ETA: I just dropped the rating and do not recommend spending the money on the pass. Every single order has either had missing items, damaged items or expired items. The biggest one being a $40 ham that was twice the estimated price and expired by 3 days at delivery that they refuse to refund me for. Great when it works but not so great when it crashes out, which is usually on the weekends around 1-2pm (for me anyway). The substitutions they automatically generate are often questionable.
Always an adventure! One price for an item will show on the thumbnail, a second when you click on the item, and a third in the cart summary. Which price will I pay?! Every order has at least one item missing, damaged, or incorrect. Which item will it be this week?! Will I have to hit submit 6 times or 10 before the app stops telling me I haven't selected a bagging preference despite the fact that I have!? Such a fun app, always keeps me on my toes.
This is a great concept but the app needs technical work. Lots of error messages, certain categories don't load, or the app randomly shuts down. I love the concept of this as a busy single mom but it's gotten to the point the app doesn't load half of the stuff at the store, I get fed up and get my groceries normally. They need to put more attention to fixing the many technical issues with the app. Currently I can't even load the fresh bread, pastries or cakes..... fix the app!
it's buggy. and the app had the feature to approve it not the items that were substituted, as well as track your driver location to know when they were getting closer. it worked for about a month. now you still get emails about approving substitutions and tracking driver but the app just opens to order in process page.
The app was great, and wonderful that as of this last updated (Jan 2025) they added the Made in Canada filter. BUT, the pages are FULL OF ADS. Loading a new page keeps jumping as the pile of ads load. So frustrating! UPDATE JUNE 2025 They screwed up the app again!! the usual items list is now empty. all the stuff I had been buying regularly has disappeared!! Grrrr
Nasty, slow, clunker of an app. Takes forever to load on the rare occasions that it actually works at all. Lots of unnecessary and annoying features that don't improve the user experience, and in fact make it worse. The search results are often wildly inaccurate, with the app often deleting letters as they're entered in the search bar- extremely annoying! Frequent error messages and crashes make it a pain to use. The Walmart app is much better, so I have switched to shopping there instead.
The app is such a pain to use. You can't type too fast in the search bar or it will miss half the letters you type. As well, it no longer allows you to edit your shopping cart after submitting an order even though it tells you that you have until midnight the night before your order is delivered to make changes. Love the variety of of PC Express, but the app and limited deliveries compared to Walmart are having me considering switching back to Walmart for grocery delivery instead.
This app offers a very convenient service, but it does not offer consistent service. My recent experience using this PC Express app is very frustrating and my experience with customer service is running a close second. Update: I originally gave the app 2 stars but now I've reduced it to 1 star. Once I was able to actually place an order, now I am not able to modify my order within the time given.
The app works ok. But there are some bugs that are VERY annoying. When typing a search the auto complete often misses letters. It is WAY too easy to remove items from the cart, we place an order every week and each time while scrolling to review we always accidentally remove at least one item. During checkout we select that we will bring our own bags, but always get a prompt that he hasn't. Months later and these are still not fixed.
Using this app can be a uniquely painful experience. Inefficient shopping work flow with far too many mandatory steps to reconfirm at checkout, every time, regardless that you've saved your preferences before. Content moves around or disappears completely in unhelpful ways. Product information is often partial or inadequate, in stock status is unreliable. The app breaks down entirely sometimes so you cannot complete a checkout at all. Does anyone who relies on this app actually test it?
I am honestly so sick of filling my cart, being almost done with my grocery shop and then getting an "error, something went wrong" message everytime I try to online shop. typing in something in the search bar is an absolute pain, and when I do successfully enter an order only part of it comes because the rest is out of stock.
If you search something specific it's very rarely the top item. If items say they're in stock for delivery when I place my order, I almost never get my whole order and more than 50% of it is out of stock by the time they fill it. When I choose a tip defaults back to a $5 tip and when I change it again, it changes back to a $5 when I save it - at least three times I have to change the tip for every order. If my order is heavy or large I really like to give the driver a better tip.
Some sort of glitch while using the search bar. It only registers 3/4 of what I type (on a good day) so letters are constantly skipped. I have to retype certain things several times. No issue when typing in their feedback section (that they obviously ignore. I've reported this issue before) & no issues in other apps. only in PC Express search bar.
This is by far the worst grocery shopping app experience I’ve ever had. You can’t cancel or modify an order directly in the app. I had to speak to three different agents just to cancel a single pickup order. The app is essentially useless. PC should be ashamed of charging a subscription fee for such a poor experience and forcing customers to call customer service for even the simplest tasks.
Using PC Express is like eating at McDonald's. You just know you're going to be disappointed but still talk yourself into it anyways. Always short product. Get notified item is unavailable, pickup groceries and then head into store and they have a whole display of what you were told was unavailable. Produce on the verge of turning. For delivery, address is for back door. Always dropped at front. Have to tip driver when ordering, should be once order is delivered. You tip them to suck.
Good app for a useful service. One complaint I have is that it says items were removed or substitions were made, and to go check in the order for the details. However the UX is not there to show what was changed or removed. For large orders, I don't remember every item on the list so it would be nice to have a section in the order that shows this.
2019 Review: Ordered my regular grocery items. Had 12 items missing. Took over half an hour to receive at store. Living 200 km out of town I was hoping this would be a convenient option when driving to city.... Six year update: Better than before this app is still frustrating. It will crash half way through an order and clears the cart. Also it keeps auto selecting a store in another town I have to be super careful to update the correct (ask me how I figured out this bug)
**Checkout blocked with no explanation.**I created a 54-item order in the app and couldn’t complete checkout at the Place Order step. No error message explained why. I signed into PC Express on my computer and found the order still saved on the website. From there I discovered an item and its selected substitution were both out of stock, which appears to silently block checkout in the app. Once fixed on the website, the order completed successfully.
It's awesome that I get to shop from my phone with ease but the usability of this app drives me insane. When searching for a product, the app will miss keystrokes in my search because it is too busy looking up suggestions for the first 2 letters. constant pain when shopping for know items. With my last order, something failed during a search for my last item and the app became unusable. The check-in hasn't worked since I've started using it for my pickup as well.
There are glitches with this app that make it difficult and even impossible to use. Currently, I am not able to get past the address selection screen due to a glitch. I will not be ordering from any PC companies until it is fixed, because the glitch prevents orders from being placed.
