I used to love this player, but now I am not so impressed. Initially my only complaint was there is no ability to create folders or flag podcasts I am following, so organizing downloads by genre is not an option. Recent changes have removed the limited control we had to organize downloads. Not a problem if you have a short list of podcasts you follow; disorganized mess if you do. I'm looking for more user-friendly app to switch to. So long Podbean, and thanks for all the fish!

Used it for years until the latest "downdate" as I call it. I HATE AND DESPISE the new sort. I want a list of all downloads, grouped by podcast, which you used to have, for years and years. Podbean was the best app! Easy. Just let them roll. Now our choice is to drill into each show tile OR have a list of all downloads, shows mixed together. We can't see all downloads in a simple list AND group by show anymore. Why. Why? edited: Podcast Republic works great! seeya podbean

Lowering my review after a recent update. Now downloaded episodes are split by podcast rather than in one large list so when I catch up on one podcast the next backlog doesn't start playing. Also sorting new to old when downloading episodes carries over the sorting to browsing downloaded episodes. So if you don't change the sorting and play episode 390 the next one to be played may not end up being 391. Currently looking for a new app.

Honestly the only podcasting app I use. No audio ads while you listen, a simple search and feedback system for my favorite podcasts, and you can download episodes for offline listening. I've been using it for years without a cent and it's brought me so many hours of uninterrupted company while on long drives, full of laughs and good stories. Here's to you, Podbean. Edit: and it's only $20 for a **year** of premium?? Yep, y'all have more than earned the support. Keep it up.

So far, I like Podbean better than all of the other podcasting apps I've used. Most of the other big names that have podcasts, don't seem to let me connect to the ones I ACTUALLY want to listen to, which is super frustrating. Podbean lets me listen to ones I'm interested in, which have value to me, and aren't endorsed by the huge studios, and censor voices they don't like! High quality app!

I'm not a huge podcast consumer, but I do have a few subscriptions. Podbean is my first podcast app, and I find most features great. My biggest complaint, which is shared with others, is that it randomly starts playing after using it in the car. I turn off the car and exit the vehicle, and my phone starts playing the podcast (whether I was listening to it or not). It's finally enough of a frustration to find another player as this has been an issue for some time without a correction.

Update: Found another free podcast app where the volume does not spike. AntennaPod. I found all of my programs that I had in Podbeam. Goodbye! ** Ad volume goes up REALLY loud! I'll give it an 80 out of 100. The aggravation is when you are listening to a program at a very comfortable volume, but you're shocked out of your comfort zone when the advertisements come blaring in! Updated the app. No change in ad volume spikes. Don't mind the ads. But why so LOUD!! What the heck!

Really good app. However, there are some problems to make it improve app performance. 1. Sometimes, downloading episodes stops working completely. I mean, all the downloads stops. To fix it, you have to delete all (ALL) downloading episodes and redownload them again. 2.when you want to select episodes, all the details of podcasts and episodes aren't shown. You have to guess them. 3. Pleae add pitch black theme to your app. 4. Also, there's no pause all, stop all or start all button for download.

After the update I did today, the sound has quit. Well, it's been awhile. My sound works now, but it keeps stopping and giving me the error 2002 that says "connection timeout". I have no idea what this means or why it keeps stopping every couple of minutes. Sometimes it goes days without doing it, and suddenly does it constantly. This app pains me. I don't know why I still use it. Almost 3 years later now. Still using it. Been much better, but after the last update, it's back to stopping.

This has to be the worst podcatcher in the play store, I can only assume all the positive reviews were paid for. If you'd like to listen to a podcast only for the player to automatically rewind 60s so you think you're losing your mind, or if you'd like your podcast player to just totally forget where you left off in your playlist, or if you enjoy using needlessly confusing UIs, then this is the app for you.

It's meh. Biggest problem, I've got to pay $10/year so I don't have to click three screens in order to see what's new. (In other words, the "discover" tab is the landing page by default. In order to change it to the podcasts I follow, there's an upcharge.) Apparently, the business strategy is to make an app that only works sort of well, and then ask us for money to make it work like it should.

I've tried multiple podcast apps over the past 5-6 years and this one has quickly become my favorite. Loving the app so far as it has most of what I'm looking for. So much so, that I already subscribed! Just would love the ability to limit downloads to the latest 2-3 episodes, and better filtering options for searching as categories are very broad. Also, as a multilingual person, it would help to be able to search by podcast language.

This is the only podcast app I've ever had, that constantly stops in the middle of an episode. It just stops, no error message, no prompts. I'll have to reopen the app as many times as 10 times in an hour. This isn't related to my internet connection, or wi-fi, it's just this app. I've been dealing with this for months, and the recent update did nothing to help. The error isn't related to a specific show, or episode. It's any show I play through Podbean.

I find this app quite frustrating. If it's front end was designed a bit more competently, it could be a great app. There's apparently no way to make a queue, other than making a "Playlist of your favorite episodes", which is just weird, it's PC integration is horrible, and intended for uploading original podcasts, not listening to existing ones. There's no way to limit the number of episodes in your pre-built "new" Playlist of all followed podcasts, causing hourly news pods to stack up. Almost.

When the podcast player I was using became abandonware, I looked at a bunch of players. This one was the best I found. The company seems very responsive, which is a big plus. My one concern is the app also allows you to publish your own podcasts; that seems to be the main focus of the company. Does that mean the player functions will get less attention? So far, at least, though, no complaints. (Their Facebook group is exclusively for podcasters, not listeners, alas.)

I'd give it 5 stars but, when I join a cast it's like i'm broadcasting from a deep well, and no can really hear me. I have used headphones, and just the Phone's Speaker and no luck, I've been told it's because I am using an Android. But who knows. But I love dropping in on Live Shows , and a lot of my friends use the app. And they have found new friends on this app from all over the world! It's really remarkable. It's more than just a podcasting app...

Lots of fighting with downloads. I started using this app for the available content, but end up having to fight to get episodes downloaded. I'll start a few and invariably one or more will get "stuck," refusing to download or let any other episodes download. When I try to delete to episode blocking others, it won't delete and I have to force stop the app, reopen, and try again. It takes several try and feels like a huge waste of time.

I would like to clarify the issues I am having: 1. Seems like the app is forcing me to create an account. Trying out as a guest doesn't work anymore. 2. I registered with my email, but I still wasn't able to log in and listen to podcasts. The email address and login information were correct. I didn't get any conformation email though. At the end, I felt like I'm being forced to sign up with my google or Facebook accounts, which did work.

Another podcast app failure. Finally an app with a decent "bulk manage" option. So i can finally pick up where i left off on a podcast, instead of starting over from the beginning (which is often hundreds of episodes). But no, its a let down. i mark hundreds of episodes as played, and then the app queues all of them anyway. Congratulations, you played yourself.

Used to be great. It no longer tracks played episodes for the free version past a certain amount of episodes. I would be willing to pay, but it seems it's more geared towards podcast creaters rather than listeners now. I had over 700 hours of tracked listening. Lost all my "played" episodes tracking twice each time I updated the app. Very dissatisfied. I emailed support and they were responsive, but this app went from a great fit for me to worthless if I can't keep my marked as played episodes.
