Pros: 1) Nice UI 2) Good voice instructions 3) Free, and has offline mode Cons: 1) There is something wrong with the route calculation algorithm. With longer drives, the default suggested routes are awful (nowhere near the fastest or the shortest route). You have to "help" the algorithm by manually adding the waypoints. You shouldn't ever rely on the suggested routes. 2) Live traffic info exists, but it isn't accurate at all. It shows traffic congestion where there isn't any and vice-versa.

The newest update for Petal Navigation is a big step forward. While there are a few annoying aspects to the voice- it calls "drive" dia and driveway in a somewhat random fashion but that doesn't prevent one from finding their way and the voice is clear and friendly. It beaks down its measurements so you get .70, .75, and .80 instead of .70 and .80. Not a big difference but I like that better. It becomes the first navigation system to vocalize red light information. That's very helpful!

A really nice app, but not a Google Maps killer, yet. I really loved the app, but in order for me to actually be able to make use of it, it needs to work with Android Auto. 95% of my usage with any map navigation occurs in the car, on my nice big center console screen with Android Auto. When Petal Maps can do that too, I may be a convert.

Much better than I expected. I'm considering switching to it from now on. Edit: I think a way to improve it would be to have an option to keep the speedlimit sign on the screen all the time. Also, an option to remove the visual promt when approaching a roundabout or taking a slip road. Often I find that more confusing than helpful. And have a british male and female navigation voice, along with the american ones. Other than that, looks pretty good.

Excellent GPS navigation app, clear navigation, and visually pleasing. I just had to uninstall it due to the voices, the female is in American English, and it's not nice when you are driving in the UK and you are listening to an American voice giving you instructions. In the other hand in Spanish, you can choose a great selection of Spanish voices from Spanish speaking countries. I will try this app again in six months time, to see if this has changed.

Really really wanted to like this app, and absolutely happy to admit if I have done something wrong, but it's just really bad. Zooming out just shows a block for what's rendered in. The map is slow, the route never loads. The voice makes me jump every time and is horrible to listen too. I can't see any detail on the road when I click navigate and just shows a line with little to no road markings. Unless I'm doing something wrong, is completely unusable.

I do like the app and the features, in particular the AR-powered walking mode. The biggest bug-bear I have is the English guidance voice. There are 22 different country versions of Spanish, various country versions of French, Portuguese, German & Dutch. Why oh why are we stuck with a single version of the most spoken language in the world - an American voice pronouncing instructions and places as if we're all living in the mid-West, and not in UK, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or Canada!

When it comes to mapping and guidance, it's ok. But I also enjoy listening to music or audiobooks when driving. And more often than seldom, the heads up "ding" will "duck" the volume of my audio and not release it afterwards. This is very annoying. So annoying that I'm not using this app. And the highest level of prompting is so talkative that it's distracting. The traffic bar: Doesn’t work. No space left to explain.

I've used Garmin sat-navs for the past 20 years. The algorithm on Petal is very similar in the routes suggested. I like the offline option and the speed that any re calculations are made. My ranking is reduced to 4 stars for two reasons - which I hope will be attended to. 1. The walking mode in offline use is not currently supported, and there are a large number of walkways that do not exist on the map. 2. The English voice and terminology is American. Australian or BBC English would be better.

The look is nice. Although obviously, the maps don't work with Android Auto, neither native Ford infotainment. It will be difficult to use as such in the car. I guess there will be gradual progress with the accuracy, functionalities. Though when choosing the alternative product to Google, it shall be already well cooked. Otherwise the experience just fade away.

By far the best alternative to Google Maps I have used. It's very clear on providing instructions for the most part. However, I've been having issues on certain roads where the navigator tells you to "turn right" when it's actually meaning you should continue on the road by keeping right. It's also pronounced cities wrong sometimes. The illustration at intersections to help you move into the correct lane would be useful if they showed a more zoomed out pane or forward view

I cannot believe I did not find this map earlier! It has up-to-date maps, clear navigation (the voices need a bit of work) even without voice guidance, as the route to be taken stands out really well and the map moves perfectly to the appropriate view on start and at places where options to take other routes are available, or need to be taken and all the while avoiding traffic! You can transfer your favourites from other maps too; dropped pins show as longitude-latitude. Cannot fit all here!

Love it but... no speed cameras! Interface is the best! Simple and useful. But not presenting speed cameras is, for me, a huge drawback. I was available to use it all time but, without this, I cannot; therefore, I cannot give 5 stars. Another thing a little bit annoying is that (in Playstore) presents functionalities that aren't available for Android, like (for example) lane guidance.

The best of Waze and Sygic in one app: online or offline maps, progress bar, hazard reporting, automatic dark map in tunnels, information about petrol stations and rest areas ahead, and much more. Plus nice, simplistic design. Cons: extremely talkative (no need to tell me about every highway exit I drive by), inaccurate and fluctuating speed indication, hazard locations way off as the location is from the moment of sending and not pressing the 'Report' button.

The petal maps is really nice. I like the system of this app, that's why I give a 5 star of it. It is highly recommended to install. However, I still experience some bugs like when I choose my route the maps is logging like it moves on its own in 49 - 50 km/h. That's why when it's happening I re-open again the map to fixed the problem. And the lane guidance I think what you called it, sometimes it does not work when I'm turning, it does not appear. However, it works perfectly fine and I like it.

Overall, it is a great app. Great knowledge of routes ahead and great voice instructions. The only issue I had was the would constantly lose signal and try to reconnect. Also, sometimes it gives wrong directions and may find it difficult to get you back on track. There's also a lot of room for improvement for the user experience. The interface is not user-friendly at all and it can be quite a mission to set up a from and to address.

This is useless, I get a "Starting Navigation" voice with the destination and an initial turn instruction, then no further voice prompts for the rest of the journey. You can't keep looking at the phone to read the directions at the top of the screen, that's just dangerous. All Volume, Navigation Prompts are set to the loudest level, and still only get the initial message. Ah well, it was nice to try something different, but back to Google Maps for me.

Very promising features but routing still needs to be better. It has many features such as speed limit, lane guidance, but the routing is occasionally wrong, examples, guide me to go through private apartment or routing to make a U-turn further away when can just turn right from a minor road into a main road. I don't think I would use as the main navigation app.

The interface is so good, loved it. But all said and done when the main function of navigation map is to guide us to our destination the best way possible either lesser toll/trafic light, the shortest and so on, Petal Maps failed really bad at this due to the fact their map is not up to date. Was using it for a week and 3 days I encountered outdated map. 30 minutes drive became 2 hours. The maximum were 4 wrong un-updated map navigation instructions, make us waste so much time and energy. SKIP!!

I do like the whole UI compared to Google Map, but the accuracy is losing. It can't bring me home, but point to another location which is 5mins drive away... The route are sometimes messed up, example instead of going straight,it ask me to make a turn, and U-turn back to the same road, rerouting is also very slow as well... Still have much space to improve...
