This app is intended to facilitate and encourage the use of public transit. It falls woefully short of this and actually discourages it goal. One cannot purchase bus/train fare from the app, you must first find a location to purchase a physical card, completely negating the purpose of an app. Then, when you finally find a place to purchase said card, the app rarely recognizes the app and fails to load the balance. This has got to be one of the worst apps I've ever downloaded. Just avoid it.
Stopped working completely. (At a time when most people need to use it.) It just won't connect to the network anymore. Even tried reinstalling. Basically you're stuck with the website at this point, good luck with loading funds if you want to use them immediately. Edit: I had to uninstall again and reinstall, now it works again! Thanks Edit #2: lol, it worked ONCE. Now it's stuck on the loading screen, or the login screen. Tried reinstalling, tried clearing cache/data, nothing works.
awful app, it declines cards when you try to load funds, then when your bank says that the payment is in progress you have to call customer service and then find out that it can take 24 hours for the $ to appear on your Presto card! The app is supposed to stream line things but you are better off just using the website. 45min wait on hold btw.
this must be worst transit app in the whole world. I have travelled to many different countries and experienced their transit systems. TTC Presto is the worst. It's slow at the user terminals. It has limited usage/acceptance. You can't use it to pay for anything other than transit fares... on and on. Right now, my card shows my last tap yesterday at 7am. It's 7pm now. My usage today still not showing.
i recently downloaded the app, but i haven’t been able to use it because it freezes on the “terms and conditions” page. the screen becomes completely unresponsive, and i can’t scroll or accept the terms to move forward. i’ve tried reinstalling the app several times and restarting my device, but the issue still hasn’t been resolved. i’m hoping this can be fixed soon, as i’d really like to use the app.
my presto pass disappeared from my google wallet and it told me to download this app to sort it out so i did that, but i can't even open the app. i keep getting an error message at the loading screen, before the app even properly opens. if i could give this zero stars i would.
They charged me two duplicate payments for my monthly pass. There were issues with their server, and it showed transactions canceled, so I had to pay again. Eventually, all three times, I received the same error. Later on, they deducted payment three times from my account. I have been in contact with them over their phone number for two months, and they are still working on providing me a refund.
I've never had an issue with this app, but when my Girlfriend tries to install the app it says not available in your country. Could this be because of the current undergoing update?
Metrolinx can't build anything. This presto app was built by morons and Metrolinx paid handsomely. Why the city did not purchase existing tech from nyc or london is beyond the pale. Now that you can use other forms of payment, hopefully, PRESTO will be removed. HERE'S AN IDEA PRESTO, HOW ABOUT REAL TIME TRANSACTION UPDATES. Perhaps you should hire a monkey .Although a monkey could build an app better than these morons. What a joke.
Why do I have to wait to load my card? Why not now? Can't you also just let me see both my current balance and my pending balance on the same page instead? Why do I have to tap my card at a presto machine to confirm my balance? Wouldn't it be more convenient to have balance be confirmed instantly? This is a good example why you should get your driver's license because of how useless this app can be sometimes. App is still functional though, but it still sucks. Do better.
They claim that when you use the app it shows your activity in real time but this is not the case. You cannot tap off when exiting a subway station so the system doesn't know whether you're still on the subway or not. As soon as I exited the subway station, I went to a presto machine to let the system know that I had exited but it made no difference. I thought that after the 2-hour window expires then the system would update my activity since it didn't matter anymore where I was. No difference.
Buggy, frustrating app. I need to load funds onto a card I don't have on autoload. First it claims not to know my password, then when I verify, it won't let me use my new password and then I get a connection error. The scheduled maintenance better fix this.
The app is giving a bunch of errors but still takes money from my card without putting anything on the card and when I try contacting support they can't do anything and tells me to contact them through their app even though that's how I contacted them in the first place... if you're able to please do not waste your time on this app it'll work at first and then stops
The app regularly signs you out after a couple or few days of inactivity. Frequently, I have to reset my password because of this, creating a circular problem where I'm constantly creating new password variations just for this app - leading to them being easier to forget. There is a "Remember Me" option, but it still forces you to sign back in any time the app updates (frequently, which is good to be fair) or otherwise after several days. App is useful thanks to NFC loading but UX falls short.
Easy to manage my Presto card. I can check balance, load funds or report lost. Presto is the besto👍
i can't reload my presto. the app is not loading certain parts. it keeps saying "technical issues try again later " very frustrating and annoying. Canadian websites and apps are Not user friendly. nothing is straight forward. just loops and turns.
Great app that does what it needs to do. Issues: As of 2.1.22, I appreciate the addition of MFA Support but it is limited to the most insecure type of MFA, SMS; Please add the ability to use an authenticator app/device. Please update the query card feature to show the agency loyalty progress. Query card no longer shows the transfer timestamp, only the agency logo.
If I can rate your app with a star or with zero stars, I would. The app is always buggy despite the updates. You have to wait for everything within 24 hours. This is inconvenient, especially for lost/stolen cards to travel using the GO station. I don't even know if you can delete your account. If you cannot, that is a red flag that gives you a choice of what your future is going onwards.
Unable to pay. On the TD bank payment screen, bringing up the keyboard causes the page to reload, which forces the keyboard to close, leaving one in an endless loop of not being able to post payment information. Using a bluetooth keyboard bypasses the issue, but the app refuses to remember payment info. I ended up walking 20 minutes through an ice storm because your app wouldn't take my money, and the nearest payment station was 20 minutes away.
It takes DAYS to update your current status(funds,transactions). So, you might have not enough money to pay for the ticket but the app shows otherwise. Sometimes it keeps on loading the logo. Closing the app doesn't fix it. This has been happening for months on random occasions. It's beyond annoying. *One year later and my review stays the same.* I got more to say, as of April 1, 2022 what is the reason of saved payment method if it doesn't even show up when I am buying a monthly pass?
