It doesn't work. It keeps freezing and is unresponsive. Advertises one price, but when you select it, it refreshes & gives error saying that price isn't available anymore and leaves you with a price that was hundreds of dollars higher. You try again and the original (lower) price still shows as available. You refresh, clear cache, uninstall/re-install etc. and still deal with the same issues.
I'm having a terrible time trying to use your app. I'm able to log into your website, but the same credentials 100% of the time produce the attached screenshot. I've changed my password and there's no difference. I've wiped the cache, wiped all the storage, and uninstalled and reinstalled, and still not working. THERE SHOULD NEVER EXIST A CASE WHERE THE WEBSITE ACCEPTS CREDENTIALS THE APP REJECTS, ESPECIALLY WITH A COMPLETELY UNACTIONABLE AND MEANINGLESS ERROR MESSAGE! Please fix this
Have had success in the past using Orbitz, but their customer service has gone downhill. Booked a package. Showed up at hotel I booked. The hotel is now a different name, under construction, no pool, no towels in the bathroom when I showed up, parking under construction. Pics on Orbitz did not match reality. It's now 2am and dealing with the 4th customer service person to try and get a different hotel.
Used to be the best place to get rooms, no longer. They ask you to use the app - ok sure. But their prices aren't the best anymore. I checked the hotel's website, more expensive. Tjen a multi-hotel search, similar prices. But Expedia still takes coupons, and already had a cheaper rate for the same hotel, same room. Saved 15% by going back to Expedia. Go figure. 💸
Awful experience with is about refunding canceling tickets. It takes too much for me to say something bad about a services, but this time I'm making an exception. Do not buy tickets through Orbitz, they start "disconnecting" from the chat, say "not able to work on" a ticket. I mean, easy to buy but a nightmare when things go different than schedule. It shouldn't be like that.
Convoluted policies that sometimes conflict with hotel policies. They say something is free, but then charge you fees for it later. This app has screwed me over for $60+ 3 different times. And when you talk with support, each person gives completely different answers. It's NOT worth it at all. Especially since you don't really save much anyway. You'll end up paying more in the end. Do NOT give this app your CC info!
I booked a hotel in St. Louis for 2 nights and received confirmation emails and my card was charged. I get to the hotel tonight and no record of any reservation. Beware, I had to frantically try to chat with support and all they gave me was we will call the hotel to confirm no cancelation penalty. Ummm, orbitz didn't even book it with the hotel,so how does that work? Make sure to call the hotel ahead of time before you arrive! I had to pay walk in rate at $50 more per night. Never again!
Customer service chat needs work. I waited a while for someone to finally answer, but when they did, I had no idea and missed them. I had been with my phone the whole time but the app makes no sound when someone responds and no pop ups if you're on another app at the same time. Later I tried to reach customer service twice more, waited twice as long, and never got a response. Overall not a good experience. There was no option to call or phone number displayed on the cancellation page or chat.
Orbitz is my go to for booking trips. Always a good deal to be found and easy to use. Chat feature has been helpful a couple times too. Updated review: The app just keeps crashing or won't load rates for stuff and it's a huge pain in the butt. it'll say Do you want to add a car to your booking and yes as a matter of fact I do, but then when I try to add it it keeps saying oops there was some kind of an error try again later but it never works. And I've tried changing the dates and travelers.
I've been using orbitzs for literally decades. I liked it because my schedule rapidly changes and I can cancel a flight within 24hrs of booking.. Well, I did just that. I couldn't make a flight I booked 16hrs before and like I have many times before, I had to cancel the flight.. So I did on my dashboard like all other times.. but for some reason this time it magically disappeared on their end and I loose the $300 flight I never boarded and canceled.. not even a credit..
Hotels and Flights ,and Cars, are so easy to find within your parameters. Also, I saved almost $30 on a booking from using them so much. What I like especially is when choosing flights, the screen is very organized, so that it's easy to sort through all the info, including total fees. I have been using them for decades, and they have only gotten better!
HORRIBLE experience. I booked a reservation, using a coupon code, noticed a mistake, and called customer service. They said it's best to cancel and start over. Now I can no longer use the coupon even though it's been applied to a cancelled reservation. Customer service said the system only recognizes it as being used and says there's nothing they can do. That is ridiculous.
This app truly sucks. It doesn't navigate well. You cannot find the flights you saved. You cannot find flights- bc again, the app is a pain to navigate. The app doesn't remember any info you put into the app. Its a waste of time. It can even remember your log in information. (It keeps suggesting some other email- I own my phone- bought brand new. My email is my email. Wth is this other person??) I'm done wasting my time on here. Ooh, & who pays extra money for an aisle or window seat??
I have used Orbitz for years as my primary online booking site. My recent experience has made me question ever using them again. I booked a hotel stay in March. There was an issue with the card I used, but I didn't know. Jump to August and Orbitz app is showing everything is fine for my stay. I go to check in and my reservation was canceled. The worst part was there was no way to reach out to orbitz to resolve the matter quickly. I'll be more careful in the future... with a different service.
Very sneaky and unethical how you can't really speak to a real person to help. I tried booking a flight for me and family months in advance and after spending all that time and filling out payment, app would say that flight wasn't available anymore. Next day, I tried again in morning and now the message was that booking couldn't be completed and to try again. Went to my card statement and several pending transactions were made but booking was never possible. Went to Priceline and no problem.
I paid for my package then instantly the price went down. They offered me a 25.00 voucher. For next time. Fine. I conceded in that part.. But then did not receive the 10% for booking with the app(the only reason I chose them over Exepedia). There were no exclusions mentioned and the trip cost me over 100.00 more than it should have. There was no way to reach an agent WHILE booking. Only after you pay. I feel this is deceptive. I declined the 25.00 since there won't be a next time.
The offers that are shown are merely click bait, as there's nowhere to enter the special code they use to advertise. I clicked on an Orbitz ad that got my attention by claiming that I would get 15% off of my 1st trip. I stupidly believed it & downloaded this app. When I tried to use the code to get this 1st time discount? No option to even enter the code. They don't deserve 1 star, but it doesn't let you tell the truth either, as there's no way to give zero stars.
This app started sending spam notifications for sales unrelated to my travels. I've had to block thus app from sending notifications as a result. Unfortunately this means I can no longer receive notifications about flights that I've booked, which is important. Switching to Expedia. Shame. I've used Orbitz for years and now I have to switch to something else.
If you want to cancel your booking they charge an outrageous penalty fee for you to cancel. The wait time for the customer service is laughable. Probably due to so many unhappy customer. And the customer service is lousy and won't listen. I have deleted the app and will only be making reservations with hotels from now on. It is worth it. App works like its supposed to though.
Works okay until there's a problem. I was able to make the reservation through the app for my flight, however when the flight was canceled by the airline I called Orbitz support. I opted to get a callback, which they did five hours later, only to quickly tell me I have to call American Airlines to make changes. Dealing with American Airlines support directly was a faster and more pleasant experience.
