Pet Care App by Animal ID

UPDATE 2: The basic free features are non-existant. Every option under basic free is X'd out. UPDATE: App is working but still think having no features under the basic free is ridiculous and stupid. I've paid for the product and shouldn't have to pay extra, especially 20 USD a month. I really was hoping this would be an easier alternative than those expensive trackers but given that this is just a QR code and no actual tracking ability, not worth it. I can put the same info on a regular tag.

Easy setup, awesome features from just the basic version (free). Provides a lot of details for your pet and to log any important documents. A few downsides that I would mention is the amount of ads that pop up. And adding photos isn't the easiest UI to manage when cropping or rotating images. Cosmetic issues really.

Subscription? Really? Nickel and diming people to get their pets back. Plus, the app doesn't even seem that reliable. So, a bought an airtag (one-time cost) and printed my own QR tag connected to my secured info online. Not that hard. So, what's the point of a subscription app? Is "pay our team for their full-time job" listed as one of the benefits of the app?

I have experienced problem twice now with this application. Both times it was acted upon and solved in a matter of no time. Great after sales service, people behind this app are professional, regardless how angry complaints they would receive. I do recommend, if you wanna track the weight of your pet, also if you want to have all information on your pet handy, in one place. It would be great if there is a fixture made, to track each pet separate in its own file (like visits to vets, meds taken)

The app is easy to navigate and setup. I recently changed my phone number and was able to easily update it in the app while I wait for my dogs new ID tag. I do wish there were a few more features for the basic plan, but I feel like what we are given is enough to get our pets back home if they're ever lost.

So far i had great experience with this app and their product. I am glad i bought their colar for my cat. He ran away and after 3 weeks i got a notification that someone scanned the qr code. Right after i got a call from a person, telling me that they found my cat. When i had a question about the subscription i wrote to them on the customer support page and they answered in less than 5 min. They were nice and helpful!

You're not just paying for a trinket quite a summ, but the functionality included for that "free" tier is really limited. Only one contact person and one phone number. I'm fine with additional functionality for a fair price, but that's kind of "basics" you need to pay more money. Better use a regular collar.

I downloaded this app since Animal ID is where my pet's chip came from. However, I am unable to register the chip, because all I was given was a little pack of bar code stickers, and there is no option in the app to scan a bar code. I would love to even be able to manually enter the registration number, but I can't. Can anyone help?

You can't come back to edit certain things later - like microchip or neuter, which is a flaw in my opinion I also set up my profile completely with 3 pets and after the recent update 2 days ago, it has completely vanished on the app - but when scanned the tags still work. When pets tag is scanned, they display your pets microchip # which could allow someone to claim ownership of your pet, so I don't like that either. Stating my pet is chipped is enough. Customers service takes ages to reply.

The app seems to work well, but the constant notification nags to upgrade to Premium are annoying. There is no separate notification channel these nags use that I could disable and disabling the main channel will prevent the QR scan notifications from coming through. 3 stars until this is fixed. 5 stars once it is.

Ridiculous! Notifications don't work, turn them on, they turn off. Permissions don't work, shows allowed in settings, app says not granted. They don't tell you when you buy the tag you have to pay for most features. I feel robbed and disappointed.

Unclear no free option. Wish at least there would be a one time fee option so you can pay to list your pet as lost. For the monthly cost there is not enough give back. They should like up with pet insurance or something to make it more worth the cost or lower the cost.

Just got a tracker and this app... Only one person can register a pet?? That's ridiculous and stupid! Sometimes I'm home, sometimes my husband is home. We both need to have the ability to track her if she gets out, and I'm not buying a 2nd tracker for a single animal

Relatively easy to navigate, good FAQ section, support team assisted with specific issue the user does not have an acces to so everything is fine. The info from the system is available in search engine so pet seems to be protected from that end.

Can't add my pet's information after scanning tag. Also where is the tag number information scanned on the app? Update... I wrote customer service in the quickly took care of the problem. I was able to add my pets information etc

I had a bit of a rough start with this app, and I wasn't sure that the developer was going to come through and clear the problem I was having. So yes, at first I was pretty irritated because there were more bad ratings that made me wonder if I had made a mistake. However, they did solve the issue and responded pretty quickly. I think this program has great value and addresses a need in the community of pet owners. My opinion: if you have an issue, contact them directly and give them a chance.

As a "full-service pet-centric platform" it would be great if you discovered that there are more than 2 kinds of pet animals in this world. Any way to register a bird?

Easy to use and easy setup. They don't force the paid subscription which makes this very nice! Registration of chip is free and goes into nationwide database! THANK YOU PET CARE APP!

Ridiculous It doesn't allow you to choose any other species of the animal, rather then cat or dog. When went to the website to change it - there are no such button

Works great, love that people can send me a geo location. But paying $5 a month for my phone number to appear is silly. I already paid for the tag, why would pay to use it monthly?
