something happened recently and the app just does not work right anymore. it takes forever to load or not at all, it's horrific on Android auto as you can't fast forward in the episodes, you can't pick a new episode from the car screen, most of the time I have to completely shut down the app on my phone and restart it to get it to work in the car, plus it does not update very well in the car to show the new podcasts that show up on the app I don't want to uninstall and start over but I'm close

This is a more friendly app than Spotify! You can see the most recent episode of your subscriptions in the free version, unlike Spotify. The only downsides are my subscriptions have disappeared multiple times. I'm hesitant to update or upgrade for that reason. Downloads are also temporary and delete without warning, so double check before going offline. The free version is very good. It doesn't have all the widgets but it's easy to use. You can turn notifications for new episodes on & off.

Very well designed app, once you figure out the menus. Navigating around them is a bit confusing even with practice. The other glitch is that it does not do a great job of telling you what episodes you have finished. In many cases I finish one but it is not marked as such. I thought the app was good enough to purchase the ad free version. I removed a star since the app no longer finds and downloads URL feeds from paid subscriptions. Each week I have to reenter the URL. I switched apps.

This could be one of the best podcast apps in the Play Store, but there are a few glitches. For me, the biggest one is not letting me alpbabetize my podcast list. I listen to hundreds of podcasts and they are listed by when you subscribed. That's asinine. And some podcasts stop streaming after a little while and won't delete when done. Fix these issues and you would be a top contender for best podcast app.

Used this app for quite some time now. Just recently it has started to turn to utter garbage. The app constantly crashes when paused, losing your spot in the podcast you were listening to. Also when switching between bluetooth in my vehicle, to earbuds, or vice versa it crashes as well. Everything is up to date, and have even tried re-installing a few times. Looks like this is another app for the garbage can.

This appears to be the least worst podcast app for android. 2 or 3 stars; it's on the border. The way that it deals with playlists and subscriptions is pretty frustrating. When autoplaying, it will ignore whether or not you've already listened to an episode when deciding which to play next; this is super frustrating, for example, when you're driving and can't pick up your phone and navigate to another episode and do things that it should do for you like kick off old episodes from "my playlist".

I don't know why episodes that are completed, are still under "unfinished" even though they show "complete" and I have to "remove from playlist" repeatedly and episodes keep popping back up. It makes it frustrating to listen to in the car, because episodes I've already listened to keep playing. I'd also like to be able to make 2 play lists, one for family friendly content, and one for grown up content.

Tried reaching out to have app fixed a year ago or so. If paused for more than a few seconds, the player will close, forcing you to bring the app up, reload the podcast, and set the playback speed again once you've reloaded. When opening a large collection of pods such as the JRE it takes a long time to load the list. You have to set playback speed every time you play a podcast. The forward button skips the whole episode rather than a few secs. I'm glad better apps have come out for android

I've used this for a while but have to rate it low due to an annoying bug. It occurs when I try to download multiple episodes from 1 podcast. For some reason, they download separately but keep downloading a single episode's same MP3 file. Deleting one of them will then delete all of them. Also another important feature it seems to be missing is showing podcasts in the order you listened to them, like YouTube does. Just showing them as 'completed' is not all that useful.

It works. It's only moderately annoying with ads. The reason I'll find another app is that it's pretty poorly designed, regarding user convenience; too much unnecessary navigation is required to go to your favorite subscriptions, return to your place in a list of episodes, etc. It's minimal, but gets old fast if you listen to a lot of podcasts.

This app is so frustrating. After every update, there end up being so many quirky yet very irritating issues. Like currently -- a podcast is downloaded and then when I go to my downloads, it's not there. Or I download a number of podcasts, as I do, then the next morning none are in my downloads. Then there's the reoccurring issue -- a podcast that I've downloaded says it's not and then when I try to remove it, it won't go away.

Pretty good podcast app. You can find new podcasts easily and there are lots of ways to customize. [edit 4/5/19] Changing from 4 stars to 1, as the app isn't working properly anymore. Been having some issues with downloaded episodes not showing as downloaded and other weirdness related to downloading. But now it won't play a downloaded podcast for more than a minute or two. It just stops, and the lock screen widget disappears too so I can't even restart the playback without getting into the phone

OK overall. Some issues: (1) It sometimes takes me many tries to download an episode. I click the download button, the episode starts playing, I stop it, try to download again, it starts playing again. Annoying. (2) I can't list episodes for a podcast unless I'm online, even if I just downloaded several episodes of that podcast, which is useless if I'm on a plane or otherwise not online.

Overall good app that provides a decent amount of podcasts. Two main negatives that lower my rating is that: 1) Some podcasts randomly stop playing in the middle of episodes or just keep buffering until the main screen reappears. Doesn't happen to all series equally and I've found it's not related to connectivity. 2) A lot of dead podcasts that haven't been updated in years are still available, so review dates before getting interested in a series.

I like the Simplicity and I like the look. However it's difficult to figure out what podcast you actually subscribe to. They're not listed on the home screen or if they are there buried with many other possible podcast options that you are not subscribed to. This is the only podcast player I've ever found that does not have and intuitive way to manage your podcasts.

The ads on this app are really annoying. The first day I used it I thought it was pretty good but then a little pop up asked me if I wanted to purchase the app. After saying no the ads started in force. I get having one on the main screen or underneath a search queue but they pop up when you go to search or pull up a podcast and are full screen and obnoxious.

Used to use for years. Ease of use is incredible. But the random skips to the beginning and stopping makes the app useless when trying to do anything while listening (which is what we ALL use them for). Absolute waste of time. The biggest thing is the complete inability to organize podcasts and have it stay. More wasted time. Nope.

Sadly when I download more than one episode they overwrite each other. So if I hit play on one, the other will play instead. There are a handful of other little irritating glitches. But being only able to basically download 1 show and listen to it is really irritating. I am going to find another podcatching app and hopefully this one fixes their issues.

Something happened with a recent update, but an app that worked great - a few hours every day with no issues for over a year, is suddenly unusable. Any time I need to pause, I lose my place in the episode and typically have to close the app and reopen for it to play again at all. Even that doesn't work sometimes. Super disappointed and looking for a new app for podcasts :(

look elsewhere.. this app has a lot of bugs. I'd close the app or pause a podcast, turn my phone off and the podcast would start playing again. This happened about every other time I used the app. I'd have to reopen the app, pause the podcast and shut the app down again to get the podcast to stop playing. I deleted it after receiving several updates with no solution to this problem.
