Pocket Chess – Chess Puzzles

Good resource for chess exercises. however there are some puzzles where your "best" moves aren't what the puzzle is looking for. In a couple of puzzles the kings sometime have other spaces they can move too besides the ones the puzzle decides to move them too. Which may cause you to spend some coins if you get stuck because the most forcing move isn't always the correct move in the puzzle.

daily puzzles are challenging and fun. But there is way too many ads. you get one puzzle done, and then you have the multi step ads. Where you got to play hopscotch to skip it or else it opens the app store. it's okay overall. most won't want to sit through more than 2 puzzles at a time before moving to something else.

The puzzles are excellent. the problem is the ads. they are frequent and super annoying. I know the ads have to be sold to pay for the game, but they should be easier to get rid of, then having to go for a second to the Google Play store, then close that window, to get the cancellation x, to get back to the game. make the ads easier to get rid of, or I don't know how long much longer I'm going to play this wonderful game.

its alright, but there are ads after every single puzzle. seriously, a few seconds of a puzzle and an ad that last longer than the puzzle. start a new puzzle? ad. Ruins the fun. i understand the ads are needed, but its every click and solve. Makes me close it instead of play it. put the ads at a particular spot, or atleast not after every single puzzle.

I was really enjoying the game until it started spamming with ads. I dont mind ads, however, I do mind when there are 2 ads played back to back between a level. And to top it off, it glitched so both ads were being shown at once and the arrow to speed through the ad was like 1 second long before it disappeared forcing me to watch the entire ad which was annoying. I give 3 stars for the game though just because I like the puzzles.

So far this is the best chess puzzle game I have ever played in my life. The puzzles at the first few levels are very beginner friendly, and the way this game works reminds me of the game Flow. The best part? This game does not penalize you for getting the puzzles wrong, and you have unlimited tries per puzzle. I know the ads are a bit annoying from time to time, but I don't think they are annoying enough to lower the star rating, as they are not invasive. Good job guys!

It is great training for endgame chess no doubt. My early and midgame is aggressive and strong, but my endgame is weak. This app helps, but like in all the other reviews, the ads are rough to suffer through. They pop up after every other mini game for me, and it's annoying. I understand the ads are how free games make money, but this is alot of ads. Lmao

It's not bad, but some of the solutions don't actually work... So far, I'm at level 232 and there have been 3 or 4 where there is 0 chance the opponent would have made the move they did and I've had to spend several hundred coins to figure out what the app wants me to do... For the most part though, it's fun. I would just say have someone else double check your puzzle logic before creating a level...

Fun! But, the ads are REALLY ANNOYING! One after each puzzle!They not only cover up the playing area, they screw with you trying to avoid being closed. Also, after only a few puzzles, I was asked to rate the ap. As soon as I did, BAM, the ads started happening. But, NANNER-NANNER! I know how to come back an edit my rating!! Eat that poopy programmer!! But, it is possible to pay $5 to allegedly "Stop the ads". I'm just not ready to give that a try. The shady practices up front have me suspicious!

Great chess puzzle game. Well thought out. Challenging. Why 2 stars? Banner ads that play sounds, music, some voices. Absolutely not.. That's horrible. Listening to chill music while playing and suddenly blaring niose from the banner ad. That's very insulting to your players. I'm playing it much less than I would otherwise. Likely to uninstall soon.

Entertaining for a little, until you finish the puzzles. More levels haven't been added in the entire year I had this, plus the weekend events just use recycled levels and hope you won't notice. Would be a good game if it wasn't so lazy. Also, it freezes after every ad now. So free daily coins aren't possible, and you need to force close the app every time you get a normal ad.

Lobe the concept, but the ads are too long/frequent to really have fun. The puzzles are solved within about 15 seconds, and an ad plays after every other puzzle (or more) and they last about 20-30 seconds. It feels like 50% of my time is spent in ads. I understand that app devs need to make money, but this format is not conducive to an enjoyable game.

So far it's pretty fun. Loving the feel of chess with a new vibe and puzzles to it. 👍 *edit* Was 5 stars, because when I started there was only the small permanent ad at the bottom. But, once I progressed and the game asked me to rate it, I started getting pop up ads after almost every round. Still a fun game, so for now I'll keep playing. *edit again* As I was playing more, the ads became even more frequent to the point of an ad after every round. I was really enjoying it before the ads. Sad.

A decently fun puzzle game that shows you an ad after every single level. Seems normal so then why give it two stars? Because they have ads that require you to go to the play store 6 times to close. I'm not missing the x. I'm using 2 hands to very carefully ensure I'm hitting the x dead on. Yet it still takes me to the play store 3 times, then closes the first page of the ad, then brings me to another page where I have to repeat the process. Not cool.

Great puzzles, but it is buggy and sluggish. The game takes up more and more memory as you complete more levels. Somewhat afraid to clear the memory as i dont want to lose all my progress until I complete them all. If the game takes a while to "think", you can jump out of the puzzle and back into it and watch the puzzle reset and then the computer makes a move when its not its turn, or better yet, you can actually capture the king and the app says you failed cause there is no king to mate! 3/5

Nice way to kill time and learn chess if you're into hands on learning. I play whenever I need to occupy my time. Ads are pretty annoying as per usual but skipable for the most part. On that note, the banners of ads aren't all over the place from my experience. The controls are very straightforward and help you learn how each piece moves on the board. And if you ever get stuck you can always get a hint to move yourself along, though it cost a hundred coin(in-game currency) that is very earnable

I'm giving it a 4 because I just started play and at level 40. Initially at the start of the game didn't like ads. They offered 5.oo to stop ads and give you 5000 coins. Felt that was a fair deal. And seems when they offer free coins, you can collect or double by watching an add. Not bad. Hopefully that 5.00 holds up. I love the practice with this game. So far played a lot of mate in 2. May not be the smartest chess player but I enjoy trying to solve the moves, seeing both defense and offense.

Would have probably played more but after a dozen puzzles or so it asks to rate the game. Right after that point it plays a full screen ad between every puzzle and breaks the flow. I don't know the profit dynamics behind the scenes; but I'm sure the ad scroll at the bottom and my analytics are good revenue. It shouldn't warrant a full screen ad every puzzle. Uninstalled.

Just hit lvl 700, thought I'd drop a review. This is a great time killer for me and has taught me to see a few more angles than I used to on a chess board. It's definitely not a hard game but it still gives good challenges every 10 levels. The events are great but annoying to hit ads during since you could be short on time to complete the event. I do wish you offered skins for the pieces and boards using the in-game gold. Otherwise, thank you for consuming my time. Keep up the good work!

This is a great chess puzzle app. Not going to say it's fantastic for improving your game but I'm definitely looking at moves very differently. However the number of ads is absurd. Just about every 1-2 puzzles. Totally understand needing to generate income. However, you can easily spend more time watching ads than playing. That's simply disrespectful.
