I didn't realize this was it's own app, interesting. I seem to be not getting as many calls as I'm used to. I hope this is not due to a screening process. I enjoy conversing with people I know, for the most part. I've also noticed I don't have as many options available. I kinda miss the older operating systems like Ice cream or so kind of sweet, Popcicle maybe? Everything worked so well, I almost never ran into service issues and reception was excellent everywhere on this side of the mountains.
I have a prepaid phone. When I play my messages there's way too much preamble (time date phone number etc). I don't need all that and you're wasting my minutes. Just play the messages. All that minute burning and time consuming information is already on my phone. Another big problem for wasting my time and minutes is when I listen to my saved messages they always start at the oldest. More often than not I want to listen to the most recent. If nothing else at least give the option.🤬
Lately, WiFi calling has been a pain. Drops calls frequently and it didn't use to do this. I use to have clear , solid reception when making a call. I use Starlink for my Internet and my 5G WiFi connection is more than stable. I live in a rural area and the signal I receive from my providers cell tower is weak, so I depend on WiFi calling to work. I hope this is corrected soon.
Latest update has made it impossible to answer incoming calls. Touch the answer button and it immediately transfers call to voice mail. Very frustrating. Resolution: Without any warning, the answering procedure changed from drag the "answer" button to drag the phone icon and drop it on "answer" or "decline." This is neither intuitive nor obvious. I had to discover it by accident after missing dozens of calls.
It's terrible since I'm forced to use it on my new OnePlus phone, and I can no longer view the call logs properly. An incoming or outgoing call used to show Tuesday 6:45 PM an arrow pointing in for an incoming or an arrow pointing out for an outgoing call. It would also read stuff like 23:41 (23 minutes and 41 seconds) and if there were 5 calls to or from the same number list all 5 calls with that same information. Now it only lists the last call. Sometimes it lists nothing at all! WARNING!
l dont like the new version and can not get the old one. the latest version does not combine all the logs for one number in the same entry. it makes multiple entries. so you cannot know if you went back to the missed calls because it gives you the missed call entry all the time. if you have 10 missed calls and t you want to call them back, you need to make notes elsewhere to make sure you called them all
Why is it so difficult to have Google fix the hang up sound after a phone call?? I have submitted my issue many times. No sound when phone call ends. No idea your call has ended. Google, this is basic stuff I did go to help center, no help. This should be addressed regardless. I have submitted many times and looked for options for this issue, received no help
The new update is awful. The favorites tab was so helpful. I didn't have to search or scroll to find who I was calling. It was easy to see. Also who needs a dial pad? What is this, 1950s?? I've only ever typed in a number maybe 5 times. It doesn't need to be a tab. It was fine where it was, as a small button on the bottom right hand corner. Also, the new update is not compatible with Android Auto. When I go to the phone app on Android Auto, the favorites tab is blank. It was fine the way it was.
Phone app is completely unreliable and untrustworthy since I upgraded to Android 15 (Moto mobile). The most pressing issue is Phone blocks calls from unknown numbers. I have checked EVERY possible setting. I have followed countless troubleshooting guides. IT is NOT my network provider who don't have such a setting. It IS a problem with the phone app. I bet Google will gaslight me and blame everything else. This is an issue on two android phones with different network providers. The app is buggy
The app has changed. It no longer groups the contacts call history into a uniform display and instead give you a log of everytime they call. Making the app and screen look very cluttered. Also makes finding the last time a particular contact who doesn't call often more difficult to locate. There is no setting to regroup the contacts into 1 log and checking the call log history from there. Instead we are forced to see a time and date for that contact every call, incoming or outgoing.
Since the last update...I've been unable to get voicemails!! people leave a voicemail and it MIGHT show up 24 hours later. This is NOT okay. I've tried to get this fixed and NOBODY seems to be able to change it back. I want to receive voicemails when they are left not 24 hours later when they show up!! PLEASE FIX this problem....that's why I hate to update because it ALWAYS creates a PROBLEM.....
hate the most recent updates. when you go to call someone and type in their name, it doesn't find the names properly. you have try first name. no? last name. maybe one number will come up. sometimes it's opposite and only first name will show up the right number. or one of the numbers. so you have to go to contacts and find what you actually need. it's such a pain! never used to have this problem
The latest update is a step backwards. The large contacts button has been moved to a less convenient location and is smaller now. Sorting contacts by name is broken, so it doesn't matter how you set it, it only sorts by first name. Favorite contact buttons are smaller with no improvement in usability. Change for the sake of change isn't good. improve it, or leave it alone
Getting even worse. Now it didn't show a missed call from a person on my contacts list. Previous update turned a decent app into a POS. The list of recent calls used to show them by caller. Could select history if you wanted to see earlier calls. Now it clutters the screen with every call. If someone called 3 times, there are 3 separate entries! Went from a decent app to a nearly unusable clunker. If it ain't broke don't fix it. 😡
Pixel 9 Pro user - Incoming phone calls don't display whatsoever, however, the ringer works perfectly. So by the time I dig through multiple screens to answer the phone, the call is gone. It's apparent that some of these updates aren't vetted prior to pushing them out to the user since this isn't an isolated issue. Messaging features were goofed up too. C'mon Google, this is your platform, your phone, and your apps, get better at this or get out of the device business. It's getting old.
Hides voicemails, and so fails one of the fundamental requirements of a phone app. Not sure when this changed. People started telling me they were leaving me voicemails, but nothing shows up in the voicemail tab. you have to go into call history, and search through missed calls to find them. It's an incredibly inconvenient interface to not have a unified list of messages to go through.
I like the improvements to the UI, but I've had a lot of functionality issues over the last year. The caller ID not showing up all time is annoying, but the voicemail syncing is just non existent. I'll get a notification 20 hours later that I received a new voicemail. most of the time that I click "play" on a message it says it can't be retrieved. It's been a long time that it's been going on, and other Pixel users I know have said the same thing. PLEASE FIX!
Prier to the most recent updates it was a really good experience especially with the large spread out layout with the favorites. I loved the option to move around your favorites around to your hearts content. It was easy to access with a single click and easy to see. Now it's a pain just to list your favorites and hard to see them and no options to arrange them. I don't think anyone asked for this abomination of a change of UI.
The "help us improve" message AFTER EVERY CALL is annoying. If you use your phone for something else during a call you have to swipe three times and hope that you find the"end call" button. This is so stupid. You can improve your product by stopping these annoying prompts. There was no issue why are you asking me this? It was a friggin phone call.
Prior to the recent update this was a great app. I liked the way that everything operated. No the app is almost unusable. If the app does not get changed back to how it worked before I will be changing phones to get something that is actually user friendly. My contract is up and I wanted to keep my phone for a while, but if you are going to make the Google phones so difficult to use, I will pay for a new phone to get away from this awful phone. I use my phone all day for work.
