PENUP – Drawing-sharing SNS

I love this app! It was automatically on my tablet and now I use it so much. It is so useful for beginners that are trying to learn how to draw digitally. It has coloring pages, challenges, and more! Although it us a great app, it does have it faults. One of the ones that I found annoying is that if you have slow internet, it will sometimes exit the app. If you happen to be drawing while this happens, everything that you drew since your last save will be gone. To prevent this, save more often.

22GB!!!! I was really enjoying the app lately. I used it in the past but picked it up again recently and have been coloring a good bit. Then it began to freeze on me. Then it crashed with a notice saying, "Not enough storage." I then realized this app was taking up 22gb. I cleared the cache and data, and it went back to low mb numbers. I only had maybe 10 pages colored, I guess that was too much. If I keep using it, I guess I'll just save my pages and clear the data after a few.

I've been using this app for years, on and off. I love following artists and experimenting with how to do this digital art stuff. The amazing work I see from everyone else is encouraging. I have always found it easier to draw or sketch on paper, but this app has made digital drawing more comfortable than I ever thought it would be. I haven't come across glitches or anything. This is a very well-made app. Phenomenal job development team. If you like drawing on tablets or phones, you want this app

I like the paint bucket fill for coloring. I wish I could create my own sets of palettes that the app would store. Currently, you can only create one palette once, but it is only saved with the drawing you are using; AND you can only use a few colors; AND if you use another color from any place, one of the colors will disappear!!! It would be super nice to have numeric values of the RGB so that you can color match to the same "canvas" or other drawings. I only like the Coloring part.

I loved this app until this latest update. It worked good for the drawings I was doing and the brush options were perfect. Now the brush tips are too large even on the smallest setting, customizing the brushes is way too overly complicated, and they even got rid of some of my favorite brushes. Now I can't even use the app for the drawings I used to do. I'll be on the hunt for a replacement for it. Sad, because it used to be almost perfect.

I live the functions on this app. However, I'm giving it a 3 star versus a 5 star simply because your app does NOT have an automatic save feature. I worked on a picture all night last night until 7:54 AM and the app crashed & I completely lost EVERYTHING I did on a picture. It's gone. Never to be retrieved. To an artist...that's DEVASTATING! Because not every picture comes out the same. All the hard work put into it and it's just gone! Not the worth the time unless you constantly save it.

I love the app, I use it all the time, and it feels good and responsive. If I have any gripes it would be the lack of both the variety, and customization of the brushes. For example, the oil brushes' smallest setting is large compared to the pencils, and trying to get the fine details is next to impossible. Overall, I love it and will continue to use it, but please consider adding a fine-tip brush.

It started off as a great coloring experience, I love the color picker and blending brushes. I've never been able to blend well before at all. But a few issues are making me want to look elsewhere. -I haven't seen this mentioned, but the color was leaking/shifting in many places! It would bleed past the line in one direction and leave white color in the other direction, so a space no longer looked as filled in as when I first colored it with the fill feature. By the end the colors were leaking onto other already colored spaces and trying to get rid of them was a pain. This, more than anything, was frustrating. -I spent many days working on and saving many drafts of the same picture, and discovered they saved every time as a new picture in my gallery--over 77 I ended up deleting when I finished. Not sure if other apps do that, but I certainly don't need all these copies of my drafts cluttering my gallery... -I tried to search for a new picture to color by category, and all it showed was other peoples' artwork, so that's useless. It's a shame because I was really liking it before I had to deal with those three things.

I'm so not an artist so I can't give a detailed critique, but I love the variety of tools given that this is a free program! The UI is very smooth and pretty straightforward (even if it takes a couple trials and errors to understand what each tool does if you're not used to digital art programs). The blend feature is very intriguing but I feel like it could be... Broader? Fuzzier? It seems more like a smear than a blend. I might be using it wrong.

