Picrew Character Creator&Maker

Used to be fun, but it just isn't worth the excessive ads. Videos every time you close and reopen the window, audio ads playing over everything you do, invisible ads that you can click without even trying... It's incredibly irritating and unnecessary, I understand that you have to have some advertising to keep it free but surely you don't need all this.

I can hardly do a few things in the app without getting a random ad popping up on screen. Even when I'm doing something important like making an account. What's worse is that a lot of the ads have sounds for some reason, meaning I'll randomly get a random advertisement blaring at me. I also keep getting the SDK/"Sharing Info" pop up as well after hitting disagree multiple times. Somehow it feels far more clunky than the site and it's honestly unfortunate.

the fact that the ads are STILL a major issue for this app in 2025 is wild. I've been a big fan of picrew for years, and I was so when there was an app for it. I understand needing ads for profit here and there, but EVERYTHING gives you an ad. Switched to another app to send a text? Ad as soon as you come back. Want to try another maker? Ad. Not to mention half of the time these ads are just fake malware ads meant to trick people.

Great artists, poor obstacles. I appreciate being able to easily make an account that saves my favorite makers and designs! The advertisements on the site / app are aggressive in frequency. The biggest headache is when it does not offer the option to exit/dismiss the ad, otherwise the app needs to be restarted. Advertisement audio is force played and starts up intermittently, so it shuts off anything I was listening to.

I adore Picrew, I have for years! But I feel I can speak for everyone when I say there are WAY too many ads. I understand that ads are needed for profit, but there are genuinely so many to the point where the app is almost unusable. It's awful. Not to mention the fact that half the ads aren't even true, just malware or a scam. They're intrusive and they get in the way. There has to be a good balance between ads and the actual app for it to be enjoyable, and right now that just isn't the case.

ADS ARE SO FRIGGIN ANNOYING!! I got this app so I could give my ocs better and more creative outfits, I used to use the site but I wanted to get the app. The ads on here are UNBEARABLE! An ad when I open the app (always/mainly Facebook) an ad when the oc I made is loading on the bottom. I already know ads are how y'all can keep this free but I hope y'all make enough money to make at least most of them go away. Other than the ads the app is good! maybe recommendable!!

I really love this app! The art and the designs creators make are very cool and creative and I find that fun for the people who love creating OCs! I love how the ads are very lowkey, the ads are not spamming you every click lol so thank you for that! 🥹 I do have one complaint though and that is the app tends to crash very often and it randomly logs me out of the app. It's not a storage problem since this is the only app of mine that does this. Please fix it... 😓 Overall though fun app! 🫶

Worked fine but when I was specifically doing a pony picrew, it made my phone EXTREMELY EXTREMELY slow. So slow that I couldn't escape the app. Also when I was trying to make an account, it was slow even then and I ended up not making one. :( After trying it a bit more, other picrews starting making my device really slow so I had to delete it. 😐

I liked the website and when the website suddenly filled with ads I said 'oof I get it, they gotta make money somehow' but now the app is up and it's only gotten worse. I don't think it can handle the amount of activity it gets anymore. I'm constantly kicked out of the app or suddenly taken to a website because I clicked a popup before it even loaded in. the app is more congested and slow moving than I've ever seen before and the issue isn't my wifi. I have full bars. it's frustrating to use.

This app is almost unusable on my phone in its current state. If it doesn't fully crash while I'm using it (which it often does), the ads are so intrusive that some actually redirect me off the app, causing me to lose the page i was just on when i finally swap back to picrew. even the website has a ridiculous number of ads, but the app is way worse. this used to be an awesome time sink, but now i can't stand doing more than one at a time before the ads or the crashes make me give up.

I love the many styles of creation but there is a giant problem with both this app and the website for me. If I have any other tabs open, it crashes. Even if I don't, it crashes after about five minutes. it's really disappointing as I can never finish my creations. this bug has been happening for months, it's seriously upsetting. :(

It's great for making characters and oc's, but the ridiculous amount of ads and times the game will kick you out or crash for no reason is honestly making me question why I still have the game. please, for the love of God creators, fix this, its annoying and tedious to use the app.the sad thing is,the concept itself is very good and is a great place to, again, make characters, but with all the glitches and adds its really not worth it in the end.

I use this app very often to make OC's and it works very well! My only complaint is that the ads sometimes kick me off the character maker I'm using, or kicks me off when I accidentally close the app for even a split second.. It gets frustrating when I'm not able to favorite the one I was using before that happens and I can't find it again..

I love picrew and I've been using it on the website for years, been using the app but it randomly stopped letting me sign in with Google. it would give me the number to put in and then when I put it in the app crashed and I had to do it again. this cycle happened for over five minutes before I gave up. The app is usable without signing in but the app has a problem of crashing every time you exit the page, including ads. every time you get an ad the app crashes and you get ads regularly.

I am a big fan of the actual character makers, and the picrew artists behind them. But the ads are SO INTRUSIVE. When I first downloaded, there wasn't ads at all. Now I will click on a picrew, and it will take me to an ad first, but the ad is so intrusive that my picrew reloads on the main screen! I've lost picrews I wanted to do because of this. What prompted me to write a review is that I clicked on a picrew I wanted to do, and I got an ad for Snapchat WITH NO WAY TO CLOSE IT. Just an ad. 😮‍

Ads are horrible and they also take me to my web browser without my pressing anything, I ended up getting a double ad stacked on top of each other because one ad takes me to the app store, so when trying to exist the full screen ad it took me to app store three times when i was clearly pressing the x button then a second ad pops up over the first ad! Also. the game itself ends up slowing down so much that it closes itself out. I enjoy picrew but this app is not even close to being it.

Advertising is excessive. Use the browser version. I've loved this platform, however the app's pop-up ads take away from the experience. If you tap off the app to answer a text, you'll be given an ad, you'll recieve one when opening the app, then one upon opening a maker, and one after completing as well. There is an audio ad occasionally playing, and always an ad at the bottom of the screen. That's over 5 advertisements for 1 session if you don't stay on the app the whole time.

big fan of the website, but I find the ads running in the background of the app tend to overload it and it'll crash as soon as one pops up. it's a shame when companies sellout so much ad space that it makes things almost unusable. I was making an image, and it took 5 times with it crashing and then when I went to save it again crashed. I can't open the search box to look for someone, I can't save anything. I cant even have a loading screen. I deleted the app until I see reviews saying it's fixed

Would have been way better if their were no ads. anytime you click to edit something you get an ad. to make things worse they not easily skipible ads, you have to play them to get the stupid ad exit button to pop up. after you leave the ad picrew resets and your back to the main home page and to never see that original thing you wanted to edit in the first place. and you try to edit a different one and it's the same situation. Not recommend to download.

I've been using the website for a long time and I love it. I'm so excited that this is an app! I am really frustrated though because the number of ads make this app almost completely unusable. I just spent 10 minutes trying to log in, but I can't because every time I close this app to open a different one or even change screens within the app, a different ad shows up. I get that they need to make money, but this is ridiculous. I'd happily pay for no ads but there's no option for that.
