First off I'd like to say that I downloaded the app to see how effective it is on blocking websites and I wasn't disappointed. However I'm currently on the 7 days trial and not sure of I'd actually make the purchase to keep this application on the phones because it can be Uninstalled without asking for a password. I also noticed that the application turns off at some point and I have to log on to enable it again. My last concern is if I turn my phone off or restart it will turn the app off also.
hey, the app has a bug with password length. when I set up a long enough password it is not accepted on the app unlock screen and in meantime it is accepted in the PureWeb app itself. please fix it. I want to use very long passphraze.
its always on protection feature doesn't work properly even after allowing no restriction on battery it automatically gets turned off and if tries to turn it on it constantly asks to turn on no restriction mode which has been already done earlier
Best blocker I've used. It can block websites, apps, and it's preloaded filters to block content are great. Blocking apps is very useful due to inappropriate content being uploaded to various apps... Reddit, YouTube, etc... And you can simply just block the access to those apps. As well as web browsers your family might use. Any websites that it doesn't already block, you can add more to that list manually. I've been using this app for 2-3 years now and it works great.
This app works great for blocking adult content. I downloaded it online children's phones and they are completely unable to use anything that they could get adult content on. It's great for a child who you want to limit their exposure to any content that's probably above PG-13. I would actually give this 5 Stars except for the fact that I have tried to reset my password multiple times with no email sent to reset the password. I've also emailed the developer and there has been no response.
Very useless app. I first subscribed for a yearly basis but was forced to cancel my plan because the filter would simply not work. Moreover when I tried to get a password via Email to log back in, as I had initially entered a random hard to remember password, it would still not work. Please fix these glitches and don't advertise your product in a manner that it is not. Thanks
Not bad but it does have a big flaw. It has the option to prevent uninstallation, which I really liked. But then, they give you an option to uninstall it anyway in the inapp setting, defeating the purpose entirely. I feel like they should really get rid of that setting. The #1 issue with any one of these apps, is that people will just uninstall them, making them kinda useless. Otherwise, it's been good.
It's great. Really. But, one major concern is that there isn't a custom word filter like all other apps, and this is dangerous. Now ofcourse it does block most things associated with adult content, but there is unfortunately some words that grant access to images and certain websites. If a custom word filter was to be implemented, then I would reconsider giving 5 stars. Please do resolve this, I am trying to hold myself accountable 👍🏽
The VERY BEST pron blocker. I've used other apps, such as a lifetime BlockerX subscription, but PureWeb is just the best. Pros: (1) easy-to-use interface. (2) The VPN filter stays on & can't be turned off, no matter how many tricks I try. The only way to turn it off is via the password. (3) also blocks websites (enter the URL) and apps, therefore it's great for productivity. PureWeb is a contender for "Top 5 Android Apps".
Why can I enter restricted apps without a password? What's stopping me from having a new password sent to my gmail? This app is probably the best content blocker I've ever had, but those two problems are a huge deal to me. The first one is probably a bug, fair enough, but the second one I cannot ignore. Even if someone else has the password, you can just select 'forget password', type in your email, and then get a new password; there needs to be some sort of limit on this, say once a day.
App consistantly asks for a password for absolutely no reason. In fact, in the time writing this review I have had 9 pop ups asking me to submit the same password for my pure web account. Why is it doing this? I have no idea. It got to the point where I had to disable the VPN entirely, AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. I then proceeded to uninstall the application, which again asked for my password 3 times and finally wrote this review. The app is mediocre in of by itself. Wouldn't recommend
I have a big problem with this. Ive had it for nearly a year already and i still have the same issue. Whenever i am not on wifi, my phone slows down ENORMOUSLY. its almost as if it just blocks everything because of how slow my connection gets. My only option is to whitelist every website i can think of that i want to use, and that is really annoying. Besides that, there are many apps that i cant use because of how slow it gets (and many apps that dont work even kn wifi), and i cant whitelist them because they dont have a website i can type in. This issue needs to be fixed. Ive had this problem on many different phones. At the very least there needs to be an App whitelist option, for apps that should never be filtered. Please do this ASAP!! i wil have to try and find a new one otherwise.
It is one of the blockers which are pretty effective, it' s process is to connect to a so if we hide the app, vpn with safe dns set password and allowed autostart and device administration (to prevent unistal l) it automatically connect to safe dns after few seconds even when we clear the apps from the background , which I personally like very much Coz other apps get too much time to start again or even don' t work when we clear them from the background. So this blocker is pretty helpful :)

Although they say that is designed for Android phones and tablets, the "uninstall protection" is useless if you use Chrome on your Android device. Detoxify is a much better app for protection and encourages accountability partners. The fee for Detoxify is $5/mo or $50/yr. Pure Web is only $1.99/mo. You basically get what you pay for. Remember that freedom is not free.
I have encountered a glitch that lets you just bypass everything that is blocked. If you tell the system that you have forgotten your password, and then tell it to send a new password to the email that you've signed up for. At that point if you hit 'Enter Password' on something that is blocked, with nothing written in the password space, it will just let you in automatically. Please fix this glitch as it was working very well beforehand!
Just installed and tested thoroughly and it does its job. I tried to break it and couldn't. One feature request: I'd include a run silent mode. Having the VPN notification in your notification bar is obtrusive and makes it obvious to people who borrow your phone that you have it installed. Note to reviewers complaining about the subscription: they make it plain up front that it requires a sub and they deserve to be compensated for providing a service. Free is rarely good and good is rarely free.
This is by far the best porn blocker app butI almost lost all my data because of it. I installed it, turned on every protection feature, including uninstall but it started misbehaving. It kept asking for password every 2 seconds for everything. I wasn't able access phone screen itself. I had only one way to stop that which so restore my phone factory settings by rooting it. Thankfully, I figured out another hack to kill this app. I am ready to buy paid version if your resolve this problem.
Doesn't work on bing search. I recently got a bing search extension when I select a text, and when I click on bing search, it opens all the websites that I have blocked, no filters at all. That extension is installed by outlook app. This loophole compromises everything that this app stands for.
It does its job but for some reason while I have it turned on I can't even use my phone if I try to send a text message it takes longer or will not send. My weather app widget wont-work every once in awhile it tells me that my Carrier has to initialize request whatever that means.
