For the past 24+ hours, the app no longer works on Samsung tablets. It worked fine, now the app only works on my phone for TV, it only gives me the round "loading symbol" on my tablets. For the ridiculous amount of money I pay, fix it! Other companies are here, and for what it's worth, either LOWER not HIGHER my bill, or a loss of many.
If I could rate this less I would. They replaced a decent, mostly functioning app with this dysfunctional garbage. With the remote it's impossible to use the number pad to get to the channel I want due to the lag between the app and my cable box, and the most important part of the app, managing the DVR, doesn't work. There's an error message directing you to the website for that, but if that were an option I wouldn't be using the app. If you can't make this one work bring the old one back.
H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!!!! Freezes all the time, cannot watch a 30 min show without it freezing several times. Developer said it's because device isn't close enough to the router. That's BS. 1)it freezes when the phone is LITERALLY sitting on the router. 2) isn't the purpose of the app to allow you access to TV anywhere in the house? This app is the epitome of useless.
This app is really, really, REALLY BAD. It takes more than 5 minutes to open; if it opens at all. When I click on the "GUIDE" tab it takes forever to load, and when I click on a specific show on a channel it takes forever to load as well. The app freezes so often. My phone is a OnePlus 8 Pro running Android 11. So I'm sure that my phone has more than enough horsepower and memory to run this app. So I really don't understand what's going on here. App definitely needs to be updated more often.
Idiotic design for the Guide. One third of the screen area on the left is wasted to show the five letters for the channel, just so it can waste bandwidth by also showing a photo for each channel. I don't need photos, but I do want more than one hour of the TV listings available on the screen. Less foolish design focused on pretty screen captures with cute channel photos, and more functionality. I don't look at a Guide to see NBC's channel photo, I look to see what's on TV.
very finicky app. doesn't always open, loses connection in the middle of watching a show, can't watch programs you have recorded on the DVR, craps out way too often. it used to be better when you could watch it on a PC but they stopped that also. their TV to GO app also isn't that great. you would think that a company like Cablevision/ Optimum with the millions that they make, would have all this ironed out!
App is terrible. Cannot get one single channel to play, and yes I'm in my home network (Clm-6105 error) Fir all the money we pay for cable/internet, you would think they would finally make an app that works good. I thought nothing could be worse than the other optimum app, congrats, you made one thats even worse!! Get it together Optimum, I wish we could get Verizon Fios!!!!
I'm a little confused on what this app is even for because it it doesn't actually WORK? I thought it would be to easily pay my bill but it won't even let me log in. It keeps crashing. So I changed my password. Tried again. It Froze and wouldn't work...again. So I go to my internet browser and use the same login information that I had just tried 5 times on the app and it logs in within seconds. Either do better or just get rid of the app. Don't waste your phone space. Just use your browser
Can't log in. I can log into the website fine. I get an error message from the app saying they're having trouble & can't log in right now. From the reviews, I can see I'm not the only one having this issue, it's an ongoing issue for a while, & y'all aren't concerned with fixing anything. I can also see from the reviews that I'm not missing out on anything either by not being able to use the app. Reviews are overwhelmingly bad. Y'all don't seem concerned about it beyond sending a form message.

Finally an updated app to match other services but unfortunately DOA, I've been a customer for years and the app just tells me to wait a few minutes while my account is being setup, a month or possibly longer later and it's still setting up my account, at least i can record shows to my DVR and see what I've recorded previously from the old app. The idea of the app is to be able to watch my channels live but can't use this for that at all.
Horrible app. It never works. I tap the app and all I see is the optimum logo. On the odd occasion that it actually starts up, it won't let me watch anything. None of the options work, and if I can finally get a show to load, it freezes. I pay almost 300 bucks a month for TV, internet, and phone to these a$$ clowns and they can't get a damn thing right. Calling support is frustrating. People can't speak English and they are clueless. DO BETTER OPTIMUM.
I used the old app for years. New app looks nicer. Everytime I start it it gives me the same message "before you can start streaming your favorite shows, it may take up to 30 minutes to finish setting up your account". Then you can't stream anything. It will say "we're still setting up your account" This has gone on for weeks. I contacted support and twice they told me it was fixed. But it wasn't. Bring back the old app.
I had to reinstall this app to company app changes. I have tried countless times to use my same sign in info, of course not. So I started the process to change password etc. Got as far a confirming password and, nope, keeps saying you've used that, ( noooo) must match, double triple checked. Changed passwords to see, not going thru. This should not be so hard. I'm not a techy, but come on, pathetic,frustrating and ready to just cancel the terrible stuff I'm paying for anyway
The app worked for a couple of days, now it just hangs on loading. The guide is pretty worthless, as you can not scroll the times for the whole grid, you need to pick a channel to see whats on later. Oh, almost forgot, the app never remembers my username/password. Doesn't offer the ability to save it.
HAD to install this app b/c old was due to expire. Nothing but problems with this one! The OLD was 100x better, I could access guide while watching channel, I could set DVR to record, etc. This app keeps displaying error code, won't allow me to log on, once logged in the sound is way too low, sometimes newer versions are not always better. Optimum, as an average rating of 1.4 stars so far should tell you something. Fix this so it works better. Or just give us back the OLD app.
App is horrible. I would have given negative stars.. How do they release apps like this without testing.. 1. Most of the time it does not load. Hangs phone completely 2. Could not find a way to see a live news channel. When you select the channel from the guide, there is no button to see the live tv 3.Can you put back the old App back. At least it worked
The new optimum app is as bad as the old one. Constantly stops. Have to sign on multiple time. Buggy as can be. Impossible to watch TV without interruption on my samsung tablet. Optimum - Altice suck and again are doing things at the cheap. Years and can't come with an app that works says it all. Following the comment from the développer ibam not astonished. I have the same issues as all the other reviewers. You can't watch live TV on a tablet without having the app stopping or crashing.
The latest version of the app is annoying to use. We now have to use a drop-down menu to access the gide, DVR, etc. when formerly they had direct access buttons on the bottom of the main screen. The guide itself now shows images of each show on every channel listing - a total waste of bandwidth. For the past week the channel guide has been wonky - either the listings showed "No Data" or else the DVR won't let me record channels that I'm subscribed to, telling me that I'm not subscribed (e.g YES)
Update: 11/4/21 The Optimum App was working for awhile but not anymore. For the last few weeks the guide opens to a blank white page. In order to get any program or DVR information I have to constantly delete and reinstall the app. After 24 hrs it's blank again. Awful! I am unable to sign in. Keeps saying that I need an internet connection. I have one! This is just like relaunch of the News12 app which was released with numerous bugs. Hey, Optimum, don't launch until it actually works.
New app is garbage. I only have optimum for sports, and now everytime I try to use it, it has a box that comes up and says "Please wait while we set up your account". Well nothing im my account has changed except for the new app, and it has been 6 days now! If i cant watch the games on my phone tonight im canceeling my optimum service. Enough is enough, no customer service, and they charge for everything! I have a feeling this is my last week with optimum.