I like the app so far, but I will say that it is in need of layers. This is very important, especially for coloring. Would help a lot if they added a layers function along with some other tools like rotate, invert, resize, and something similar to the lasso tool in Photoshop. Also, I'm not sure if this is already an option, but there needs to be a way so that you don't have to share your drawings with the world just to save it. I like to keep sketches and nobody should ever see those things.

I really love this app, which is why it's so hard to give it a low rating. So, I installed the update, no big deal right? Wrong. It deleted all of my drafts (which were thankfully saved on my device's storage). It's just a bit annoying to have to edit a picture in gallery just to continue a draft the app thinks I never did. Edit: was three stars. Now five because I've gotten more used to the new format and have worked around the issue, plus there's still no ads. It's a good free art app.

It would be 5 stars if I can figure out why the live drawing steps (colors, blending, etc) don't match when you draw it yourself following each step. I don't know if its user error or what but its very frustrating when learning how to paint since I'm a perfectionist. Paint colors don't blend nicely like how its shown during each step, nor does it seem like the colors match perfectly either during the live draw. Free handing has been fun and again, my review will change once solved

Not sure if I'm just not using it right, but different styles of colors would be nice, like glossy, metallic, etc. I don't have any adult experience with drawing, but the occasional color in template and draw over photos features are awesome. Also nice being able to see what other people can do. Wish I was more artistic so I could create something cool from scratch, but since I'm not I'll sit back and enjoy my coloring book stuff.

I honestly stumbled upon this app on accident. I needed something to ease my anxiety during a 2 hour flight. I don't even remember the flight because I was so consumed by the pages to color, its super relaxing. I use this a lot before bed to unwind and relax after a long day. I love it so, so much! Definitely wish there were more festive options during the holidays, but otherwise its perfect! It's my favorite distraction :)

This is a good app with so much potnetial. I personally would like to raise the score more if the options weren't too simple. I think it would be perfect if you could add layers, zoom in/out where ever, and a select tool so it's easy to fix a sketch. Not to mention, when I start to draw, there are code bars that form where I draw. Is that an astetic/there a way to turn it off? This app is functional and easy to use so I will keep it. Please update so I can love it more! Got something good here!

Love the app; many possibilities to do. Several tools to explore your potential, admire others' work, learn step by step, give and get feedback, season challenges, pre-designed coloring pages, and more. I would love to be able to erase the background of an image imported from my gallery and erase by color, unless I haven't found it. I don't think I have seen any ads, so that's a plus. Really happy to have come across this app.

it's nice 👍 I'm very happy that this one thing where the ink in the pen would be untextured black pen no matter what pen type and colors you'd use didn't happen. It might've been that one factory reset I did. My phone was funky before the factory resetting I put on it, but now it's okay. I think it was the factory reset. Not the app related. If you fix or already fixed it, ty! Great app. A lot of good artists out there. I even have my own art. Recommended.

I wish I had an English degree to be able to truly express my feelings about this app. I had bell's palsy due to stress (essentially a "stress stroke") this affected my mobility and limited my ability to draw which used to be a source of income. I recently picked up a pencil and feel like my skills went back to high-school. Needless to say since I am learning ALL over again why not go digital and Penup offers every aspect to do this for FREE. That's the best I could do to express in words.

I'm not sure what has happened, but the app no longer works properly. I hope that they fix the bug soon, as I've quite enjoyed it up until now. Feb, 2. Thanks for responding. I'm still enjoying the app but the smudging or blurring tool no longer works. When we use it now, the smudges just become black boxes. Hopefully this won't be too hard to repair. Good luck.✌️

AWESOME app that I just discovered purely because of the fact that I bought a new phone.. Decided to give it a try just since I was bored at the time and since I actually didn't have a clue what the app was about. I started a drawing and now I can't stop.... (All good things!) I'm an artist anyway, so this is a great way for me to get the ol' artistic juices flowing when I can't have any of my usual art supplies with me. Only suggestion: WE NEED MORE COLORS TO WORK WITH! Mettalic, Matte, etc.
