PNC Mobile is unfortunately a bare bones app with long-standing issues and bugs. For starters, there's no way to toggle multi-factor authentication for passwords only--if you have them on they're automatically on for biometric logins as well. The MFA asks two separate questions about phone number and call/text EVERY TIME, there's no default. If the app times out you're forced to use a password--but if you do it automatically turns off biometrics.

App is problematic and often turns of biometrics. then when i do log in it just spins and doesn't open. this happens often and is super annoying. I have to try to log in several times or just wait a few hours. stop turning off biometrics. its on for a reason. Tonight's excuse is because I either updated my user name and password (I did not) and the other was because I haven't use biometrics in a while. that is also wrong because I use it every day. Do Better

It takes multiple attempts to sign in to this app now. I get every error message now whenever I try to sign in. None of the troubleshooting methods work. This is pretty effing frustrating. It takes anywhere from 2 to 30 attempts to sign in, EVERYTIME I try to sign into this app. I thought maybe I could live with it, but... EVERY. SINGLE. EFFING. TIME. This is some very specific form of torture if I'm the only one having this problem.

it is always hanging up. it has to be the app because I dont have problems with the others. 1/23/26. it seemed like it got better for a little while last year, but it started 'quit working' (my most technical explanation) all the time. I have to continuously uninstall and reinstall the app. I have other bank apps and they never do this. I am not using the biometrics so.that isnt my issue.

Seems to always have one bug or another. Won't advance after editing a transaction category on the register. The page is blank white and nothing happens. The only option is to close/restart. *2025 Update... This app has only gotten worse since the system wide upgrade this summer. Every time try to do anything in the app it shuts down. Making it virtually useless! Going online via computer isn't much better, many functionalities still don't work. Always errors.

The app has constant issues, cant tell you how many times I've been unable to access my account due to constant outages. As of right now I have been unable to access my account for a week straight due to the app stating that I do not have network connection when I do, and believe me when I say I've tried everything on my end to get it working again.

When the app works, it works adequately. Nothing spectacular. My beef is that PNC's apps have a relatively horrible up-time. There's always a 20% chance that when I try to check my account balances it'll say that the service is unavailable. I've never seen so much down time with a major bank. 1/10 would not recommend PNC. 2/5 would only recommend the app(s) for those who don't need consistent reliability. 12 mo Update: I can't leave this app low enough stars. Worst banking app I've ever used.

I've read a few of the comments! I'm not having an issue with biometrics! My concern is depositing! Is anyone else having a problem with the app recognizing the amount of a check when depositing? That is the issue I'm having! Sometimes it's a pain because when I go to the branch, even the ATM has a problem with accepting checks, period! Either way, could we try to fix the situation in the app? It would he much appreciated if you could do that!

Somehow this app got even worse. It is completely unusable. I can't deposit checks, I can't pay bills, I can't even look at my account activity. On the rare occasion that it seems to work, it will give me confirmation of a transfer or deposit, but when I check back later, there's no evidence the transaction went through. Almost missed a payment because of this. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Guess it's back to old fashioned banking for now.

This app cannot remember biometrics, refuses to show my info between midnight and 4a, especially on weekends, and has frequent issues just getting a cursor to appear in the username and password fields. Their website is not much better. I have been with this bank since 2000 and these issues started about 2 years ago with no improvement. I will be leaving this year due to these tech failings, which sucks because they are pretty good at being a bank.

I have 3 banking apps and this is by far the glitchiest. I've used PNC Mobile for years; it is constantly being updated but it never gets any less glitchy. It logs you out constantly, you have to restart things like depositing a check over and over because of glitches. Even getting your routing and account numbers is inconvenient. Not that you have a choice if you bank with PNC, but I would never recommend this app. Update December 2025: no improvement. if anything it is worse.

App crashes pretty often & it won't give me a cardless ATM code about 25% of the time. Disappointing app, but not bad enough that I'm ready to find another bank because of it. Update: 11/6/25 Initially hoped that there would be improvement after big scheduled mo I'll banking upgrade they did last month. Sadly, no improvement. Update 11/22/25: haven't been able to change the date to schedule a payment since the beginning of the month. The only use this app has now is generating cardless ATM code.

When I'm actually in the app it's perfectly fine, but logging in is becoming such a hassle. I wish I could post a picture of the login screen. It keeps deleting my biometric data and when I put my password it just bugs out. I've started needing to actually delete and reinstall the app to make it work. It's gotten worse over the last couple months. Hoping there's a fix to it soon. I usually never review, but it's getting bad. Edit: It's just worse now. I have to reinstall constantly. Please fix.

I would like the mobile to be similar, ideally mirror, the online site as far as usability and user interface. Additionally, the app font is very off-putting. I would think the change in font or choice in fonts could be a quick improvement while overall usability improvement is being programmed. Investing in these changes would be targeted at all demographics. Thank you.

When the app works, it does most of what you would want out of a banking app. I frequently am unable to log in due to "No Network Connection" when I am on multi-gigabit Wi-Fi or getting errors within the app when trying to deposit funds. Biometrics also frequently reset and you have to set it back up often. If they could fix those bugs, it would be a totally usable banking app. As-is, it's pretty hard to continue using PNC.

Just a generally bad app. It consistently has connection problems and despite being "worked on" consistently as well, it somehow still never works right. Like a lot of other reviews here I can confirm it doesn't work even half the amount of times I try to use it. Actually going to an ATM is often less of a hassle.

Continually freezes. Does not read stamped endorsements well - even those issued by PNC. At times, it just shuts down. I recently received a pop-up while using the app. It froze in the middle of doing the evaluation. At the beginning of May, this App was not available because it was to be updated. It's worse. First, upon entering the login information, it wouldn't login. Second. every few minutes, it freezes making it necessary to close and log back in. - very frustrating

I've had this mobile banking app for several years with no issues. Over the past several months I have not been able to log on. Message: Network error has occured. I check my connection, surprise I'm connected. PNC online works fine. No connection issues. I use the mobile app for check deposits. Very frustrating!!! It would be a great feature to have check deposit on the online app.

Does everything I want it to do, as long as it's before midnight. Literally, I love being able to take care of everything I want to without going to an actual bank, but for some reason, after midnight, the app is useless. It won't load anything. It tells you features, like looking at your transaction history or transferring between accounts, are unavailable. I've been just dealing with it but it's 2am and all o did was try to log in and see my balance and that feature is unavailable.

Worst app ever!! I have being changing password every other day since the updated version. It's so frustrating, nothing like the old. Was in line and trying to transfer money always results in error. Had to make a call and wait for 15 - 20 minutes to find out why, only to change passwords again. Makes you want to throw the app across the floor! Been like this for a couple of months now. If this doesn't fix soon I'm switching banks!
