Works mostly as advertised with the exception being the Key. I purchased the key and used it with no problem until a recent phone update apparently deleted the Key from my phone. As the Key is no longer available on the Playstore I no longer have access to what I paid for. A 5 star product down to 3 Stars. If I receive help in a timely manner it's still worth 5; 2 Stars if I am stuck using the free version of of a product I spent money on!!!

5 stars if foxfi was still available on app stores, been using this for years, loved it, but, had to get a new phone and my paid version will not work without foxfi. Still using til another option arises, but being disconnected after 30 minutes for free version gets old. Hell, I'd buy it again, but, without foxfi that's not an option either. And no response from email to producers.

I purchased a FoxFi Key in 2018 for $7.99 and I can no longer access the Full Version of the app as using the "Unlock with FoxFi Key" button just takes me to a blank Google Store Page displaying a "Can't find that" error. There is no other way for me to authenticate, such as with an order number or date. I still have the original purchase receipt email. I can't in good faith recommend this product based on this.

Sometimes when USB mode provides little or no connection, the culprit may in fact be the USB cable you're using. Budget USB cords sometimes only support charging the battery and nothing else. Also, if you're on an older PC, make sure you're connected to a USB 3.0 port and run PDA in administrator mode on your PC. A restart for both devices will be required after long streaming sessions, as well. Go to your phone dev options and set background process limit to 1 or none. Good luck!

I'll give it 2 stars because it used to work, good luck now. It will connect and then within a few seconds just disconnect itself and force close the app. Nothing has changed with my phone or computer, it just decided to stop working a couple of days ago and nothing will fix it. Used to be the only decent one, useless now. Look elsewhere. Edit to ad that I payed for the full version also. Edited again because I faught with it some more and I'm thinking it's definitely more of a 1 star....

This is a GREAT app. I've had the paid version for a couple of years and used it on two phones. The USB connection is usually quite stable, with only occasional disconnects. The WiFi Direct is convenient, but it IS inconsistent. It may connect and work for hours. It may drop, auto-reconnect and work fine or keep dropping and require restarting the phone and/or PC app. Rarely, reboot the PC. I've had the same prob. with a WiFi file transfer app. Be aware of this B4 U buy. Probably can't fix.

Works pretty good most of the time, especially when USB tethering. But when I use the Wi-Fi tethering, there are a few issues. One issue is that My PS4 will connect to the internet and can download games, but cannot connect to PlayStation Network. Another issue, connected to the first one, is that every few minutes the hotspot will simply turn off on its own. Even if I'm using the phone. I paid for the full version, but these constant disconnects make it unusable to download games.

I have been a longtime fan of FoxFi / PDANet. The FoxFi app has been very reliable for me for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, the wifi direct function of PDANet I am now forced to use, due to carrier metering, is intolerably bad at making or maintaining connections. Worse, it doesn't even attempt to reconnect once the connection is dropped. With 3 devices needing to be tethered at times, I often spend more time screwing around trying to get all three of them to connect at once than I spend actually using the connection. This was all automatic for FoxFi. With the constantly changing passwords and spotty WPS functioning on wifi direct connect it is a nightmare. I love the feature when it works - it's very smart. But it needs serious work on the connection problems. I can't even describe how frustrating it is to have to manually reconnect 30 or 40 times a day when I am sitting in exactly the same spot, have a strong cell signal and the two devices are sitting right next to each other. The first thing it badly needs is a software shell between the connected devices and the hotspot, to eliminate this hassle of constantly changing passwords. It doesn't seem like there's any reason that has to be passed off to all the client devices when it can be handled internally at the hotspot device. Let it negotiate with the OS, and negotiate separately with the clients using a set password. That would be a start toward making the app truly useable again. And PLEASE teach the client apps (including desktop) to reconnect automatically, and to do so without having to turn off the hotspot, restart it and then WPS or type in the new password again for the umpteenth time in a single day. Just in the 3 or 4 minutes it took me to edit this message I have had to do the reconnect dance - TWICE. Please find some answers for this unreliability so I can keep my beloved PDANet.

I paid 7.99 one time over 10 yrs ago and used it on all my devices. Several at the same time, and I would be completely lost without it!!! It's crazy my phone internet is so slow but when we tether with pdanet the computer is fast. And when it shows an ! next to the wifi signal which usually means no internet, trust me you are connected. As long as the little key is by the signal your good to go. I just want to say thank you so much for creating this.

