The picture taking part for the most part was great! I loved that it separates the pictures, unless the pictures are overlapped, then you have to use the scrapbooking feature and crop it which is a pain. My problem happened when I opened them on the computer. It only downloaded 70 of 1000+ photos, I did what tech said but it didn't work, I told them this and they said the same thing as before. They took days to respond and now the account is locked and wants $ to continue using. wasted of time.
fast and simple to use! There are a few things I would like to see added such as folder options, searches (such as by people/places/dates/etc.) I love the fast and easy way of using this app to scan photos but wish it had more AI options like google photos for searches and/or grouping and I'd like to know if there's more options such as Photomyne partnering with me in order to digitalize photos for customers.
Was offered the 3 day trial period, but still ended up being billed $19.99. Granted, I submitted my billing info, but that is SOP for just about every trial offer I've ever downloaded. The software itself was practically useless. All the slides were blurry, including those I held 2 inches from the screen as the developers recommend. I had better results using my phone camera, which cost me nothing. All in all a waste of $19.99 that I didn't agree to shell out before the 3 days was up.
The photo scan feature is useful but flawed. Taking a picture of one photo at a time gives better quality but often has glare and reflections, so lighting matters a lot. Uploading scanned images gives more consistent results. The app occasionally glitches, I lost a few photos, and inconsistent syncing between app and computer. Picture quality usually improved, though the sharpen tool can make faces look odd or overly edited. Good for a trial, but not reliable long-term.
I had high hopes. I scanned some pics in during the free trial with no issues. Unfortunately, the app has been problematic recently. After many hours of scanning with no apparent issues, it got stuck. The syncing kept hanging up. It would say there was a random number of pics left. That would rise and fall with little relation to the number of pics I scanned till it froze. Customer service only responded once with an answer that didn't address the issue. My wifi is working. App isn't connecting.
Photomyne is very easy to use and it does a good job capturing the color and pixels of original photos. However, the basic paid version of the app is glitchy as some of it's features like deleting multiple pictures at once or capturing multiple photos at the same time don't always work. The app is also very slow when synching photos to the cloud.
Overall, I'm very happy with the app, but it does have some odd glitches. You can't use apostrophes or quotation marks in your notes. The AI sometimes misreads the horizon and skews the picture, sometimes even cutting off heads. The colorizing feature can produce funky results: patches of Easter egg psychedelics and two-tone clothes. It sometimes over-colors B&W pictures and doesn't restore enough color to faded ones. Still, it is very fast and gets most of your photos 95% of the way there.
I stumbled across this app when putting together a photo album on Shutterfly. The album has a lot of older pictures, and Photomyne did a fabulous job of cleaning them up and making them look practically new! I did the 3-day free trial for premium features, but unless you're using the web platform and uploading pictures from your computer, it's not necessary. Had a little billing issue afterward, but Photomyne took care of me!
When my Dad passed away and while going through things, I needed a way to scan photos. This app has helped me save memories. I had planned to cancel when we were done. I have changed my mind and am keeping the pay version. That was 2 years ago. I am still working on organizing all my photos and learning about the app. The features keep getting better. I love its potential. I keep learning as I go.
So far I tried it on one photo from 1986. It worked great, with the photo enhancement...but...I wanted to sharpen it. The app told me it couldn't sharpen anymore. I thought that was crazy, so I downloaded the photo to my phone and sharpened it with my phone's photo editor. It definitely COULD be sharpened further. So far, that is one thing it's lacking... It's really good at scanning and enhancing!
This is the best scan and share app I have found . I've tried many. Easy and quick to scan.Very clear scans . Allows you to create and share photo albums on Facebook . Even gives you option to scan a very old photo abd tap and restore the photo and / or , if its an old black and white photo , tap , and turn it into a colored photo. I did get stuck on something , i just messaged the site for help and they were very quick to respond and walk me through to fix . 5 stars without a doubt .
Scanned close to 600 items in the time it would take me to do 6 with my printer scanner... And most are cropped perfectly! Old photos that are blurry came out better than the original. Had some issues with all my photos appearing for sharing... But I think if you "process" more often than I did, problem would be solved. Would like to have more organizing functions...I hear they are coming.
Absolutely Terrible. First you cannot try it for 10 minutes without connecting it to your payment method. Then it pushes things to ITS cloud or something. You cannot choose where to scan item to on your phone. Last but not least.. and there are many, before even trying this take a picture of your photo and see if you like it. So many reflections no matter what backlight or anything, it's not worth the money to just crop and save as jpeg.
I needed a way to digitalize what seems like an endless amount of photos from my in-laws. After 12 hours of sorting through photos, I gave up and did a google search for a way to scan and edit a large number of photos. Luckily, I found Photomyne. I was hooked by the demo video. Once I signed up for the annual subscription, I immediately started using the app. It is so easy to use and gives great results l. I even called my parents and offered to digitalize all their old photos.
I am giving this 2 stars because the app is super cool, but I didn't read the fine print and you have to pay to do anything with the pictures you scanned. I discovered this after scanning 200 photos! I am not tech savvy enough to trust being able to cancel the monthly charge of $10.00. With that said it was really nice to take a picture of a whole photo album page and then the app separated them!
Good app but not good business practices. I had used several times using the free version watching ads. I opened it recently to discover the free version was no longer an option. There was an offer for a 3 day trial so I opted for that in order to access the pictures I had already scanned. My credit card was immediately charged for $19.99 for a month. If they are offering a free trial period, then my card should not be charged. I contacted them with no response. Not worth that amount!
Stopped working. Supposed to be free if willing to see ads but that's not true. Used several weeks ago and it was good. Tried today and after I scan, there's nothing I can do with the picture. Logged out, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to sign in and got a code, and still nothing period false advertising if you say it's free but it really isn't
Works as advertised. Scanned a140 picture album in about 40 minutes including adjusting some cropping and playing around with the features. Would have taken me at least 2 hours or more with a traditional scanner. I will say that I did remove most pics from the album sleeve for best results. Depending on your album's material you still may get a little glare leaving them intact. But, the fact you can scan 4 photos at once (and in about 5 seconds) is a real time saver. I understand the comments about the monthly subscription. Not ideal for most consumers. However, I got a seven day free trial and then a $11.90 yearly subscription, which is well worth it. Wasn't easy to find, but once I signed up for the free three day trial I think it was an option to upgrade. There was also a 5 year deal for maybe $29.99? So if you have boxes or albums of old pics you want to digitize and save forever, don't let the cost dissuade you.
Easy to use. Quick scans. Quality varies depending on condition of source photo and using the app properly. Lighting is critical to avoid glare and you must hold your phone parallel over the photo. It does a good job of auto cropping and color adjustment. I had some photos that were covered with a red tint that it cleaned up amazingly. The photo editor is the weakest part . I would like to resize some scans. I have paid version and it's worth it.
I am so impressed with this app. I paid for the 2 year option since the features are many and the scan process is so much more exciting to use (than having someone else do it). What it does with older pictures is almost miraculous! Now, you will have to do a little work with aligning or adjusting the camera angle and/or lighting when scanning photos...to get the best look...but it sure as hell beats having to go to a store or upload to a 3rd party and have to wait!
