When I went to cancel my subscription, I had to try on several different occasions because they make it very hard to do so which I don't appreciate. It was even hard to find the settings button...you have to be on the "us" page first of all. Then you press the manage subscription button and the only clickable button is "keep my subscription." That's the one you have to click to cancel your subscription just to let ppl know. Super annoying and manipulative.
Advertised as free. There is a 7 day free trial but it isnt actually a free resource to help you grow closer with your partner like it was advertised to be. In addition it's not one subscription per couple but rather one subscription per person. Incredibly misleading and disappointing. If you can afford it maybe it's a good app. But either make a free version with some features available or don't market it as a free resource.
Update to the original review. Turns out I had answered all the available questions, that is why I was not getting daily questions anymore. The company reached out to me and identified the issue and we're very quick, helpful and kind! Great app for couples, great support team, updated to give stars. Thank you, Paired! The app has stopped giving me daily questions and is causing me to lose my 737 day streak. I've cleared cache, data, and Uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing is working 😭
It's created a great opportunity to remotely converse on some topics that might not organically come up. It would be nice if when navigating through past conversations to filter by growth area, and search for wording. Additionally, not automatically scroll back to the most recent day(s) when looking at past conversations as that makes a user need to scroll all the way back if they clicking into a wrong chat.
Charged despite cancelling within 7-day free trial. After a couple of days, I decided that I probably wouldn't find this app very useful and cancelled my subscription within the app. I noticed yesterday my account was charged for the subscription I had already cancelled within a couple of days of installing it. Good thing it was charged to a credit card so I can dispute the charges 🤷♀️
The app is good, but I think it could be improved. It recognizes different stages of a relationship (you can record your relationship duration, anniversary, etc.); however, even when you’re in the early stages , for example, only 1–2 months in, it still offers daily quizzes and games meant for long-term couples. It should instead provide early-stage quizzes and games that better suit new relationships.
The free version is lame. But, we're going to try premium. It's not super expensive, and there's access to a lot more stuff. Edit: While one meaningful conversation a day is enough to strengthen a relationship, the one quiz/question a day you get with the free version doesn't always stimulate conversation daily...or at all. My husband and I often find ourselves answering the questions, then looking at each other like "ok...now what?" Not very helpful.
Love the app. We've grown closer together. Paired needs to have a way to contact them in the app. They applied our streak freeze and we answered the questions on time. No streak freeze required. What happens when they use a streak freeze? Do we have to pay? There is no way to contact support in the app. Also, the app itself freezes and you have to get out and back in. Otherwise, it's been a good app.
I don't know, about anyone else, but I wanted to use this app as a way to talk about some of the harder stuff and really try to connect on a deeper level. Having to pay for a premium just so that we can use certain questions/quizzes is silly. The free section shouldn't be limited to one question daily. I'm not saying unlock it all, just like three or four a day. Because I would rather pay for therapy, and a romantic getaway instead. Paired was supposedly a fun way to be do that, but fell short.
Was working great. I do use the free version because one question a day is just right for us. Lately though, after all these updates, I notice that when I try to type my answer to questions, my phone freezes up, and or it takes forever to type because there is some type of lag. If this keeps happening, I will most likely uninstall because it is supper annoying
Even just using the free version has helped my partner and I so much. we have pretty open lines of communication, but after years of being together we tend to assume we know how the other will answer, so this really helped us get back in the habit of asking each other about boundaries and feelings and all sorts of things!!! I do think, though, that how much you get from the app is dependent on how much you put into it. and also you have to still talk outside the app.
My husband and I love Paired - we have tried the paid version and while it can be really fun (there's lots of topics to pick from!), we enjoy the simplicity of the single question and prioritize answering it each day. Like some others said, questions may not always apply to you or may seem "superficial", but I think you're missing the point if you aren't able to turn that into a deeper conversation. We think this is a really great growth tool.
I can't afford to pay the subscription. I downloaded the app in hopes I could get use out of the free version. But the free version is so basic and leaves you with practically nothing to do. You get 1 free question a day to answer... That's it. I feel like this app would be very useful to those willing and able to pay the subscription fee... But the free version isn't worth the space it takes up in my phone. Thinking I'll delete and download a different relationship app with more free perks.
It's pricey for a workbook-style app, but the free version is an effective, easy commitment. Not a demanding exercise in practice. The price point is derived from expert input and in no way should that be devalued, but I do think instead of percentage-based promotions at regular intervals, there should be modules, or single question sets, categorized by areas of progress that you can buy. It would be easily digestible and promote further engagement and purchases.
My husband and I downloaded this to have a fun little game to play together. It was interesting and fun for about an hour. It lost it's appeal quickly. I wish there was a way to customize the questions, or tailor them towards topics for your relationship. Most couples have talked about what their dream home would be like. I don't need an app with a separate messenger to do it. Therefore, I do not think the content matches the subscription price.
I only use the free version so far and really enjoy it. It's enough for us so far, although at some point we may want the paid version. I do wish there was a way to turn off or at least hide the "streak" feature. Some days we just both don't enjoy the question, and I don't care if it breaks our "streak." The notifications about it are annoying and unhelpful. I already turned off the push notifications about it, but I'd like to hide it within the app as well.
Do not even download this. If I could give it zero stars, I would because this is a scam. Right before the end of the free trial, I cancelled my subscription to avoid being charged $79.99. Then when I look into my card three weeks later, I notice a charge of $79.99. Not too long ago, there was a report about scummy apps that deceitfully make you end up paying for subscription after a free trial using tactics such as "accidentally" not having your cancellation request get through.
Every time I type more than five words, and I mean I literally can't get more than two sentences in, the app literally collapses under the strain of less than 200 characters. It completely invalidates the discuss feature beyond a making it a poor man's text messenger app. -I was able to provide double the detail in just this playstore comment. Running on Samsung Galaxy S22 base model. And yes I did force restart the app and try again, if anything, it hit the character limit faster.
just started using this app and I like the questions but I was very disappointed (like others) that most everything is locked. I get wanting people to pay a subscription but there isn't even a few quizzes or games open so you can at least see what the paid version would be like. im terrified to use the trial because other reviews say you cant cancel. I also am unsure if both partners need to pay for the subscription or not. im getting mixed messages.
Was excited to use this app with my partner but didn't realize until setting it up that you have to pay to actually use the app. You'll get 1 random prompt to act as a conversation starter each day but that's it. You have to pay for any of the other quizzes or questions. The price is not worth it in my opinion. Rather just Google similar things and print them out or something. Not worth the hype. Edit: they offer a 7 day trial and set to auto charge your account which is easy to forget about.
