PlayStation App

Not sure why, but the last few months I get a notification for EVERY game that goes on sale and it takes multiple days to send them all because it sends one every few hours. It's very annoying. It used to just send one notification that said items from my wish list were on sale and I would go check it. It needs to be fixed.

Very laggy with message delays. Doesnt properly display friend list to show if online or not. Imagine having a 2 step verification, changing your number, then trying to sign back in. backup codes are on a destroyed device, then it's impossible getting in contact with Playstation. terrible customer service, they avoid you on purpose by hiding contact information.

After the last update the app crashes constantly. If you type a message then put your phone down, when you go to send another message it reloads the app, you have to wait for that, then it takes you to the main screen NOT the conversation you were just having. Then you have to press chats, then find the chat again. It's even buggier than before. I get constant background notifications that the app is unstable and keeps closing. Thanks.

The PS app used to be good, but now I can't even sign in. For some reason, I was suddenly signed out while looking at game prices and deals on the app. I tried signing back in, but the new sign-in methods are terrible. I no longer have access on my phone or anything, and the passkey doesn't work at all. This has frustrated me to the point that I'm giving up on trying. I prefer the original sign-in method of just email and password, nothing else. Now it's pointless to even waste my time with it.

The Playstation App was working great for me for a long time, and now for some reason the Playstation stars feature is gone. When I click where it is SUPPOSED to be, it opens and then quickly closes and gives an error message. I have accrued a lot of points, probably 20-40 Dollars worth. I can't be sure though, as I CAN'T USE THEM. this really does need to be fixed.

I like the app and use it very regularly. Makes it easy to make purchases and manage games on my PS5. Great to get notifications when friends come online and see what they're playing. Can even join chat if I'm not near my PS5. For months now, even after the recent update, I get "Well, that didn't work. Can't load games" over and over and over. Seems to be happening more often than not now. No amount of cache clearing or resetting app or anything seems to fix it.

Simple stuff doesn't work. I don't know about all the big things, but Simple stuff like redeeming online codes are impossible. And then trying to find support for the app, also impossible. "Support" leads to a rabbit hole of refunds or hardware issues and "Feedback" is little more than 'tell us how we're doing.' Other than just buying digital content, Sony is happy to make sure that works.

Okay, seriously. Fix this problem. I can't even sign in or log in, says "connection to server has timed out.", and I couldn't even ask for help because it said that it directed me too many times which is weird. I've been trying for days to get in and it's useless. You're going to lose people if this problem isn't fix- I mean I can't even get IN in order to actually see if the app is worth my time or not. Please fix this issue. Until then, I'm keeping the one star.

The app is OK. It's useful for shopping for new games or adding free monthly games to your library while on the go. But, it has lots of problems. Trophy lists are not accurate. It very often shows your own trophies as someone else's. The biggest annoyance is that the app sends push notifications when someone messages you, but when you click on it you are told you have to download a completely different app to look at the message. And, this notification can't be turned off. Why?? So dumb.

This app has been very useful for quickly browsing through things such as the PSN store, my friends list, and viewing trophies in games. Something I've been wishing they'd change for a while now is the way you view people's trophies so you only see what they have unlocked. If you and someone else share a common game, you will see the icons of the trophies YOU'VE unlocked when viewing THEIR list, and the only way to know what they have or have not unlocked is to view each individual trophy. A very minor thing, but it would be a welcome update.

New UI looks great visually, but so far the built in PS store is pretty messy. The removal of the wishlist and older games was bad enough, but lists are far too short so unless you manually type a game title, you may not find what you're looking even though you know it exists. Also, when going through sales lists, there's a lot of duplicate listings (not different versions IE: deluxe editions, etc, but the same version of games are listed twice) and the list will freeze and become unresponsive.

Being able to browse and buy games from your phone is a billion times better than trying to do so on the console itself, once you start using this app you'll be forever frustrated by having to buy a games on other consoles. There's also a few other useful tidbits, like being able to message friends, looking at your library, managing downloads on your console (if it's in sleep mode), but the main draw is browsing and purchasing on the app. And that feature *alone* is worth a dozen stars.

Literally completely unhelpful with any issues you bring forward, and then if you select the wrong type of "help", they basically tell you you're SOL until tomorrow. I've got a problem that isn't even that hard to fix on their end, and because I didn't select the correct kind of help, I now have to wait 24 hours. Thanks playstation, very helpful 😊

Not a fan of the update. The playstation store layout is awkward and annoying. I really don't like that the wishlist is gone. I had over 40 games in my wishlist that I was keeping an eye on for when there were deals, right there when I wanted to purchase a game and future games coming out. I have to look up every game, which sounds like I'm being lazy and just complaining, but it was a useful tool. The new store layout is just not good. Just one man's opinion.

New update to the PS Store is a major downgrade. Wishlists are gone which is what I used to keep track of the games I wanted to buy. Browsing through the store is slow and painful now that they only show you box covers instead of easy to read text. Many box covers are hard to read and don't differentiate between full games and addons. This new layout is going lead to me purchasing a much smaller number of games in the future do to the new increased difficulty of finding anything.

Messages no longer work on the app. Since PS4 and PS5 have no way of transferring images and videos taken on the console, I usually send the images/videos to a friend via messages and download them from the messages on the app. I tried to do that today, and it won't work. All the messages say "Something went wrong. Unable to load party. Try again later." The PlayStation brand has really gone downhill in the past year, since the PS5 came out.

It's an OK app, needs some improvement. When searching for games in the PS Store, based on genres that they are categorized in, seems like a big mess. If I was searching for a 3rd person shooter game, it is much harder to seek it out. The way one looks for the trophies on the app is more harder, unless played recently. The new playstation stars, that just launched, still has some kinks in it as well. I guess will have to see how it goes in the long run.

Don't waste your time on this garbage... It never works, always crashes, games that are in the PlayStation store Do not show up when you search for them, More than 50% of the time when you're trying to load something like the sales page or your photo gallery it shows a blank page that just says "something is missing" after waiting for it to load. This app only works like 8 percent of the time. I've made numerous complaints and spoken with tech support/customer service with no luck... 🗑️

I have used this app for many years and I am overall very pleased with my experience with it. Recently though, every time I go to type a message it lags out and freezes my phone. Whenever I go to send an image it will tell me it didn't send and when I click the retry button it'll send it twice. It also has become difficult to join parties. My internet connection could be perfect but it still has these issues. If Playstation could please fix these issues that'd be great.

Laggy and unintuitive. Often need to go to the website to complete a transaction or verify some notification. It'll log you out after some time and force you to login + verify and their "anti-bot" verification is horrendously slow, tedious and inaccurate. Additionally, it's a pain that this thing wants an update every few days and will block you from using the app until you update. So yeah, the whole experience just keeps getting worse. I really do miss the app from a few years ago.
