PBS KIDS Video

This is a fantastic app and it's used a lot by our five year old. My only issue is the data usage. When we first started using it there was an option for lower quality video vs. HD to reduce data use when you were on your network plan. That option has been taken out (or maybe I just can't find it anymore) and the amount of data this app now uses is staggering. Make SURE you have a WIFI connection or unlimited data. Frustratingly, this app also has issues disconnecting when minimized (currently on Android KitKat, though this has been an issue for awhile now), so you can't be sure the app isn't drawing data unless you manually close it out of the tray. I still highly recommend it, but you might have to have some rules governing when it can/can't be used.

As a child who didn't speak English when I arrived in the US, watching PBS Kids was my primary way to learn. I picked up English so quickly that it still amazes me. I'm incredibly grateful for all that PBS has done for me.My future children will definitely be watching PBS kids to learn.

Very kid friendly app with appropriate content. It sometimes freezes and doesn't respond, so hopefully more users can donate and we can make it better for all kiddos.

Needs a search feature. My kids will name a show and I don't know the thumbnail and when they move shows, which they do, you end up searching through everything convinced you just missed seeing it since it was there last week.

All the best children's shows are on PBS!! I had no idea about this app, but I'm so happy to have found it for my Littles. I wish I could cast to the TV through the Chromecast, but watching on their devices is sufficient. I hope there is an update to include casting at some point ❤️

the app works fine in a general sense. the fact that there's no search bar is a bit frustrating.

It's nice, but please bring back the app I remember. Like the pictures you showed us.

Great and cute app! It has my favorite PBS Kids children's TV show "Cyberchase" on here, too! I love Cyberchase! I can watch Cyberchase anytime I want and anywhere I go! At home or on the go!

The shows are amazing. The app is horrible. There is no search bar, there is no history or way to know what your kids were watching before, it starts auto playing shows right away, and it constantly tries to recast the last show that was playing. It feels like an app made for kids that can't read. If this was a design decision then they need to make a parents app or a parents mode to actually have real navigation and visibility into what your kids have watched.

Give this to a child under supervision and you will have zero issues. It is objectively the best source of media for anyone who is young. Arthur for example is about 8 year old kids just learning how to work and have fun. It's very rare that such a specific age is expressed in movies and TV.

I just love the new show Weather Hunters, there just something about it that is relaxing n educational all at the same time. not only that but the family just gets along, on other shows there's always some kind of arguing or disagreement but not on this show, they help each other n lift each other . Just all around a wonderful show that makes me feel good when I watch it.

Can't watch downloaded content without wifi anymore. We used to download episodes of my daughter's favorite shows to watch when we don't have wifi we can use, but now it isn't possible to watch them without having a wifi connection. We love this app, can we please bring this function back?

The very best at teaching children. love the shows. my kids are 20 years old, 10 years old, and 4 years old! Im proud to say they grew up on everything PBS kids! I have to say what I appreciate the most is that even with all the crazy, tom foolery going on in the world, this is always a channel that you can rely on for educational cartoons that our kiddos love! you don't allow the outside worlds views to change how children are educated and on what they are educated!! keep it simple!

Mister Roger's Neighborhood is such a delightful show. I'm so grateful to have free access to the episodes through this app. They are available for free and with no commercials. The Public Broadcasting Service is such a wonderful thing. Thank you for the resource.

best app but it won't let me download videos to watch where there's no internet and it needs to be where I can watch it without internet and with internet 🛜🛜😞😞😞♥️ it would be way better if you fix that please in the next hour so please please please please please please.

The only issue I have with this app is the lack of a search bar, or at the very least an easier way to find the show you're looking for since they aren't in alphabetical order. Love PBS and PBS Kids otherwise.

Edit: Changing to 5 stars to show my support for this public broadcasting organization. Would be 5 stars if you were able to turn off autoplay. It's available on the regular PBS app. Im sure why it wouldn't be on the children's version.

I wish the TV casting to other devices could be turned off. The feature is very frustrating when kids hit it and select something to be casted to

New app is much easier to navigate. You can actually manage downloads now. And the team quickly to my user feedback and moved the live feed back up front. New issue, the episode selection menu on Android TV doesn't show the episode title when you first select a show (the playing video pushes the episode selection menu down on the page). You have to move down the page and back up to actually read the episode titles.
