Worked in TV engineering for 35 years. This app has what you need to basically aim a directional or dipole antenna at the transmission towers. Out of the few apps on Google Play, this is the only one I found that accurately shows your position in relation to the transmission towers (set permissions!). Other apps do not properly read the GPS compass data from your phone. Just set the phone on top of the antenna, aim. Simple as that. Watch the beam go from red to green. Couldn't be more simple.

Limited, but all right for what it is. It works once you give it location permissions. The interface looks outdated and it would be nice to have a list of stations and their compass direction versus the map and pointing your phone toward things. Overall, the FCC antenna location website is more of what I'm looking for, so I'll just use that and uninstall this app. Also, the Terk Signal Finder app is nearly identical to the RCA one, so take your pick.

installed it exactly as instructions said and boom!! super easy! although it does say at the very end, "important...must perform a channel scan to receive any channels..." nope I did not and was up and running in under 15 min. I'm not saying don't do channel scan I'm saying mine worked perfectly fine without having done a scan! great purchase worth the price!!!

It's a very basic app, however, that is exactly what it is supposed to be. It's very simple to use, you almost intuitively understand how to use it. Basically you're just turning 360° until you begin seeing images of 1 or more antennas pop up on a basic, map of your area. Depending on the range of your product+the distance your location is from these antennas, you should see them appear on the map. The direction your phone is pointing, this is where you should point your antenna. Easy! 🧭

App worked on initial set-up. One channel, NBC, pixels out when it is really cloudy, just like our old satellite days. Now the app just states data base unavailable, technical difficulties, blah, blah, blah. Doesn't matter if you wait minutes, hours or days. Now it is just garbage.

Does literally nothing, even after giving location permission. Just keeps telling me that the database is having issues and cannot perform my request and to try back later. And the antenna I bought to use it with won't hook up on my living room TV and only gets 4 channels on the TV in the den (5 if you count the one that has no information in the guide and nothing actually broadcasting on it but is still included for some reason). Junk app for a junk product. Needs negative stars as an option.

I don't understand the poor reviews this app has received. The hardest part was finding the model of the RCA anntena as it was not clearly marked on the box or anntena, it was on the bag of supplies with the anntena. The app worked perfectly (if you can follow simple directions). The anntena was easy to tune right in, took less than 10 minutes from box to install, tuned and working.

Apndeoskt recognize auto geo locations and the towers don't seem to align correctly with the app. App will show the signal right on the nose but will be either week or no signal at all. I've been pointing the antenna both higher and lower altitudes. App should also feature local station signals as thise are much closer to my physical location and you can even get a better signal from local physical stations

data base always down in my area. The cities showing antennas are 45° off their location. The signal pointer is 180° off from the antenna. For me the app is useless. Installed digital compass app, made template on paper of phone and used weather radar to draw out the cities. I'm watching TV now.

This thing is a piece of junk!!! Ill be taking it back to the store when i need more groceries. It gets about half the stations the box states you will get. The handy directional finder doesnt seem to increase your chances of getting any stations. Id pass on this product. No instructions included in the box

So, the app does what it says, but it only shows me the direction of the nearest tower. It's within 10 miles. I was hoping to find other towers within the 60 miles the box states the antenna can receive signals from so I could adjust the antenna to better receive other (non-duplicate) channels that go in and out. But no luck, the app doesn't show those antenna locations. :(

This app works great for what it is, which is just a GPS based directional indicator. It uses your location (or the address you provide) and the location of the local TV station antennas in it's database to turn your phone into a digital compass. By rotating your phone, it shows you what direction to aim your antenna to (theoretically) get the strongest signal reception. It gives you a reasonable starting point. What it does NOT do is give you a true signal strength at your actual location.

This app is completely worthless. Yes it will show you a list of the nearest towers BUT when you try to "pan" your phone in order to find the strongest signal, nothing happens. Downloading and installing it was not only a waste of time but an absolute waste of data. Shame on you RCA for even suggesting this app and SHAME ON ME for actually believing that it would work.

It showed magnetic North, and it showed local tv stations out to 70/80 miles, plus showed good/bad signal when I oriented it. I had no problem with it rotating and orienting on the direction I turned. If you don't pay attention to where it shows North, you WILL be confused by where it shows the signal. Luckily I know how to read a map, and it shows city names!

a couple of weeks ago I would have given this 5 stars. Most accurate application out there. I'm moving my antenna to a different higher location and now no matter what I enter I get location not in the US. I've checked app permissions. I've cleared the app cache. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing works.

If you bought this antenna, don't bother trying to use it. Literally every good review is a lie. I've pointed the antenna in every direction they told me to point at and nothing appeared. Furthermore, the antenna was in a brand new box never opened and the parts were broken...horrible. If I could return it now, I would. it's a waste of money, I should've known since it had RCA on it. It's a cheap brand, better off using rabbit ears with aluminum foil to receive some channels...0 stars.

Never turns Green, no matter how you aim your phone. The 65 Mile radius of the antenna itself doesn't seem accurate, either. Got the same few channels with one that isn't amplified. Can't tell if the Amplifier even works. I suppose this app only works if the phone already has a Geomagnetic Compass Sensor, and the Apps for that on here only seem good for forcing reviews before ever even using them. They don't make this particular App work, either. Useless.

Whether I put my physical address or use my precise location, the app tells me that I am not in the U.S. So, did Greenland or Canada purchase the United States already, and the news not report it, or is the app just messed up? I used to like the app, and I have used it in numerous locations across the United States, but not any more. Update: Unistalled, reloaded, and does not give the channels it used to. Upgraded from one star to two. Other apps give me more stations.

I got the antenna and it works just fine . I can get at least 30 channels. You don't need the app really , just move it around a little and find the best spot for receptions. The app does tell you where the towers are located. Don't understand what problems the dummies are having as it is for simpletons.

Terrible app.. I know the tower locations, I am a seasoned Oregon cable cutter. But wanted to perhaps tune in a bit better with our new antenna so I tried this app.. Man what a joke completely way off course, like 60 degrees off.. It looks good on the phone but just does not have any accuracy, and yes my phone is calibrated to North and verified with a real compass..
