Roast Perfect

I loved this app but not so much anymore. the timer is no longer available. I deleted app because I will just have to use an alternate timer. I liked being able to have timer running for the different cook times/temps

the app used to be very easy to use. this most recent update to the app makes it very clunky. additionally it appears that many recipes have been removed from the app. you can still find those recipes on the website though. the exotic korma recipe is the best.

this latest update removed the timer option. the older versions had a timer and reminder in the app. kinda disappointed about the removal

2.2 pound eye round. Method was to sear at 450 for 15 minutes, then an hour or so at 325, followed by 10 minute rest for rare. It was medium well. My rule of thumb was always 20 minutes / pound on these but I wanted to try something different. Kind of disappointed. I had a bad feeling about that 1 hour at 325 and my instincts were correct.

The information is useful, hence the 2 stars instead of 1. However, the timer wouldn't go off (make a sound) when it ended for the searing. I discovered this 1 minute late, so there's probably no negative impact due to my intervention. As for the roasting, the timer reset to the start time about 20 minutes into roasting. You cannot depend on the timer feature or your roast will be ruined.

I would give it negative stars if I could. Interfacing goes back pages once you select something, NOT user friendly. Timer system is jacked, does not keep count once your phone times out, the alert doesn't make sound, so you can't keep doing other prep or rely only on the app's alarm. The app does not accurately time for a "perfect" roast. I kept my roast in for an extra 10 minutes before checking temp and it was still horribly undercooked. I wanted med rare. was at only 115°, need 125-135°.

When it works...IT'S GREAT!!! HOWEVER, for the last 3 weeks it CRASHES everytime I go to use the "roast timer." I have sent feedback now for 3 WEEKS, have yet to hear a response, an apology, even a "go screw yourself" from the app owners. In 3 weeks, it has NOT been corrected. I've uninstalled & reinstalled, NOTHING'S CHANGED. Latest reinstall was 5 minutes ago, even turned off phone after reinstalling and opening to yet ANOTHER CRASH. The potential to be a great app, if they get folks who care!

Used this to prepare my first prime rib over for holiday dinner party some years ago. Has since been my go to when i want to try something new. Always on point and would recommend to seasoned cooks as well as newbies if you have a fear of messing up an expensive cut of beef or if you have difficulty in mastering that restaurant recipe that you love. Knowledge is power. Thank you for an excellent tool/reference!!!

This app gave me some much needed confidence💪🏻 after buying a very expensive prime rib roast for the 1st time! I was making a very special dinner and I had never cooked one before. I really wanted to make sure I had the best instructions on how to make this type of roast b/c at the price we paid for it I figured it better be the best dinner I ever made,lol!🤑 Thanks to this app,it was! I really appreciate whoever created this app! The directions were clear and very easy to follow!Awesome! 🤗

All I wanted was to know how long a certain weight of a certain cut of meat needed to cook. What I got was useless for that - it wanted to choose my cut & give me recipes & what all that I. DID. NOT. NEED. So I uninstalled this & am looking for an app that does what I want it to.

Chose Round Roast but you cant enter weight you have to pick weight and app doesn't go up to 10Lbs. Also, cant adjust cook temperature only allows 350 degrees. Ideally I would like to be able to enter any weight for any cut then choose Sear Temp and cook temp and have it calculate times. So I would choose Top Round, 12 Lbs. Sear Temp 500 Degrees and Cook Temp 200 Degrees. App might respond with 10 Min Sear @ 500 Degrees and 10 Hour Cook @ 200 Degrees. Low & Slow 180-200 Degrees is a common cook

This app is great! If you want to ruin an expensive cut of meat!!! Timers didn't work and even if you follow the directions to a tee you will over cook your roast to the consistency of shoe leather! Thanks Roast Perfect!!!

Used the app timer to cook two prime ribs for Christmas dinner....both turned out perfect. Was able to set the oven timer and have the app timer on my phone wake me up after going back to bed. Recommended.

Love the app. As a red meat lover always looking for help in making the perfect roast, this app has it all with a great timer, roasting suggestions, suggestions and fun easy to make recipes. I plan to be using this app everytime I cook a roast or am looking for a new recipe.

Used this app on Thanksgiving for a 9lb ribeye bone in roast. First time using a new stove and this app to make a roast that looked and tasted amazing. The app was spot on for cooking time all the way through to the resting period. Definitely a great app for a perfectly cooked, expensive meat.

Not intuitive in design and the app assumes that all roasts weigh multiples of a full or half pound with no way to input what it probably sees as an impossible weight of 5.3 or 6.7 lbs etc.

Horrible junk app. If you have to text, or web browse, or do anything else on your phone it turns the timer off and tells you to tent with foil. Would give be a negative 5 star rating if I could! I'm making a 60 day dry aged boneless ribeye roast for family on Christmas today and the app decides to turn the timer off when I got 2 hours left to cook! DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS BAD APP!

I use to use this app. Did pretty well but now it was a big flop. The meat wasn't the level of doneness I prefer. Followed the directions. I wanted medium well. Got something closer to rare. I dont even think rare bleeds like that. It was bad.

I live at 7200 ft, so everything takes longer to cook. Consequently, the time used for med rare actually took 45-60 minutes longer. I would be lost without a meat thermometer.

No brainer, right? Just follow the directions and the perfect roast? Boneless prime rib, 4.5 lbs, rare setting (just in case), followed exactly as instructed. F'ing medium-well! Ruined it! Big waste of meat.
