This app was amazing back when it was "Digit." Now, they're sure to charge your account the subscription fee every month but hasn't saved a single dollar for me since they switched over. I used to love this app, so I attempted to reach out for help resolving the problem, but they dont respond. The service that had been promised is not the service that's being given which is grounds for a dispute. I reached out to them 1 last time to request a refund on every month that I'd been charged.
I've used this account for over five years. Three years ago, withdrawals ceased, and I forgot my app password. I recently recovered it and logged in again. They claimed they couldn't access my bank account to make withdrawals, yet they continued charging me $5 monthly, amounting to nearly $200, and failed to withdraw funds to meet my goals. This raised my suspicion that the app isn't reliable.
love it but right now on my s24U it looks ridiculous, numbers are missing, letters from words are missing, my goals are out of order, I can't see anything that I've deposited in or taken out, its more problematic than helpful, I tried taking out 19 bucks but because it won't register the 3rd digit??? I ended up taking out 199 and it comes out faster than it manually goes in so this sucks tbh, please update.
Edit: I love this app... When it works. My account is connected but after just a couple transfers it stops working. I've done my due diligence to ensure Plaid and my bank are connected and nothing is stopping the transfers. I've had nothing but issues since the name change. No idea if that has correlation, but it's frustrating. I absolutely love this app. It lets me adjust how much it takes out easily and I'm saving money without even knowing it. Best app I've downloaded all year.
The app had potential when I was first introduced to it. But the monthly fee is a waste. You can save in a $5 minimum account at any credit union and its a one time deposit not a monthly reoccurring charge. The app isn't all bad, if you have a hard time saving money on your own. But this app isn't a good fit for me. If they had a free option I would seriously consider it.
Jury's still out. The goal setting functions are great, and so is being able to see how much you saved every day. What I don't love is the algorithm - it started with a reasonable amount and just keeps going up aggressively each day. When does it adjust, when your account is at zero?? I know I can set limits, but I was hoping to watch it do its thing. So far it has just increased exponentially. Also I'm a little weirded out by feeling like my money is trapped in the app for days at a time.
I would really, really love to give this app 5 stars, but the deposit issue makes that difficult. I get needing to wait the first couple of deposits, but after that it should be no problem. I contacted my bank to find out why they made the wait. They informed me it wasn't on their end. It is on Oportun's end. I don't understand the need to hold my money so long. Otherwise, it's an amazing app.
This was a truly disappointing app. I found the interface clumsy and limiting. I also could not find any way to add more than just a single checking account. Other apps I've used are far better laid out and can manage multiple checking, savings, and credit card accounts. Additionally, you pay a monthly fee for what amounts to a text message each day with your checking account balance. I canceled the service while I was still in the first free month.
I started using digit a year ago. It works well once it gets set up & it's easy to set up new goals/edit them. One of my favorite parts of the app was that it sent me a text every morning saying various things such as, "Howdy Tyler! Your checking balance today is 25.00!" However, my main gripes are: 1. They charge $5.00 a month which I don't think it told me at first. 2. Trying to cancel my subscription was ridiculous. There was about 7 buttons I had to press trying to get me to NOT cancel. 4/5⭐
Digit is severely missed. Oportun took over Digit savings app and it's not the same. The app has a different design, which makes it take longer to see the info you want to see. They also charge double the price with NO additional benefits. Currently working on closing my accounts because it's not worth it anymore. Used to get withdrawals within 1-3 business days and now I'm lucky if it's 3-5.
I've been using Digit since 2019 and used to absolutely love it. It has helped me pay down my credit card to almost nothing. However, now they've stopped making the payments directly to my credit card, and instead, only allow you to redeposit what you've already withdrawn, so you can make the payment yourself. I thought that was the point of digit? If I have to do it, why bother with your app anymore?
No idea what this app is actually for. Says there's a $5 subscription fee after the free trial, but what is the app charging for? When I signed up and linked my bank, the only thing the app does is show my account balance and previous transactions, and has the option to set a "savings goal"? All it does is remind you "Hey! You wanted to save $x by xx/xx/xx!". Absolutely 0 reason to spend the $5/mo on this app when you could literally just set a weekly reminder in your calendar app for free.
The app was great until it start experiencing a connection issue with my bank. It's not up to speed with my actual bank balance and it takes WAAAAAAY too long to deposit money to and from my account. I really need to withdraw money but I can't because that still hasn't appeared in my goals. Now I'm having trouble logging in. I've tried resetting my password and reinstalling the app. But I still get the "Not able to login" message. I'm seriously on the brink of deleting this app!!!
It was very useful, AT FIRST. I thought "wow, Im saving so much!" Then for some reason digit wouldnt update my account balance causing overdrafts, even with overdraft protection on. It continued to take money from my account without letting me know. I opted for the msg updates and didnt get anything regarding how much money was being transferred like I had in the first couple of weeks. Seems unstable and too risky for me.
Definitely a fantastic savings app! However, I wish there was a way to set an overall maximum deposit from your bank. You can set a limit for each savings account, but sometimes digit gets carried away and will get close to your maximum, in each category. Also, if I withdraw from Digit, it will then will make large deposits for a few days after the withdraw. I obviously needed that money lol. Why would it take it right back? 😄 I definitely like to have talks with my Digit like, calm down!
Digits was amazing! Once they switched, it went downhill fast! There are days, such as today, where the app doesn't even open (freezes on Oportun screen) and I can't see or access my money. That's scary when I can't have access to my own money! No longer has the short summary on top that tells you how the money that was taken out that day was allocated & they're taking our way too much money everyday! Will be looking for another app ASAP!!!
I love this app. I've saved so much money using it. Unfortunately it repeatedly asks me to sign in to my bank account like there's a glitch. I un-installed and reinstalled, still not fixed. I finally closed the app hoping to start over brand new but it's saying my closure is still pending so I can't log in. It's been weeks since I closed it. I'm really sad that I can't access it anymore and I was unsuccessful in fixing the glitch.
I usually forget that I even have the APP, THAT is how little the withdrawals are. I LOVE IT! Every few months I'll be struggling before a paycheck and when I check my Digit account I'm ALWAYS amazed at how much is there. It adds up faster than you think and I can't even count how many times it has saved me from paying a $30 late fee with its overdraft protection option, it will put exactly enough to cover your butt, I mean that right there is worth the $5 a month!! BTW I NEVER do comments!!
While at first I found digit quite useful, over time I realized how many things just don't work very well. The overdraft/low account doesn't work at all based on how many days it takes for the money to transfer back. Also, the constant disconnect from the bank. The most recent disconnect, digit asked to reconnect but instead disconnected completely, is transferring money back in 3 days, then asking for a new bank account to start over. Complete waste of time!
Very simple online savings account. There is a fee to use it but it's minimal (like $3 a month I think) and it lets you separate savings goals. What I really like is I don't have to do much because it figures out an amount that you won't notice is gone and moves it from your bank account to this savings account. It also lets you set a limit so that it won't touch your account if it's under that certain limit. I haven't been using it for very long but so far really happy with it.
