Seems to work great, but I'll use this maybe 2 or 3 times per year. would prefer NOT to be harassed with subscription options that make it look like I can't use it without subscribing. I can tolerate ads to help pay you for this low usage. Perhaps prompt for subscription only if a user accesse the application above some threshold. For those wanting to use it for free, just cancel past every prompt for "Free Trial." The free trial is just a grace period before subscription automatically starts.

Not free. Requires a subscription. No free version. I immediately uninstalled this, and the plant identifier they also make, once I opened it and it said free 7 day trial. I thought it would be fun to use to learn more about the birds in our yard, but I definitely won't be using it enough to be paying weekly, monthly or yearly for it. I wanted the plant identifier for when we camp but, that's also not worth it. I'll bring our book - free to use, got it from the thrift store.

Wow, my pictures are pretty low quality, taken through a window zoomed in on our bird feeders (when we get close up they fly away). The results are impressive. I haven't used any other bird apps for comparison. The kids and I were so excited, we saw over a dozen birds at the feeders and the results matched the few we knew (cardinal, red bellied woodpecker, catbird) and looked exactly right for all the little birds we haven't been able to identify on our own. Yay, we aren't bird ignorant anymore!

The app Isn't always correct but I love it everything else including that it is free. Also, many people claim that an ad pops up when you open the app about the free seven day trial. Yes, that popped up too on my phone. The only thing you have to do is press the arrow that is on the bottom of your phone that looks like this: > ( but pointing down ) and you are done and discover many things about birds. The same thing works with all the other apps this company made (I have all of them) thx :)

This app is amazing, disregard all of the people who complained about having a pay, if you press the back button when the payment comes up, everything that I use is completely free. You take a photo, have a photo of any bird and the app scans it and instantly pulls up a comprehensive profile of that bird. It does the same thing if you can hear a bird, the app will immediately identity it. It's very impressive. I definitely recommend it.

A few months back, the app will not show my photo gallery. I have customer service. After I tried what they recommended & didn't work, they stopped replying. It worked when I first subscribed. Can't find any settings in app or phone to look into. My only out is to cancel, but my renewal is thru June 2022. It is easier to take a picture and have app ID picture. It freezes up when I go to photo gallery.

So far so good, buuut there is a problem. When I go to the AI enhancer, it completely scrambles up the picture. Or if i take a picture of a random thing without a bird, it identifies a random bird. Ngl kinda funny tho. Other than that it is a pretty good app. It got me interested in birds, and I mainly use it to look for different species. Got to catch em all!! Shout out to the makers! 👍

Uninstalled immediately. I installed when it said free download, in-app purchases. I opened it to find out it was a 7 day free trial, and annual subscription after 7 days. It may be wonderful, but I didn't know it was a trial based thing before download. I probably would have been willing to pay for it, but disliked the sneaky way that was handled.

I havent been able to see any type of birds up close, other than a pigeon. But, almost every day I try to find some in my backyard. Just now, I spotted a female "Great Tailed Grackle", which I had spotted weeks ago. I hope this app actually works, instead of just recording your history and using the same birds. Anyways, this app is pretty good. Even though you need to buy some things, its been a great app to use. Also, I love the bug identifier app that you made too! (especially the ai).

This app is wonderful! Here, you can identify even ducks and chickens. You can identify by sound (record the bird singing) or by taking a picture of the bird. You can also search like a hundred types of birds. For instance, you type in "Cardinal"- and then it shows photos of the male, female, and sometimes the immature (young) bird. Then, you keep scrolling down and see the sounds of the bird. Keep scrolling to see the food they like, the type of feeder & the range, and much more! Top choice!

I Absolutely love the app Picture Bird. I have learned so much from this. App. I started feeding the birds approx. a year ago. I have so many different birds now. My Chickie (chickadee) visits me daily. Because of Picture Bird, I can recognize them. And I can tell who's outside because of the sounds. That Picture bird taught me & the birds have helped me with my mental health for sure. Words can not describe how excited I get when we have a new species of bird in the backyard. I tear up.

I like it a lot So I was just looking for some apps that an accurately identify birds, yk? So I practiced with my pets. I took a pre-existing pic and It identified the quail I had, which was awesome. It even supplies all kinds of example pictures, including a taxidermied one(She is a coturnix, for information). But then I took a less quality picture of my partridge and it still worked, granted he does stays still. But anyhow, cool app!

It doesn't always get it right, but when it does, it sticks to landing. i've identified 87 birds with this app alone, and it's done it very well. even non native birds. frankly you don't need a subscription, and perhaps the subscription does more, but with what I have for free, it's a really good app for bird watching.

Subscription service? But... Why? Merlin Bird ID does the same thing and is completely free. It's also extremely accurate. And if you want more details on bird species, you can also install and use the excellent Audubon app for free, which tells you about bird sightings in your area. I don't really see the point of paying for this app, especially considering that it's not a one-time payment. But of course, everything has to be subscription-based nowadays...

I initially signed up for the 7day free trial, but the full annual subscription fee was deducted from my account immediately. and then when I entered my first sound, I was given several bird options, none of which were correct. I now have a year-long subscription to an app that doesn’t even work, which is extremely disappointing.

Very good and it not only identified the bird but gave a lot of added information that was most helpful. Unfortunately we purposefully do not link any payment method. So being fare. It is a great app and sadly we have to remove the app. The trial appeared to be advertising free. But as it was only on the phone for a shot while what happens later cannot be commented on.

Lousy app. Took five pictures of the same bird and got five different results. Some of the results didn't even remotely look like the bird I had seen. For example, I took a picture of a bird of prey - a falcon or hawk. It came up with a helmeted guineafowl - a bird that is prey, and I don't even think it lives in North America. An improvement for this app would be using your location and, every time a picture is taken, it comes up with a bird that exists in your location.

I am very disappointed that I was charged the full subscription amount during a free trial just days after downloading the app without any fair warning. Update to response: Normally you get more than a few days during a trial before you are charged. That's the point of a trial. I already contacted you & was told by Sandy that I would have to request the refund from Google Play store. I did that and was denied it due to "insufficient evidence" despite sending a screenshot of when I was charged.

I was looking for an app where I can find out what a bird is based on the sounds it makes. Because not all birds are visible or able to immediately be found. I pointed my device in the direction of the bird making the sound and began recording it for the amount of time suggested to get a clear recording. This bird was quite close and loud enough, on the recording meter you can see the sound was being captured. Needless to say it didn't work. Pointless. The bird won't wait forever.

It seems to do well for smaller birds, but with raptors its only gotten 1 of 4 correct. Granted, Harriers around the world can look very similar, but it identified 1 as a red-tailed hawk, which is only in the Americas. I'm in Thailand. Is there a way to set a location or region so that it filters out birds that although similar, can't possibly be correct?
