when you interact with text boxes at the bottom of the screen, you can't see the text because the keyboard blocks it. and when you try to open an app from Opera, sometimes it breaks.
Consider using the non-GX, non-Mini browser app instead. That browser's ad blocker seems to actually work (particularly on YouTube) and the browser has more customization options, such as opening certain tabs on start and custom backgrounds. It also has the VPN features from the desktop browsers, while this app does not. If a simplified browser is desired, Opera Mini may do just as well, if not more.
