Fun game, but it barely works. Constantly freezing and almost unusable due to crashing. I want my money back! UPDATE: The app has improved and works better, but the amount of ads and their lengths is ridiculous. I purchased the decks. Why do I need to make yet another purchase to remove ads? How about making ads more reasonable? The ads are literally minutes long. I would suggest making the ads more reasonable in length and frequency.

Lowering my previous review. Still a great game concept, but the app is poorly developed, takes eons to load even on new phones, and crashes ALL THE TIME. And the most popular deck, The Truth Comes Out, was just changed so that it now costs money to play. It used to be playable for free (with some annoying ads), but now that's not even an option.

For as much money as Ellen makes, I figured she could hire someone good enough to make an app that doesn't choke every ad break and doesn't randomly crash on iOS and android. I can't imagine paying money for an app that randomly stops after a while, so good thing someone else has paid, that hosts our games. Forget checking other apps during game play, you will have to sign back in with your game code or even better, you get kicked out and lose your points.

I've been playing this game with my cousins for years because it was free and we could use it long distance, but now you have to pay for everything, even The Truth Comes Out????? Y'all suck, I'm just going to say it outright. You should've just kept it to the ads instead of making everything cost real money. We even have to pay for decks we already had. >:(

The most recent update screwed everything up. We can't get a game going with anyone who updated the app. And those who installed the April 16 update can't even consistently join games with each other. Whatever you did, undo it, because it is no fun spending 30 minutes trying to join a game and being told the game can't be found....even when you know the code is right. Those of us who DIDN'T update the app can still play (but only with each other). Those who updated yesterday are SOL

This is the same as Fibbage from Jackbox, but can host a lot more players. If you've always wished you could play Fibbage with larger parties (I believe up to 20 people), this is it! And also, there are different categories of topics to choose from. The Truth Comes Out decks are confusing, and we didn't figure out until the end of the game you're supposed to choose your favorite answer, not the right answer. All of the other decks you're supposed to choose the right answer.

At first I thought I have been scammed but then I realized that I have actually been PSYCHED! The app gets stuck after every touch. I can't start new games, can't join friends, can't play at all. This is a very bad experience and a waste of $1.99. Also, why do you want me to pay extra $2.99 to remove ads when I'm paying for a party pack already?

There are many choices of games, some you can play for free (with ads), if you want extra games or to play ad free they are inexpensive and most importantly "A one-time buy" no monthly fees. Also only one person in the group has to buy a game for everyone to play without ads. Players aren't disconnected continuously as with other games (talking about you scrabulous).

No longer free to play. I don't mind paying for a couple of modes, but after purchasing and playing "The Truth Comes Out" last night with friends I'm not sure where the money is going as the experience has gotten worse. The game kept lagging and multiple people had issues connecting. I also kept seeing ads asking me to pay for the other game modes which was equally annoying. If I'm giving you my money don't cram ads down my throat...

Would have normally given this a 5 star because it's a lot of fun particularly "The Truth Comes Out", been playing it with my long distance friends for a year or more, but recently logged on to play and we have to pay for games? And then an extra sum for no ads? The amount is manageable, but on principle this just seems rubbish. Also interesting that this monetising comes at a point where many people are in lockdown and this is an easy way to connect with friends and family

It's incredibly fun to play with friends when it works. But the app is horrendously slow. Switching between apps causes it to load from scratch again , games don't start, takes forever to load options in the menu. And it's not like I have a bad phone, I have OnePlus 5 and I can play demanding games with high frame rate. It's a shame really, I was planning to spend money on decks and it's now plagued with issues.

Okay, so I love playing this game with my family, we have a lot of fun with it. But literally, just now while I was playing with said family, the game suddenly crashes and I'm unable to re-enter the game. I close the game down completely, restart my phone and everything, and everytime I reload the game the message "Unable to retrieve player data. Please check your connection and try again" pops up. I am connected to my home wifi as stated before so that's no issue. Please advise a fix, please.

Played this a good bit about a year ago and was brilliant fun. Redownloaded today and it is completely broken. Game crashes on main menu and when any of us are trying to start a game it immediately pops up a message saying not enough players game has been ended before any of my mates (or me trying to join their game) even get a chance to enter the join code. Literally unplayable.

Their servers were not able to handle the load when many people are playing and they are always showing popups about large traffic on their server during that period. The game is ridiculously slow and you and your friends will have to wait for long time for the question to show. But the game is nice.

Update 12/2025 - This app is still a fave for playing with family and friends! We laugh so hard. Our favorites are: The Truth Comes Out, Is That the Truth, and It's the Law. If everyone is going to sit around with phones, you may as well play this game. So many laughs & good for lots of ages. I have paid for some decks (very affordable & you have it forever), and if one person in the group has paid, no one sees ads. Definitely got my money's worth.

Awesome game. My friend told me about it recently and I haven't stopped playing!! Told lots of other friends and had a super fun infinite rounds game and stayed up till midnight. Would totally recommend. Only thing is- sometimes the game just randomly freezes, or it says someone is not readied when they actually are, and then you have to skip the round. Other than this, best mobile game around. Lots of laughs 😂😂

Psych used to be really good game before. But now, it keeps hanging and the number of ads on it are unbelievable. I love the concept, but it is so slow and so difficult to play. It's quite annoying to keep seeing the splash screen with every game. I also had access to all the decks before, but that seems to have gone. It's 2020! Your app cannot afford to be that slow on a network with strong data/WiFi connections.

Used to love it but of course they're trying to squeeze every penny out of it so now there's a lot of ads and then blackmail to remove the ads. I've purchased several games but am shopping around for alternatives now. I'll give Jackbox a try. Oh they don't even show you who in your group has finished answering anymore...to make room for more ads. Gross.

Angry at recent changes. Used to enjoy playing this a couple of times with friends - "the truth comes out" is a really fun creative round. However, with the recent update they've now decided to charge for this when it was free before. The previous model of paying for additional games was better - this is quite scummy. Unimpressed with this decision from the Devs.

Ads even with paid games. I paid for the deck, but still received ads. This doesn't make any sense. And a deck that used to be free is now a paid deck. Very frustrating. I like the game, and it is very nice to play with friends, especially when you know them well, but the ads shouldn't appear when I have paid for the deck!
