I have concerns about this card and app. Unfortunately, I was unable to use the card at Walmart, as it was declined three times. As a result, items related to food, healthcare, and essentials were denied. I would like to understand why I can't access my funds easily or use them freely without having to scan every item. Since the money is mine and I have earned it, I would appreciate the ability to withdraw cash or use it as I see fit. This app and card are trash.
No longer works. can't order products anywhere but an Actual Walgreens store. The app is difficult to use due in part to poor product availability and poor quality. The actual list of products seems long but it's a deception. every size option is a different listing. As far as supplements go, the quality just doesn't exist. I tried it and I don't like it.
This was a great app until it was "upgraded". Before, I could easily see fund balance, locate vendors, and find product eligibility. Now it's difficult to even begin to use as a text code is required with every log in. It doesn't remember the device at all. Plus it's easy to make a mistake, meaning having to start over, entering user name, password and code. So disappointing!
The app only shows 4 stores, 3 of which don't exist in my area. The major retailers, Walmart and Walgreens aren't listed. It's annoying scanning multiple items to see if they're eligible, most of which are not. I have to use the website which defeats the purpose of the app. Not to mention I can't figure out the brand names and I was able to purchased items that weren't on the list. 🤷 With that said, the items I am able to purchase save me a great deal between vitamins, and allergy medication.
Update: They brought back the old version! It works so much smoother!! And I can have my card and my husband's and see the balance now! Thanks! If I could give it a zero I would. Please bring the old version back! The new version is very cumbersome to use. Why do I have to sign in each time!! Harder to scan items, and as the main shopper I used to be able to have my husband's card and mine on the same app so I could see both balances. You can't with the new version of this app.
Use to be great! Now is horrible, absolutely atrocious. Use to log in with fingerprint. Yesterday demanded a password. Had to set up a new one. Then had to put in my card & insurance numbers. Today I get to the store, go to scan an item, it demands password again. Like everyone else, I don't carry my password book around. Tried to set new password. It wants all my numbers again. ARE YOU FRIGGING KIDDING ME!
The app used to work fine until a few months ago. I thought it was the new phone I got, but now I'm reading about an update with the scan to pay feature. That's the issue .... My phone does not reflect Scan to Pay and the card with the barcode, which I discovered when I was in line to pay and I didn't have the physical card on me because I use my phone. What a pain in the butt! I prefer to use Tap to Pay because there continue to be issues with skimmers, and Walmart is a place that gets hit.
OTC did respond to my review. After uninstalling multiple times and waiting a few days to reinstall, app is finally working properly. If I could give it a zero, I would. won't even open, so I can't scan any items. I've been trying for three days, just a spinning wheel and saying just a moment. I've uninstalled, which often helps when an app is having issues, but no luck. All the updates have made it worthless. It worked fine last year.
App is less than useful. Pop-ups for retailer list shows up blank. Searching for items is not convenient- brand name search brings back broad similar word search with cryptic descriptions and multiple pages to look through. For added convenience, the card is currently not working online. Finding where to use it locally and what products it can be used for is nearly impossible. At this rate, I won't be able to use my benefits as they expire. What a crock.
I had no problems until the update. App works fine, however I use to be able to store all 8 of my children's cards in the app. Now that the update has taken place it only allows me to store 5 cards. In order to use the other 3 cards I have to DELETE 3 of the current cards to even see if there's a balance on the remaining cards. Extremely inconvenient since I don't have them memorized.
When I scan the barcodes of items I am sure are allowed, as a test, the items are denied. The same thing happens when I key in the barcodes. I have reinstalled the app, re-registered my card and called in for help. My choices were to skip the scanning and simply use the card at the register, or to request a new card. The card was not usable at the register. Requested a new card and have finally received it. Tried 2nd card and it does not work. The issue must be in the app itself.
The new software is garbage! It will no longer accept fish, chicken or turkey parts (breast, legs) as healthy foods, only ground-up turkey meat. I scanned, as well as, typed the bar-code in manually. The old software did. It also won't update the account balance unless you logout (refresh is gone), then log back in! You can no longer stay logged in, as soon as you remove the app from screen, it logs you out.
This app used to be great. Now, it opens by asking me my card number and when I enter it, it tells me the card number is invalid despite me having used it before. The problem is that you need to enter the card number before you can use any of the other features like the scan item for eligibility feature. Essentially, the app is currently useless to me. Similarly useless is the help phone number on the back of Access card who, after several holds told me to call back.
This new version has many problems. First it did not recognize my previously registered and verified login. Attempts to change my password did not recognize my verified email. Calls to support were not helpful at all. They had no clue as to a solution for my login problem. I finally figured out that I had to create a new login, which did sync with my OTC account. When scanning items I have to "select a retailer" every time. It doesn't remember the retailer. Doesn't stay logged in. Pls fix.
No idea how to use this app anymore. I had my son's card too, now I don't know how to add both or how to scan original: itsgreat to check my balance and scan items to check eligibility. Viewing offers takes you out of the app to a web page and I'm not sure what selecting a retailer does, if nothing at all. For some reason, all my rewards are listed under "general". I wish it could show when my rewards expire. At this point I'm not sure how many rewards i have or when my first reward will expire.
as far as telling me my balance, great... but when it comes to scanning items to check and make sure they're covered/eligible to be bought using my OTC Card-its completely horrible!! Absolutely every single item I have scanned comes up ineligible... Luckily my husband was with me and could visibly see how frustrated & upset I was becoming, so he told me to just grab one or two things and take them to checkout and take a chance, I was hesitant but did so anyways, thankfully it worked. 🤷🏽♀️
It's pretty straightforward, gives you your balance, let's you scan products to see if they are approved items or not and well that's about it. Make sure you have the scanner set to the correct store or it will reject everything. I wish the app had a link or something to the list of all the approved items. Yes, there is a list but you have to go hunt for it on the web.
The card is great. Besides ordering stuff online, I can now go into an eligible store, scan the products I want to be sure they're covered by the OTC allowance, then pay with my card. And if I also buy a couple noncovered items, that amount comes out of my incentive benefit. I usually leave paying nothing, with one swipe of the card! I just wish more stores were eligible (like HEB).
Dislike that now my groceries have to go through Instacart. Now I have to pay fees for my order to be delivered, plus leave a tip, rely on a shopper to be able to pick out the groceries and make sure they're not rotting or expired, make sure someone is home for the delivery, and hope the shopper doesn't steal items from my order or steal my entire order. I have seen that some Instacart shoppers have been stealing orders. I would rather be able to do the shopping myself.
This thing really stinks. It is anything but "user friendly". Everytime I put in the name of an item, it says nothing is available for females over 65. I think this is just a ruse to get us to stop buying store brands. The insurance companies use it as a "come on" to get us to buy an Advantage Plan and it turns out to be totally useless.. I have the app on my phone and have found out nada, zilch after spending literally hours trying to get information. This is ripe for consumer complaint, in my opinion.
