Aaaaggghhhhhh! I really like this little vacuum, and it works well. But about every third time I use it I have to reconnect, and then sometimes when the app updates I have to log in again (who remembers a vacuum password, which isn't auto saved?) and also reconnect. It's a little bit like having to assemble a regular vacuum every time I use it.
I really liked the vacuum and app at first. The mapping feature is cool. I like that you can put no-go zones, mark carpet areas, etc. However, after using it a few days I came home and it was disconnected from the network. It took me 30 minutes to reconnect and pair through my network to the app. it was very frustrating. A few weeks later I didn't use it for a day. Then an update came out and suddenly it lost the map of my house. Now when I try to reprogram the no-go zones it cuts off the map
I've loved my Qrevo since day 1, but immediately after updating the app, it became a very expensive brick. It changed my cleaning routine just enough to get nothing clean, then it stopped working mid-mop cycle. It says it has a lidar jam, but the lidar spins freely... however, the wheels won't move. Now I can't get it to recognize that it's been put (manually) on the dock, so I can't empty the very full onboard water bin.
I used to love this app, and the product itself is fantastic. The issue is that recently it is sending constant notifications that the vacuum is low on battery and needs to charge, but it's fully charged and on the charger. I'm not sure what happened or why it's doing this. I even changed notification settings and it's still sending constant pop ups to charge it. It's extremely annoying.
The app worked great for about the first year I've had it. Now within the last couple months, it occasionally says either the vacuum is offline, or it takes forever to get a connection or load the maps. My router and Wi-Fi are fine, shows a great connection on my router app. Definitely seems to be an issue on the Roborock side. Very disappointed.
The app will notify me a dozen times in an hour while it's running that the dustbin hasn't been emptied in a while and to empty it ASAP. it doesn't matter if I have emptied it recently, it doesn't matter if it's actually full. there's also no way to turn off these notifications without turning off all notifications from the robot entirely.
I have had Roomba's, Sharks, and Eufy robots... My Roborock is better than any of them. The app is extremely user friendly and informative. It was super easy to setup the map and add no go zones to prevent the robot from getting stuck and it even recommended a no go zone after the robot got stuck under a small lamp stand twice in a row. I highly recommend both the app and the vacuum.
EDIT: Can't help but notice you haven't addressed WHY THIS APP IS ASKING FOR ROOT PERMISSIONS EVERY TIME IT RUNS? AND NO ONE FROM EMAIL SUPPORT HAS EVER RESPONDED. REVIEW: May be over-complicated, but works. Took far too long to realize saving favorite routines is "outside" of the vacuums settings. You go "into" the vacuum to get the big Play button and run it. If you want to save a routine it's BEFORE you choose the vacuum, and isn't clearly labeled.
Worked flawlessly for years until the latest update. Map takes forever to load and then freezes. Scheduled cleanings continue to run, but I am unable to do anything ad hoc. Wifi signal is strong and units are connected fine. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling, clearing cache / storage, rebooting phone, rebooting into safe mode... nothing works. I have two units and the issue persists for both. Extremely frustrating. UPDATE - Latest app updated corrected the issue. Works beautifully again.
This app is a pain in the butt to get working but comes with great tech support that is easy to reach by phone or email and that provides clear step by step instructions. I had to change my freaking IP address for the app to connect. that was a journey. However, the robot works just fine without the app, so it's still a huge improvement over Roombas, which don't work without the app. Still, please fix it so I don't have to ever mess with my IP address again.
Overall, it's good but with one glaring flaw. It will not let you send it back to the dock to empty, either manually or on a schedule. Defeats half the purpose of an auto empty bin. Oddly, you can control how often it cleans the mop. Why can't they do that for emptying the vacuum? Edit: Just found out that if you manually tell it to empty too often, it will refuse stating "dust bin emptied too often, try again later." I did not pay hundreds of dollars to be told how not to use my device.
I've had it for a few days now and so far I'm impressed. Particularly at this price point. It just finished it's first mopping. Tile kitchen and hardwood floors. There were a couple spots, I could see, on the hardwood that were cleaned and a couple that it didn't. They look like water spots. The app is great. Almost every option available. I'll update this after more usage.
So close to being perfect. Unfortunately, drawing lines to separate rooms can be frustrating, as the app is very picky about where you can draw the lines and it can feel like trial and error trying to get it to work. Also, if the robot sees through a window or a glass door it will add what it sees to the map even if it's inaccessible or outdoors and there's no way to remove these regions. Great app overall, though.
Used to be better. Lately for the past 6 mos or so it hasn't wanted to connect to the Internet even though our Internet didn't change. It just suddenly didn't work. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled, relogged in, reset wifi, and it still won't connect. It also doesn't pick up well, even with new brushes and cleaned sensors. It was just above mediocre when it was new and now a couple years later it's not worth the electricity it takes to charge it. Disappointing
This app chugs so hard. Every tap requires a loading screen. It frequently disconnects. We have fiber and a WiFi net so it's not us. There are a lot of terms used in the app that are either vague or don't fully explain. The online manual doesn't help either. Half the time I can't read what the little ai bubble is trying to tell me because it's cut off. It refuses to connect and update the firmware. 2 stars because, there are a lot of settings and the UI is nice.
just set mine up as per instructions. the software seemed to hang up. finished the explore run. it didn't finish the map correctly and stopped 6 inches short of the charging station. I put it on the dock to charge. I had set up a schedule, this am it ran a little and stopped 1 foot off to the side of the charging station until it ran out of juice I think it may have to go back. very disappointed ☹️
I have a partially assembled device in the middle of the front room floor Creating an account should not be the hard part The app is in an infinite loop when it attempts to create an account. It requests an email address which is entered, then a code which is sent to the email and entered. The only choice to move on is to enter your phone number and get a code. I enter the code and then the o nly acceptable choice is to reenter the email, repeat, repeat no way to get out.
I can't believe that this is the best they can do. It does not save maps. Editing maps are ridiculous. Scheduling also is very inconsistent and doesn't work. I tried to set a schedule for each room when I wanted it to clean but nothing saved. I have never had an app with so many problems. Not saving schedules, maps after all the trouble to set up, click save, then next day gone :( Another thing worrisome there's no registering this product. all the money spent on this but no registration?
The newest update messed several things up. The vacuum has trouble knowing which room it's in and will go clean parts of another room instead. It's getting stuck on things it never got stuck on before and getting lost in the middle of the room. Update- today it got lost in the middle of the room "unable to reach target" and then returned to dock, except it failed positioning several times and couldn't find the dock and tried to create a new map, and still couldn't find the dock. It hasn't moved.
Within the first time of use it already didn't get the right map and directions for cleaning, getting an error that is doesn't know where it's at, and the in-app map shows he is in different room than he actually is, so have to reset the whole map again and again, just not good, delete and close the production if it can't do basically anything... (Update) still no fix, still gets lost everytime it is turned on, it doesn't even see where the deck is... The devs will see hell one day for this...
