Pretty good! The only issue is how you arent easily able to rate your driver...like the only way you see the option is if you go back into app...which may be 2 weeks down the road. There isn't a pop up that functions properly. I thought I left review but it doesn't go through, and only saw that the next time I went in...months later.
Although the app worked well and had the proper tip percentage, there are a couple of suggestions that I have. First, please add a tip amount versus just a percentage. Second, once you pay for a pickup and drop off destination, that cannot be changed once the ride starts. That is probably the one thing that needs to be changed. The ride should be based on where you actually go. This resulted in me having to negotiate with the driver and pay additional fees in cash. Not good.
Taxis are cheaper than Uber or Lyft and typically the drivers are more experienced. The only flaw in this app is that you have zero idea about how long your driver will take to pick you up. The app has no info until 2 minutes before the driver arrives. One great part, I schedule rides in advance, the driver is always on-time, every time! If they add real-time pick up info, this would be a 5 star app.
The app mysteriously fails on giving me the discount. They offer 25% discount for putting your credit card into their app, but when I did that, it claimed there was an error and it wasn't able to verify my card - either of the two cards I put in. The same card I paid for the ride with from the cab and not the app. It seems there's no problem verifying my credit card when it comes to actually paying. But without doing it in the app I paid 25% more than I needed to. That's quite the racket.
This app ONLY focuses on booking rides. There is no access for feedback, no phone number, no way to email them, nothing. Their driver NOE was awful. He couldn't understand English, couldn't retain information like the airline name, didn't know how to get to the freeway - even though he had a map on his screen - and when I asked him how to pay that my card was loaded in the app all he kept repeating was " they say you pay cash or credit" over and over. Last time to us these people
As the review from nearly a year ago states, the app gives an error when trying to add any credit card in order to take advantage of the advertised discount codes. Apparently the issue lies with Yellow Cab's Square account, as the app gives me a view into the error process and states that the merchant's Square account must be authorized first. No added card, no discount codes. Given that this error has existed for a year now, I'm not even positive the app will even still schedule a ride for me.
Overall worked great. A few rough edges, particularly around user feedback and input (I put in a date and location at the beginning of a form, and they didn't persist to the confirmation page so I had to do it again). That being said the driver was nice and on time. Easy to spot the cab and the app tells out the license plate number to confirm you are getting into the right car :D
great idea, along with a promotional 25% off, but because of a mix up of cabs (2 turned up at once for two different addresses) my cab drove off, and would not respond to requests to call me through the app, and now my app is telling me my card details cannot be verified even though they have been on file for months, no promotion for me. app is garbage.
These guys used to be great, on time, and reliable. But over the last few months, drivers often don't show, are rude, their service center is rude, and the list goes on. After missing 2 doctors appointments due to either no shows, and or late arrival, and a flight. I no longer consider Ride Yellow as a dependable service. Look elsewhere.
I don't know if it's the app or I just happen to have had a string of terrible drivers, but I recommend using this app if you enjoy having to search for your cab around the block, two blocks away, maybe further. This has happened every time I've used the app, except once when the driver actually showed up, then demanded cash up front. Today the driver called to say he's here; I hear construction beeping noises in the background; no construction in sight where I am. I'm uninstalling this app.
The app finally has a map so you can see cars, which means you can watch people close by refuse to accept your rides. Booking rides for later is the same. Time comes and goes, no taxi comes to pick you up. Don't be fooled by the affordable prices. You'll just have to book an Uber when they don't come for 3 times as much and be late to where you were going.
Buggy and extremely limited functionality. For example, theres a typo in my name and I can't edit this. So I cant add a credit card. And I cant log out and create a new account. Is this company shutting down or downsizing? The LA phone number is no longer listed online, the website is not functional, not sure these guys are sticking around...
I was happy using this app but the last teo trips I couldn't use my card and I thought it is a glitch and will be gone soon but no! The payment in the app offers 25% discount but keeps saying your payment is not verified. I have contacted customer service but they said sorry, we can only book you a ride but we don't know how to help with the app. I have been using this app and overall had a good experience but this is not good customer service. I'll be using other apps until this is fixed.
scheduled a ride, double checked the booking, but cab never arrived. app never matched a driver, showed a car, nothing... 30 minutes after reservation with no communication from app, I called Uber instead. called ride yellow next day and was told 'oh yeah, they sent us an email that app had problems last night' Jan 29.. Would have been nice to get some kind of communication from ride yellow explaining that problem instead of making me investigate the next day. unreliable & lame
Y'all have some rude, shady drivers. Also, why I gotta wait so long to find a driver or my ride just gets cancelled. Y'all need to get it together. I'm about to 86 y'all. I can put my money toward something waaaay better. Like my own car. Shameful. I actually enjoy being driven so I can multitask.
Am trying to use this app. Downloaded and installed several times. It never sends the verification code it says it sent. Can't use the app without the verification code.
second time, latest on 19Nov25 where no cab showed up. Reached dispatch and call was disconnec ted. The 1st time similar problem except dispatch told me they don't have any drivers available. I had to use Uber. Both were operated by South Bay Yellow Cab. Also had an issue with trip tkt given to some other fare, but Yellow charged me. much worse service than it used to be.
can't even click on menu options because the formatted the app horribly. everything is stuck under the notifications bar on my phone and can't be accessed
out of 15 ride's I had one drive cancel my ride because he couldn't find the house, that was very odd but all other rides and drivers have been great
Not the uber replacement I hoped. Told me not to use the app. Said there was a meter but I couldn't see the price in the car. Then wanted me to pay cash. Felt like the old taxi days. Seemed upset that I didn't have cash and had to restart the machine for me to pay credit. All of this added time and was $10 more than the same Uber I take several times a week. I wouldn't mind paying more for an alternative but it needs to be equal quality or better. This is why I stopped using taxis.
