excellent.. a few times the text messages don't go threw.. have to put phone on airplane mode.. then it does. I have tried to contact them recently and they keep hanging up.. disconnecting the chat. hard time trying to change my mom's password.. on her device. takes a month to fix anything, but once it's done.. your good to go. mostly the app.. try and download it keeps saying buy a new sim when u already have. overall, besides the hiccups I'm happy.
The Public Mobile service was good, the app good, the price great! My issue is not having Wi-Fi Calling available, an important feature for the area I live in. I have left Public Mobile because of that, but would gladly come back when the feature is available.
Nice little update merry-go-round with this app lately...practically gotten to where we can't run it twice in a row without being forced to "update". And for what, do the developers even add or fix things? No. If anything these "updates" always seem to make an already buggy, frustrating app just worse. Gotten to where it's better to just use a browser instead. Bit more of this, will perm-uninstall from my devices.
Used to be a happy customer. Was forced off 3G due to their decision to shut it down for customers. Went through the hassle of porting it over and disputing non-disclosed charges. Now I can no longer log in to cancel my subscription and have to wait to see if I'm charged for another month of service with PM that I haven't used. Chat option (AI) is mediocre as best, so better hope you don't have issues or you'll need to wait to speak with a pro from the Community, which is another login.
overall it's ok but I haven't tested their services yet. the offer discount appears in weird ways it says it is 40 dollars but also 20 dollars at the same time. the interface doesn't help. I'm hoping it was actually 20 although it said it was 40 - 20 to a total of 40 plus taxes which makes no sense. we'll see
The price is what got me, but it's not what is promised. The Canada - USA - Mexico plan did not work for me in Mexico. When I arrived in Mexico the speeds were so bad that data was unusable. I even did a speed test and it was 0 Mbps. I reached out to support and they would not offer any compensation. They basically said that data outside of Canada is out of their control. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't recommend. I ended up buying an esim from another company which worked great.
Just got my SIM and the app says to "hang tight" because there is some issue with the software. This is false. In fact, there is no software issue. The problem was simply that I needed a wifi connection. How can a company that is making money be so inept at developing a mobile phone app? I could make a better app and all I'd ask for in return is a sandwich.
plans are great. If you have any issues with your account there is no one to fix it. I've been charged my monthly payment twice before and it was a loss for me because again no one to talk to to fix it.
so far it was good but paying with a prepaid card Visa/MasterCard can be a little tricky. there's very little information on how to accomplish this. you have to register the gift card online then you can use it other than that everything went well.
It's a pretty basic app, but I've had no issues with it. It gets the job done, look at data usage, receipts and subscription plans. Not sure what else you would need?
Always have had a great experience with Public Mobile, never any problems. My plan continues to become less expensive, which is something I can't say about other providers. I've been with Public Mobile for 7 years, I can't see any reason I would change. Definitely recommend them. The app works well, too.
so have been with this company for a few years now. I'm travelling along more now. staying b and B's that are rural. zero cell service. and everyone else has cell service. the place I'm in now, the caretaker has fido and zero issues. as well as wifi calling us enabled with hers. mines not. wth is wrong with public mobile? your no different than any other company yet your service is so very poor! I can't text or make phone calls. and that is a safety issue!!!!! time to seriously research another.
So far good. The only caveat is that it keeps disconnecting the data and sometimes the signal seems very low or non existent.
Off to a bad start! Tried to subscribe and offer states free e-sim card for new subscribers. False advertising. No way to redeem such a thing. no support of any worth. Would not connect 90% of time in U.S. despite supposedly having it in my package. Again no support and no resolution just no phone on trip while others, with other carriers, enjoyed theirs. One star for being cheap!
This is my best plan I've ever had, the app allows to change your subscription at anytime next charging cycle. Ive used in USA no issues haven't tried Mexico yet. if you pay attention you can get great deals
60GB for $22/mo, I've never heard of anything like it in Canada. Interface is very easy to navigate too. Great app.
I switched over after 20yrs+ of Rogers/Fido. Good deals and reception, decently fast, and no annoying sales people. Best decision.
Unable to login in to app, but using the same credentials was able to log into web. Seems like the app is broken since December 2025.
This app does what it is intended to do however has much room for improvement. Your Public Mobile phone service is reliant on this app however some of the features found on the website are non existent in the app. It's design language is boring and outdated while the performance of the app is slower than expected.
Useless app. If my card for some reason was not charged, there's no button to "try again" or "renew the subscription". I need to go and use the website. And it takes a few minutes for the app to open, and then I need to login (every single time). Come one, it's not 2015.
