I have decided to buy this app for our last Transatlantic crossing, just to see what the hype is all about, because they advertise like crazy. App is fine, weather routing is interesting, and it is nice to see a lot of variations and options incorporated in the app. Huge problem on this app is that you can't switch to another app, or change to email or answer a phone call. It resets itself and does not remember the inputs from 10 seconds ago. At 120 euros a months looks like a scam, shame
I work professionally as a Capt/YM, this app is definitely the best for weather routing in a maritime environment. Whether you're a novice or a maritime professional, this app can't be beat.
I purchased PW and subscribed to the Professional version. Unfortunately the PW Offshore app is not working on my Pixel 10 Fold, which would be perfect for this app.
From a former SkyWarn volunteer, I absolutely love this app. Besides being a must have for severe weather forecasting, I routinely use it to be sure I have calm winds ahead of any brush burns.
Clunky, poor UI, and doesn't save any data so everything disappears if you happen to loose Internet connection, which is a deal breaker for sailing
Great App. retired now and love trout fishing. always check all inf on this site before going fishing, or planning a fish on the beach. it's far better for my purposes than the local weather apps.
I like this App/software, but could you add a list of countries where AIS is compulsory to be active and non active. As of January 2026 its mandatory within Fiji's territories up to 60nm out, $50,000 fines and possible confiscation of vessel. you could add it to predict wind, on screen free printable €5.00. or free.
dose decently for free use but no model really gets it all the way right in the PNW. (has nothing to do with resolution but with the strength of the wind or the direction accuracy being off by annoying amonuts.)
***** Outstanding app***** There is just so much detail even in the "Basic" tier. I don't have a boat - I was just looking for something to use on a cruise ship. However, I had a free week using the "Professional" tier and was amazed at how much information was available. I should think it would be invaluable to boat owners. Support is very quick and very helpful, too. (I was looking for a replacement for Accuweather. instead of putting the price up, frigged the app to force an upgrade!)
You need to know a bit about weather and how it works, but if you want quality weather info then this is by far the best weather app you will find. They also offer free quality online training. Simply the best.
Many routing options; some most useful... One uses this as a primary weather forecast site in travels Offshore and Coastal. PW Offshore APP is great for managing GRIBs. Expensive, but I like it.
it's a good wind app, but it's a time waster if you regularly move. You have to find, type in a name and save your location every time you move. if you have too many already, you must first delete a previous location to make space. We travel 4 days a week on the great loop, and this wastes a few minutes every time I want to check the wind. So now, I open Wi**y which just shows conditions at my current location.
My favorite wind / sailing / ocean app. Works well, quickly and no crappy ads or interrupting pop ups. I keep the free version, my husband has the paid version to download weather when we are under sail. I check it every morning and I like the mixed model it seems to be fairly accurate. I really like being able to see a large radar area to see where the weather is originating from. I Would recommend for anyone doing any kind of ocean sports or activities or just interested in the ocean.

What a bad app, very, very slow and for anything other than basic info you need to pay
most functions are behind subscriptions with several levels before you get access to everything. The windy app gets you more for your money.
cool app , I wish I could alter the opacity of the night hours shading and the days had bars between them but I might learn to live with it
The application works great. The prediction models are hit and miss on accuracy, but thats not a functional error of the software. I just wish there was a way to overlay multiple prediction models as a default setting. There's too much time wasted flipping back and forth to compare possibilities. But it is still a good app, so I rounded up.
One of the most accurate forecasts I've used. From Cabo to San Francisco's bay, their models have been the best. The advanced features are really great, but too expensive for my blood. Also the phone app is clumsy to navigate especially when changing between wind, waves gusts, etc. Its also pretty slow, even with decent internet.
It's locking up on my OnePlus 7T. Updated: The app doesn't lock up any more. Giving it four stars. It holds its own among the constellation of other wind and weather apps. I'd give it five stars if there was a better pricing option for occasional users like me. I'd like to use the gusts option but it's too expensive. Thanks for acknowledging and fixing the bugs with lock-ups.
BEWARE! This company will charge you depending on subscription type for the ATTEMPTED connection to the Iridium network. It's like paying for a telephone call when nobody answers. CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY!! Connection to network is (depending on area) very seldom and difficult. I had massive problems connecting when crossing the Indian Ocean to find my account was the locked and 400 minutes over the airtime plan I selected. I didn't get any data or voice time as no connection was possible.
