DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THIS COMPANY. Their execution times for purchasing and selling are so much slower than other brokers! They always screw you over by giving you a way worse price when you buy and sell at market price. Not to mention the amount of errors and glitches that you get. For example, you buy an option and it does not even show up on Robinhood Legend, their web-based platform, and you have to panic and log into your app from your phone to get rid of your positions. SCAM, stay away!
Edit, today the app did not even register that I own shares of a certain company. I bought shares of them 3 weeks ago, and then bought more this morning for a swing trade. I was then unable to sell said shares due to the app not showing any ownership.... Obviously this is unacceptable. I'm a long time member. Robinhood is very user friendly app, and they offer a fantastic credit card. However, I've gotten screwed on their fills plenty of times. Their charts are also abysmal.
Good app but has problems that need fixed. Advanced button sometimes doesn't load. A big problem with advanced is the "1 Share" button. That should never start with 1. I accidentally bought 115 shares instead of 15. It's stupid having 1 in there. To start it should be blank if you don't backspace you end up with a 1 in front of the actual shares you wanted to buy. And one more thing. On trade history for individual stocks it would be nice if the buy and sell information had the time of day.
The app sets you up for failure by inducing its users to make mistakes. First: when you're setting a limit order and then try to replace it later to adjust anything, it changes your limit value to either the Bid price if you're selling or the Ask price if you're buying. It should keep the limit price no matter what. Second: when you're changing the limit price, when you delete a digit, it won't just change the digit you just deleted. It will add these digits at the beginning.
I got a letter from you telling me that I need to reactivate my account or it will be transferred to the state of Colorado. after two days of trying the links they provide, uninstalling and redownloading this app multiple times, and only getting:"we can't process the login info", trying to reset my password, (which it refuses to send the link) and finally trying a friend's account on this device(strangly, it worked.) I was planning on getting more stocks, but now, I'm required to tell everyone.
app closes immediately when use price simulator on Android Phone ( Galaxy S24). The apps also wouldn't display open and close , high and low data in candle mode. Robinhood customer service was hard to reach and no idea how to solve the problem 😕. They said someone would get back to me and never did. The app works on my IPhone only and laptop only. Compared to Webull is has very little information and no drawing tools for the chart. After I close my positions, I'll be moving over to Webull
I'm very dissatisfied with Robinhood. Most of the time, when I buy stocks, I end up paying much more than the actual market price—sometimes slightly, but often significantly. It feels unfair and frustrating, so I always have to use limit orders, even for small purchases. The only reason I stay is that the app is very user-friendly, which is important to me. However, for anyone experienced or able to use less user-friendly brokers, I do not recommend it. Also, NY residents can’t get a debit or CC
sad. disappointing. I placed an order to buy at certain price. I clicked away expecting a notification when the order got placed. I did not get a notification. I didn't know the buy went through so I didn't check. them I come back a few minutes later unprompted. the buy went through and the price dropped. I lost money because robinhood failed to send me a notification.
Recent updates make it harder to interpret your investments for the average person. The pie chart was very useful with category breakdowns in percentages for your personal portfolio but it has now been removed. A large amount of info has been added and app is more difficult to locate information. Boooooo! Disappointing to say the least. Looking for a more user friendly app. Robinhood is getting too hard to use now at least for me. I really liked it better before all the changes.
Bracketed trades would really be a lifesaver. I don't necessarily want to watch a trade continuously; I'd rather set a stop limit and a take profit limit order on the upside, and check in periodically to make adjustments. This would also help my self-discipline so I don't have to think about it when things start to go downhill! Also, why not have a moving candle on the simple as well as the advanced chart? Easier to see what's going on. Indicators on Legend on laptop tend to obscure candles.
I've been a "free" customer for 5 years. Pros: user-friendly, easy to navigate and invest, you're in control, lots of learning info, and minimal transaction fees (for stocks). Cons: Deleting tickers by accident, advanced charts are less user-friendly than they were, and things are much harder to find. Cash is held for sales on stocks until the next business day. TipRanks should be removed from the news as it's unreadable. Use more free articles.
Downloaded the app about a year ago and thought it was pretty cool. Got a free stock and started out small. I liked how easy it was to buy stock and put in more and more money over time. Got a huge variety of stocks. Problem was when some of them jumped up in price and I tried to sell it would just say there was an error and wouldn't let me sell until they went back down in price, cutting into my profit. Absolutely disgusting. Lost my business for good.
I heard so many great things about Robinhood but I am quite frankly disappointed!!! Last week couldn't access my account for several days. After I finally got that issue rectified, I added another checking account but I cannot verify the account because they have yet to send funds to my account. I closed another app because I wanted the option of buying and trading. This will be a short lived relationship! #customerservicematters
Have used robinhood for a few years, has been good to me for the most part. I have had 1 issue which has not been resolved and that is when I bought into a stock I was "pending" which I then proceeded to cancel about 20 minutes later when it still wouldn't go through. Then, out of the blue.. it proceeded to go through without notifying me at all. I lost $20 over the hour. Not a large sum of money, but after notifying me about it being cancelled and then somehow going through. Not okay..
This app is a pos. Has been a pos for years. It's free trading. But they sell your orders to High frequency traders. The execution of trades is disgusting you'll never get the price you actually want you always got to pay a dollar over. Sometimes you'll put a market order out and it won't go through. They'll tell you the price fluctuates fast and blah blah blah. But I'm watching the level 2 on another platform and the order won't go through it all. They do nothing right but take your money.
The stock prices are delayed by at least 15 minutes... I could go on and on but Robinhood removing the most popular stocks tab option is the last straw for me! So I removed (transferred) my money out! The app was a good idea when it came out and still is for these young guns that came out with it $$ for them. Take my advice please and go with one of the other free trading apps, good luck!!
It's okay for beginner stock and options trading. In the last 6 months there have been some pretty major outages. Including the the biggest trading day in some time and the only recompense for the outage was an apology that the system didn't work... then it went out again. Or the system doesn't display pricing properly. Trade her but go for the long game. Not reliable for day trading.
Most ironically named app ever. When you see a stock going up you want to buy quickly so you don't overpay. When you see a stock dropping you want to sell so you don't lose too much. Robinhood takes so long to make a transaction that you end up paying/losing twice as much as you should. Now that they're actively preventing people from making I say good riddance. But good luck deactivating. They don't let you do that either.
Good for trading, up till they decide who you can buy and sell from. Woke up this morning and certain stocks(gamestop) weren't available for purchase anymore. If I don't have the freedom to spend 400 on a stock whenever I want, what's the point? Wall Street can buy, but we, the regular people can't? Edit: oh, several thousand negative reviews were deleted here. Very cool as well.
No chance I'm going to use a broker that has shown they'll restrict my trading at any point. Can't trust that they won't freeze my stocks again. Also there's "High volume" issues almost every morning, that cause delay in filling orders. Tried to cancel an order and was waiting for an hour to see if it went through or not, this is a regular thing.
