Edit: App used to work okay, but now the get a recovery function is completely broken and nothing ever gets saved. I tried wiping the cache, data, reinstalling, it's still broken Effective and very easy to follow exercises, but buggy app. The sore body part selector is nice, but it would also be nice to be able to do a simple key word search. The app regularly fails to record your completed activities and fails to post them to Strava.
App needs a little more work. When reviewing different exercises, the descriptions do not scroll, so I can't read all of it. I have to add it as an exercise to see all of it. There is only a small thumbnail picture of the exercise. To see an example how to do the exercise, it has to be added into the routine. There is not an option to edit the name of a custom routine without deleting it and starting all over. Otherwise, I like the functionality of this app and how it can sync with Strava.
This app is just brilliant for runners! I've always been sore a day after my run, but ever since i've started using the app, it has really helped reduce and get rid of soreness. It's only been about 3 weeks of use, so will see how it works with long term use, but so far so good. Also the types of exercises change every week, which is great as different muscle groups are engaged. However, this app seems to be targeted to runners or people who want to recover lower extremities post-exercise.
Here are my critiques. 1. There's not a full timer displayed for the entire workout once you start. 2. It doesn't connect to Garmin Connect to track heart rate during exercise "workout" for Strava. You have to go to a third party app to tie them together. 3. IT CRASHES WHEN NOT IN USE AND YOU LOSE YOUR WORKOUT PROGRESS - infuriating 4. It needs more types of stretches. How about an "IT Band Stretch" 5. No kettlebell option for equipment?
The videos in the recovery programs seem to have a mind of their own. Some play, some don't, they play out of sequence and I can't seem to get them to play when I select the corresponding exercise. So I have to read the description to work out how to do the exercise when a visual would work much better for me. I end up losing patience and not using the app as much as I should.
I use the free version and it is good for a quick post workout stretch if you want to follow a routine. only real annoyance is the voice coach endless repeating how good stretching is for me. I know, I wouldn't be doing it otherwise.
I pretty much stopped using the app when the Recover activities no longer had the option of being attached to existing Strava activities. Judging by the latest reviews the problems have mounted. I'm uninstalling now.
This is a great app for runner's. It isn't just for recovery, it also has strength routines based on where you have said you are having issues, soreness etc... This could of been a 5 star if all the videos loaded properly, the main videos that fail to load Tend to be the stretches. However, it does have a description how to do the move and there is a small picture too so you can kind of work out what needs to be done. Overall, a good app that takes away the effort of needing to create a routine.
Tried a few times via strava. With subscription and without. My main question is why there isn't the ability to play as a full routine. Just set up my phone, select recovery and play through the full thing like a guided workout in real time. I don't really want to have to toggle the timer every time or skip on to the next part. Seems kind of pointless. I could just use workouts or poses fron a book etc. So if you want more people to find this useful include a guided mode. Like on WAHOO systm.
Some good workouts. User interface could be improved, you have to manually watch the timer to work out if you have completed the required duration? An autoset countdown timer with alarm would be much easier since I have to strain to see my phone in certain exercises. For circuit based exercises would be nice to do one set of each exercise and come back and complete another circuit, but the only option is to do the 3 sets at once. When selecting muscle groups its quite technical language!
Good but missing some guidance. I like the suggestion after the session from Strava. Interesting to be able to select which muscles to work on, but I've got no understanding of that, so it'd be better to create a routine based on my objectives too. Bad: the timer goes on top of the video and can't be seen properly. Also, there's no auto-advance option (when it's time based). Hope that helps!
Can only presume at this point that the app has been abandoned. Very little works. The video demonstrations and voiceovers don't work, it's sluggish, and a bit embarrassing really.
Can only assume this app had been abandonned: it's half working, glitchy, and clearly nothing new in it in ages. Another in the Strava graveyard.
While I like the premise of this app, there is a lot left to be desired. The app assumes you have all the equipment outlined in their static workout program. For example if you're travelling and don't have access to equipment, the app will provide no alternatives. I like the premise and my strava account can prompt the app to tell me to workout, but these shortcomings render the app unusable in my life and I'll be sticking with Nike Training
I downloaded this through the Strava subscription and it is great. Guides you through strength, mobility, and rolling exercises. At the end of each activity you can indicate your soreness in that muscle/area and it will track it and provide activities based on that data. Only problem is that it seems made for runners which I didn't know until after, and I am not a runner.
Almost 2gb of data usage for 30 minutes of workout. Something is wrong with this app.
It's missing upper body and core exercises which are also fundamental to avoid injury. It looks like it's solely focused on runners. Static stretching routines should also be preceded by some kind of dynamic stretches or other warm up exercises, as doing them without any preparation may result in injury rather than prevent it. Other than that, it's OK.
No longer saving activities, uploading to Strava or displaying correctly text on the screen. please sort it.
Has some good exercises, but it is absolutely stupid that you can't delete a program without a pro subscription. There is 0 chance I'm paying $7 a month for any sort of workout app, and if an app like this one decides to lock basic useability features like the ability to delete an activity behind a paywall, I'll find it unnecessary for my life.
This app used over 21Gb of data overnight whilst my phone was locked. This has burnt through my new data allocation for the month, my rolled over data and all the capped allowed additional charges leaving me with no data for the next 31 days. Can't believe it is possible these days to have an app that does this. I would recommend you avoid it, if you do choose to get make sure it is closed if unused so you don't end up in this mess as well.
