RingGo: Mobile Car Parking App

Absolutely ridiculous. I had no option but to sign up - so I registered. It sends a message with a verification code. The code didn't come through so I pressed it again. You get charged per message to register for their app. Plus a convenience charge. Back to cash after this. During a cost of living crisis it's good to see companies robbing people. Nicely done guys. *A convenience charge is applied to each time you park! Also, location was wrong on the app. You'd think they could get that right.

Terrible and frustrating. Emailing and SMS option verifications do not work. The third option is calling and answering three "simple" questions to register your license plate, but this option does not recognize your voice. And finally, texting your plate number, but doesn't work either. Getting a parking ticket is simpler than going through this app.

App would not register my US phone number - all the reviews are correct and the support responses are incorrect. Calling the number it failed to recognize the car details I gave. The last option it gives is text your plate to a number, to which it replies "Sorry, this service is not available." Totally useless and you can't get a human on the phone.

Completely unusable if you're a tourist. You'd think an app for something as vital as parking would be able to be used by all numbers, but you can only verify with a UK number. Very dumb design choice, leaving you scrambling for change and hoping a nearby shop will be kind enough to change some notes for coins. 0/10 do not recommend this app to anyone traveling. **they keep replying to reviews saying you can use international devices - you cannot.**

Not usable if you're from outside the UK. Registration requires an SMS verification and they do not send SMS to foreign numbers (at least not USA). The payment stalls in parking lots accept coins only, no card, no bills. So you must carry 5-10 £ in change somehow. Paying by card over the phone is impossible, the automated system cuts you off and loops back to the beginning. I was able to get it to understand plate number and car model only, it couldn't understand car color "red". Zero support.

Absolute garbage. Can't even verify account to log in. Edit: In case it isn't obvious, my need for parking was temporary and immediate. In any case: I did, at the time, try to contact your customer service both over the phone and online. The phone line is just a useless loop to try and get you to pay for parking, which is frustrating if you have already paid at the kiosk in the lot. The live chat service simply glitched out and would not function from either my Android or my friend's Iphone.

Absolutely NO way to register and pay if you do not have a UK phone number. Another response from them says there is a way to do it from their website. Tried this and it is also not possible, just as the other people have said. Absolutely no way to call them, posted phone numbers and phone numbers in app do NOT work. (Yes, I used to country code and without the country code.) There is no alternative way to pay for parking at most places and steep fines for not paying, despite trying. Terrible.

This app is literally the single worst parking app there is. DO NOT EVEN TRY!!! We stood for nearly 30 min trying to get it to send the "verification code" which never came, and then it told us we are "out of SMS for the day, please try again tomorrow." USELESS!!! Just get the cash and pay the terminal and don't waste your time. The phone number to call doesn't work either. In the United States, we would call this a scam, fraud, etc. DO NOT DO IT

just doesn't open any more, i've re-installed, changed password but once I enter my information it just shows a loading icon until it times out. Really frustrating and time consuming. If you don't have your cards with you then you cant use the phone version thus really not allowing parking options and no other options. customer services haven't helped so far. Used to be a really useful app but now a let down. Any advice would be most welcome. It also amazes me how you have a few 5* reviews??

Horrible for Americans. Cannot register without a phone number. Cannot register an American number even with the +1 or 00. Very frustrating. Cannot pay by phone or by credit card. Pay by phone cannot hear what I say. Ugh! UPDATE: In the reply below, they ask me to reach out. This is a little late. When I was trying for half an hour to pay for parking, there was no way to reach them.

confronted by a parking meter that did not accept a card, I installed the RingGo app and immediately ran into issues. as a tourist, I do not have a UK cell number, so could not register! at least email verification should be an alternative. I tried calling the provided number to try to pay for the parking (I have VOIP calling while traveling) but that system was useless as well and would not recognize the color of my car! A junk system from the perspective of a tourist. had to move the car.

Why should it be this hard to just pay for parking? Would give zero stars. Impossible to use this app if you are visiting the UK and do not have a both a UK cell phone number, and UK Bank cards. It makes no difference if you add the country dialing code or not. They claim you can set up payment over the phone or online but that doesn't work either. Horribly frustrating experience and so many major parking lots around England use RingGo.

Doesn't send verification notification to your number, possibly because it's a US one (but it didn't work for either my partner or I). Won't give you a way to re-route the verification code though (eg. The email you signed up with). Also the phone number listed at the meter to pay is rubbish, too, to add insult to injury.

Upset. Got a parking fine. App logged me out without my knowledge. Caused me stress on the roadside. The registered password did not work. Tried to find another Pay & Display machine in mean time. However, at least two P&D machines were not working. Did a password reset on RingGo. By the time, I get back to my car, the traffic warden had given a fine. Super fast. Unsympathetic traffic warden. Stressed. Ruined my weekend.

Doesn't allow US numbers even though their parking meters are sometimes the only ones available and therefore it's impossible for people from the US to use them. Edit: The developer said it is possible to use an international phone number. The facts are that it doesn't work. I had to follow instructions on Reddit using a landline and email on a hidden form on the Ringo website which was a hack. If you need to use these lots, try and bring coins or you will suffer by trying to pay later.

Awful. I was stood on a cold Glasgow street and this app just doesn't work. I have a US number so couldnt receive the verification texts. I read the response which is also inadequate. When not paying for parking will result in a fine, a simple transparent process/system is essential for everyone, no matter when they are from. If you have a call for extra help, the system is not fit for purpose.

Do NOT download this if you don't have a UK phone / mobile as it will not recognize the number and you will not get any verification code. If you are stuck with only paying by RingGo, try a different carpark where they take cash or credit because this app is clearly not designed for tourists. The website claims you can't download the app to a "foreign" device which is rubbish. The app downloaded just fine to my phone and never said I shouldn't. Registering on the website also does not work.

Since thr latest update, all of my data has disappeared. If I go into my account, and click on vehicles, favourites, etc I get a notification saying "sorry, an error has occurred. Please try again". Very helpful. I've force stopped the app, turned the phone off and on. Same error message. What was a good app is now useless. And I can't park for my work now.

App has been very good when it has worked. On no.of occasions, app has failed to open up, so I have had to delete it and either try another app or go back to using the parking machine. I found that this app was responsive today, but didn't notice that it kept 4 hrs as a favourite and I paid for longer than needed! Also by the time I noticed that I was paying for parking my old car(scrapped 2024, now deleted), it was too late to alter reg. I have now paid 2 lots, & would like a refund, please!

Good when it works. but today is the 2nd time I've experienced it not doing so. And when you phone, they tell you the phone service isn't available and to use the app - well if I could use the app, I wouldn't be phoning! Last time it was 2 hours before I could pay. this time I gave up and went to another car park. Do not rely totally on this app working. even where the signal is good.
