The ads are ridiculously aggressive and remove all reason to use the app. If you go to try and save it loads a video ad that can't be closed to save your art. It's bad enough that I'm uninstalling this from my phone. Edit- ads are one thing. These are ads that take over the app and break it. Half the time they break the functionality of Pixlr itself so that I can't save or do the function I was trying to do in the first place.

The ads have ruined this app. I get you need people to pay for your services but a 30-second ad EVERYtime you save a photo? Close the ad just to have another screep pop up to wait 5 more seconds just to make sure you didn't want to download that BS game. Now to efficiently use the ap you have to pay for it. Also I can't find the photos anywhere anymore that I save. I have to share them to another app just to save them now. I have had this app for years now. Time for a new one. 5 stars to 0 now.

it's a really good app. I've been using it for about 10 years now if not longer. however, this mandatory having to purchase a premium account in order to edit more than three pictures has made me leave instead of making me pay. if you are going to charge people, it would be more feasible to have them pay per picture edited. if that's the case then instead of forcing them to buy a monthly premium package.

I used to really like this app, it had a lot of useful free tools and effects with no cap on how many photos you can edit and download. But ever since the most recent updates it now only allows you to edit and download only 3 pictures a day. I don't use the app enough to justify a $79.99 sub. I will just have to find another app to use, damn shame.

If I could do zero stars I would. I have had this app for 10+ years, since it was released pretty much. I used to have to go between 3 different editing apps to get all the edits I needed for one photo. When I found Pixlr I deleted every other app I had. But now, I'm back on the hunt for a new editing app since they have limited how many "free" edits I'm allowed to do a day, which is only 3. Such a huge disappointment, this was my favorite app to use!

Used to be my go-to photo editing app, but now it sucks. A majority of it is only for paid users, and as a free user, you only get 3 free saves per day. Photo edits don't even save 'correctly' - I have had several with random marks on them (They look like paint smudges?? Idk, it's weird). It makes me sad because I have honestly used this app for several years.

Another good photo editer ruined by greed and AI. Ads will glitch the saving process and cause you to lose your work, forcing you to become frustrated and pay. Apparently they also limit the amount of free edits you can make in a day now. Saw that pop up on the blank screen where it froze during the saving process. I used Pixler for nearly a decade, and none of this was an issue before they added AI features. Wanted to give it a chance, but I'm done with it now.

Ive had this app for years and it used to be my go to picture editing app but I might have to find something different now that you only get three free saves a day. it's ridiculous. it used to be free with maybe an ad here or there but now you have to pay 5 dollars a week or 80 dollars a year? it's not worth it. very disappointed.

I don't know why it's investing in A.I. when it's editing tools are stuck in 2006. The heal tool barely works right, colorize doesn't work at all, the effects literally have not changed since it was launched. Plus the ads after an edit now that I could have done in my built in phone editor? Really disappointing. I used this since the beginning but have to find an actual working editing app now because it's too far behind.

This app was great....until it wasn't. I don't mind all the ads, even though they are pretty ridiculous. The fact that I can only do 3 exports a day? Not even worth it. If I was able to buy the app, I would. But the subscription service is not worth it. I will be looking for a better app that let's me edit photos.

This newer, heavily AI Pixlr really sucks! I've been a regular, loyal user, but now the ads are seriously interfering. additionally, my pictures are not all saving, so where are they going??? Also, only being able to save three a day is cutting into my creativity, as I might go days or weeks without manipulating my photos and then want to do many at one time. I DO NOT want to support AI, so please stop trying to team it down my throat😡

Started good....but they've gone downhill. I have used Pizlr exclusively for editing. It was an app I downloaded on a whim for editing that I never deleted. Here I am years later and now I can only save three images a day, without having to pay $5.99. The ads were getting way more frequent but I tolerated it because I understand there are business needs but this has gotten out of control. This app is no longer useful. I will be deleting it.

used to be the best but now it's WAY too expensive for what you get. This was my go to for years. Now they're charging for everything and heavily limiting how much you can do in a day. I can't even finish one project before I have to pay again or wait 24 hours. it's crazy horrible now. AVOID The response below this mentions their "Pixlr Plus" plan BUT that's not an option on the app or anywhere I can find. the only options I am given is either $79.99/yr or $5.99/WEEK (!) both w limited credits

This app used to be good, even with a reasonable premium plan that I was willing to pay. But now it's sold it's soul to AI Slop, and is now consumed by greed. I'm not paying $80 a year for a photo editing app, just to help you support you garbage AI option that I WILL NOT be using. And only 3 edits a day, then I have to pay if I want to edit more. You've all lost the plot. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

Ive been here since the beginning, found it on Facebook a decade(?) ago. I referred everyone to this app because it's a GOOD app. Until a sneaky little update sometime in the last 3 days; and suddenly, you have to pay to edit/save more 3 photos? Nono... that's absurd. I can't afford the subscription, but would intentionally watch the ads to help support things. I'm super disappointed in yall. I can photoshop on the computer. This was the best to edit on the phone. Please go back to how it was

Is pixlr purchase only now? I see a new option that says "free saves: 0/3 today." When I click save, the only option is for buying credits. I've been using this app for YEARS, understanding that if I use it now, MY images that I'm editing may be fed into the training data. While not ideal, I understood that trade-off. but doing that AND forcing purchase, when I just want to rotate an image and make it a bit more vibrant, that's a deal breaker.

I can't give 5 stars to an app that I was paying $16.99 per year for the premium version that I just paid in May of this year 2025. The latest rendition has come out & the yearly price for premium went up tremendously. It's not just twice as much, it's 471% more than my previous subscription price. They added AI & jacked up the prices to a ridiculous amount! Yes I was willing to pay $16.99 per year & I'd consider it at 2x $16.99 ($34.98). But $79.95 per year?? 471% higher is downright criminal!

So I used to pay for this app but when I paid the premium features were limited and not worth it at the time. So I stopped payment but this free app was amazing and I just had to see ads. Now you're forced to pay for stuff I don't see advertised or even an offer to try them out when opening the app and you only get three saves/day. Rather spend money towards apps that actually show me features and still let me work on the app for free no limits. Not using app anymore after years of use. Too bad.

I've been using pixlr for YEARS, like a decade. All of a sudden (November 2025) the app limits you to three free photo saves in a day and you have to upgrade to the paid version if you need more. Absolutely ridiculous, I will be deleting pixlr from my phone. As if the endless, unskippable ads weren't enough revenue for them.

I've used this app for years. I tolerated the ads when they started pushing their premium plans. Now suddenly I am only allowed 3 saves a day unless I switch to a paid plan. I was considering upgrading to a better plan, but now that I can no longer use the app for the basic things I've used for years, I no longer want anything to with this app. Uninstalling.
