It's been generally a good experience. It's last year when I used it and this year it seems to catch all the radars. I know I didn't get any tickets last year. However, when I first purchased the ad free membership, the app went a little weird and showed no streets, , didn't know where it was, and should speed limits that were well out of range with reality. I rebooted and things work better. All I can say is I hope I didn't get a ticket during the time it wasn't working right
Your app is great and truly helpful—I’ve found it invaluable when traveling. I think many people use Radarbot only when taking trips outside their usual routes for a few days or weeks. In those cases, a monthly subscription might feel unnecessary. Offering shorter plans, like 1-day, 3-day, 5-day, or weekly options, could make the app even more appealing and encourage more people to subscribe.
I guess it's doable but needs more work put into it. I paid for the premium on the first day thinking w/ that package, you'd be able to incorporate/sync your radar detector into the app but i was WRONG. Obviously you'll need an actual detector and a good one at that. The app alone won't work. If the app had Bluetooth capabilities to adjust the detector settings and whatnot at your fingertips and you were able to sync it, with all the apps features, it would def be better than Escort's app.
What I do not like in this application, it signals about the cameras, which is not on way you go, but around your car, in some radius. It could be on cross street, for example, and you have to take a guess, where the camera actually located. I do not want to look at the map, most of the time, I just want to hear audio notifications and I want this notifications warn me on the way I go, not about entire neighborhood.
This has been an excellent program. It auto updates all photo radars. My only complaint is that when I try to enter info on a newly installed photo camera at an intersection I frequently receive an error message. Or if I've entered info on new camera after a couple days Radarbot dumps the alert. Nothing is perfect, but since there's no way to communicate with the Radarbot Customer Service department, I'm not convinced they care.
overpriced. sure as he'll doesn't warrant a subscription. why do these companies think they can take free data slap it in an app and try to reach into our wallets until we die? this app should cost no more than $5 for a permanent license. there's nothing special about it, except for the cash grab app upgrades that make you think you missing out on a great deal if you dont subscribe right away. bs
I like the way Radarbot integrates with, in my case Google Maps, with a moveable widget for speed and notifications. Also works well with Driving Mode as long as you add it to the 'approved' list. Overall, excellent. My only suggestion so far would be to use a percentage over speed limit warning rather a fixed lower limit of 5mph. Exact is fine though. Here in the UK 5mph over a 30 mph limit will likely trigger a fine. I would prefer a percentage instead. Not worth dropping a star for though!
App configuration is great. Starting automatically with car. Closing automatically when leaving the car and doesn't drain the battery. Alerting while being in a background. But there is one huge problem which just ruins all the experience - they do not update the map in a timely manner. I reported new cameras more than half a year ago, they still did not add them to the map. No matter how good this app is, if they ignore camera reports which will lead to fines. Isn't for this Radarbot exists?
Saved me so many times. Only thing I bother paying for! Not only on local roads where I know there are speed cameras but when we go out for the day. It is just one less thing to worry about. Even works when I am in other peoples cars :P I did try various devices and apps before settling on this one. It very rarely glitches and that is probably my Citreon bluetooth rather than the app. I have contacted support a couple of years ago as got adverts with premium but they sorted it pronto.
Great user experience while driving. Alerts are relevant and timely. The feature to automatically turn on when car Bluetooth is connected is seriously the one feature that made me pay for the subscription. That said, I feel like the pricing is not transparent enough. Up and down all the time. Starts at a value then increases. I'd rather pick a fixed price tag and then focus on the product, instead of spending time on trying to trick users into a shady conversion funnel.
They charge you based on how much you're willing to pay. I got charged $20 for the annual subscription, then other people I know got a $4 annual deal when then didn't subscribe for a while! 80% discount from what I paid! I'm never paying a dime for this trash of an app again.
Good idea poor Execution 1. Andriod auto interface is cluttered and no one click reporting feature . Fiddle through the menus to report a camera while high speed driving 2. Does not store location of camera. I passed through same location three times and each time there was a camera which I reported. But no alert triggered. 3. Attention seeker application which takes over everything and beeps a lot but lacks a lot..
An incredibly useful app. I use it everytime I drive. It has proved its value on many occasions when driving on an unfamiliar road. Particularly if you are focusing on directions, junctions or busy traffic. Radarbot draws your attention to speed cameras and other alerts. The function to submit your own alerts and report missing fixed speed cameras is great. Minimal ads, which is great. The leader boards add a bit of fun.
Many so called speed cameras aren't. They're in fact simple traffic monitoring cameras. But obviously rather one camera too many than one too few. If you had a lifetime subscription I'd subscribe. But I'm not everyday on the road so a monthly subscription doesn't make sense.
Great app. Would give 5 stars if distance in meters or yards was available. Also would be better if you could select alerts for speed in-between exact and plus 5. As exact can be irritating and plus 5 miles can result in a fine. Otherwise great.
UPDATE, found out how to mark a specific location and add to favourites so given it 4stars, tried it on two known locations and it worked fine, I like the beep countdown to the camera. I have given 4 stars, hope there is more improvements to come.
Really solid app. The alerts are accurate and timely, especially for speed cameras and traffic controls. The interface is clean and easy to use, and it runs smoothly in the background without draining battery. It has genuinely helped me drive more confidently and stay aware on the road. Definitely worth installing if you drive often.
I would have given it 5 stars but some of the Red light/speed cameras it doesn't announce it when approaching. it does show the warning on the app screen and it quickly beeps if your speed is in the range of the camera exceeds the speed limit. Can you fix the problem.
The new updates way smart with ads now, the ads before the update wouldn't allow you to be able to contribute feeding the app with new Rader or pump, as it was too late to add the update as you had to wait till the ads finish, now it's perfect. My only wish if they you would add pump and poor road surface to the shortcut menu, as it's not the easiest to reach it while driving. Overall good update.
Using the app started off okay, however over time it seems the quality of data has got a lot worse. It now can't be relied upon. Plus there are annoying bugs through Android Auto, that, while driving, are difficult to deal with. Support is impossible as it just seems to be all through and AI chatbot. I've tried and failed to speak to a human.