It works, but not like it used to. Paid key installed app keeps dropping my connection on pc, or the app completely turns off in my phone causing me to open it up, and recheck the tether box to re-connect. EXTREMELY frustrating to say the least. I can connect for seconds, to maybe 30 or so minutes of connection time, but that's about it as it drops. I have made sure I have NO app battery optimization turned on, and gone through all my phone settings and can NOT figure out how to keep it connected. The devs do not want to reply to messages sent either. I have emailed, and gotten NO replies. Oh well. I will change my review IF and WHEN this app becomes usable again. Phone is a samsung galaxy note 4 with android 9 installed, running pixel experience os.

Before this app would run out of data in about a week every month without this app. Have tested the free version of this app for over a month and never run out of data! Works great!!! As soon as i have the extra money will buy the full version. After the trial version runs out, just have to restart about every hour. No problem at all. I really appreciate the developers inginuity and generousity. Great job and thank you very much!!! Keep up the great work!!!

This app is great, It has helped me for the past 4 years with no availability for broadband internet, The only downside is sometimes the drivers in System32 become corrupted and causes PdaNet on your PC to stop responding and disconnect repeatedly. ( Sometimes it might have something to do with your phone. ) The only fix I could find was reinstalling windows, After that it seems to work ok for at least another 4-5 months before it starts doing the same thing.

I tried explaining this to a colleague, and they kept saying that I needed to go to my carrier to talk about the connection. They clearly didn't hear me say, "Bypass hotspot limit!". It is very great for downloading on your PC, Steamdeck, Nintendo Switch, anything that picks up on the wifi share. The only downside is I haven't found a way to play online with this yet.

I absolutely love this app. I don't have wifi on my computer, but I do have an unlimited data plan on my phone. This solves all my problems. I payed for the full version with the FoxFi key, and I've seen no connection drops whatsoever after using it for hours. Would highly recommend to those who are curious. Afterall, it's a free app! (For those having issues with connection dropping with the free version, it's likely on purpose. The free version disables after a set amount of time.)

Changing my review because developer support is non-existant. I've been getting a lot more random disconnects on Windows 10 and Android 11 on this latest 5.23.2 version. Both devices have the same version as the computers. It seems to happen more often when streaming video or downloading a file. When it used to work, it worked well. Something broke though. Developer does not acknowledge communications, not even an auto-reply. How NOT to run a software company.

I've used PDANET and FoxFi forever and have loved it. However, recently I've been having issues with the app freezing and losing functionality while in USB tether mode. Not sure the cause, and it went away for about two weeks, but am having the same issues again. I've tried restarting my phone and laptop, uninstalling and reinstalling this app, but with not much luck.

If I had to choose a single favorite app, this would be it. When used along with a solid data plan and good reception, this is a viable alternative to paying for an internet connection in your home. The biggest, and really the only minor drawback that I find worthy of mention, is that the app cannot run wifi and usb tethering together. The good news is that the app does not interfere with your phone's built-in wifi/tether features, so you can use then in conjunction with each other.

Update: It's only gotten worse! The Windows app constantly crashes now and you have to either reboot or go into task manager and kill the process, then relaunch it. You might get another 30-45 minutes before it crashes again. t's a nice app when working, but unfortunately it keeps dropping the USB connection between the laptop and the cell phone. It's like it doesn't even see the phone anymore. Just click reconnect or unplug it and reconnect and it will continue until the next drop. Pretty fast when working!

Updated.. Changed back to 3 star when refund came through. Fickle, but works sometimes. About half the time it works perfectly. About half the time it is difficult to get it to share data, and I get frequent random disconnects. So far, I have always been able to get a working connection even if I have to close and re-open, disconnect and reconnect several times. I bought the full version thinking it was a timed restriction of the free version. Didn't get any better. Wish I'd saved my money.

I have used Pda for a few years. Disconnects used to happen sometimes but not very often. Over the past year the disconnects have become more frequent to the extent of having to reconnect within a minute of making the last connection multiple times in a row. My longest connection period right now is about 15 minutes (yes, it IS the paid version of the app) but most of the time the connection is dropped in 5 minutes or less. This is the case on two different phones and using those phones on 5 different laptops ranging from Windows 8 on the oldest to Windows 10 on the newest (about one month old). What has actually caused me to write this review is that when I sent in a message to JuneFabrics for help on resolving the issue is that they say they will try and help resolve it and give me an answer but if they can't resolve it then they simply won't reply. Really? If you can't fix it then you'll just ignore the request and not reply at all? Btw... In the process of writing the above my connection dropped 3 times in a row. Connected and hit the edit button to add this part. Connection dropped again before I could hit submit.
