Thought I'd give it a go. Not the best. Logged on OK to the WiFi, opened the app & selected a movie. Sat through 2 minutes of ads & then nothing. Thought it was my phone so reconnected & tried again, had to sit through the same ads & at the end no movie. Wondered if it was because that movie was popular so tried a TV program. Only had to sit through 1 minute of ads this time but afterwards still no entertainment. It just doesn't work. Maybe it's just this flight but I'm not entertained.
The app is installed in advance but never connected when in flight. The phone is connected to in-flight WiFi but there is a security problem or something that makes the app very slow and completely unusable. The "use network as it is" referred to in the help is not found in three of my browsers. Maybe it exists in what the development team considers mainstream, but I have no idea what. just sort out your http Https or whatever needs the network to be "as is".
Connecting to WiFi and browsing the app works fine. Content streams fine, but screen sleeps after the normal system configuration period. The only workaround that sort of worked was to enable "screen attention" so the screen didn't sleep while I was looking at it. Google Pixel 7.
seems to get itself in a loop. plays some advertisements then loops and replays the same advertisements. after watching about 30 min of the same ads, movie finally plays then is interrupted by pilot announcement and returns to ads. totally unusable. Suggestion: how about a maximum of one add session when the app is opened, not when each movie is selected. on a different flight seemed to work ok after clearing cache and storage. still only giving one star because you really shouldn't need to it.
buggy app, it shows 2mins of ads before starting the show/movie and can't be skipped. most frustrating when I've already started watching the show but temporarily opened a different app on my phone or went to browse through the entertainment menu, it plays the ads from the beginning and have to manually skip to the part I was already up to.
Everytime you skip forward or backward it plays an ad. So if you want to click skip three times or try to find a scene, be prepared for A LOT of the same ad playing.
Useless if you don't have a set of headphones; should be able to watch shows with captions on and audio forced off
drops out all the time totally useless. Especially frustrating when there's a perfectly good screen on the seat infront of me which wont play the movies
Usless App 3rd flight in a row and I can't get any movies to play on my phone (Samsung Ultra S25). plays Ads no worries but buffering movies takes forever and I just give up in the end. Makes you miss the old days of having the screen available on the seats where movies are already preloaded.
There is no search feature for movies and Tv, making it nearly impossible to navigate
terrible app Android s24 will not connect. App pauses constatly for "ghost" flight announcements
Never been able to get it to work on multiple flights. Same as many of the others in the comments, plays the ads perfectly and then will not play movies or TV. Tried on multiple phones and tablets. Most recent issue on QF943 23/11/25
Keeps showing 2 minutes of adverts, then doesn't load the movie, then repeats.
only the ads work.. no movies load.... pilot announcement prompt never disappears.. 0 out of 5.
Actually managed to get the App to work for a change on a flight Melb to Perth. The long adverts at the start of a movie can't be skipped. And the ads kept freezing (with symbol for working / buffering) for ages, so did the start of the movie. I don't know why the movie eventually played without any more pauses. But it demonstrated that the app (or wifi) is capable of operating much better than it did for the first 20 minutes!!
I have given one star, only because it is not possible to give zero stars. Ever since it was introduced, I have never had it work properly on any flight; and, true to form, it failed to work both out and back on my recent trip. Very frustrating, as it appears to work fine, right up to actually playing the chosen film, then "no". To be fair, it does keep you entertained for an hour, testing every possible device and app setting to try and make it work; but that's the only entertainment from it.
Don't bother. This app is near useless with constant glitches. It opens easily, connects to the onboard wifi, lets you browse the content on offer, and even plays the 2mins of adverts before your chosen show starts. But then it'll freeze a few minutes into the show. Have tried multiple times on a few different flights and get the same result. This is such a cheap app experience to offer to customers from a supposed "premium" airline.
Great add app. The only reason I used this almost useless add infested app is because the in-flight system was broken. The earphone jack was broken. Tried 3 sets of their earphones and nothing. They said you could read the subtitles, and I said yea great thanks. The flight was completely full, and they dont check their equipment to see if there is a problem. I bet they won't fix it, and the next poor sucker will have to do without. I hope it's a child and then they will find out the hard way.
Anyone advertising on this app should think twice. 2 hours into my flight I've had to restart the app so many times and also watch the 2 minute ads each time I no longer want to use one of those vacuum robots or Bitdefender. Qantas are you charging advertisers for each view? because the results are not real. in fact its brand destructive.
Completely useless app. Keeps freezing and won't let you watch anything because apparently your headphones aren't connected, even know they are, and work perfectly fine! 2000 negative reviews and they haven't fixed this garbage so this review won't do anything. Fortunately I've got plenty of time to write it as my flight has been delayed! Fantastic! If you're reading this it's because you're about to take off.. Which means it's too late. Sorry guys. Good luck!
