Technically it works, but not well. The tracking tab is slow to load and often fails. The list of parcels is not in any logical order, with items delivered weeks ago at the top above parcels in transit. In the last couple of weeks it's also started duplicating in-transit parcels in the list, which is not helpful. This app obviously doesn't go through any testing before updates, it's a joke.
Terrible app. Takes ages to load up (I have games on my phone which load faster), tracking page usually gives me an "internal server error" notification 3 or 4 times before it shows me my items and then even more when I selected the item I want to check. If I'd had the option to use another service, I would have. Royal Mail are overpriced and unreliable, completely undeserving of the moniker bestowed on them by the monarchy. They should be forced to remove the "Royal" from their name.
ETA: Well it's now 4.5 years later and this app is as shambolic as ever! Totally inaccessible 95% of the time, tracking is always glitching and virtually every attempt to log on or track a parcel results in a childish "oops something's gone wrong". Easily one of the worst apps I've ever encountered. App crashes every few seconds. Takes payment for click and drop but crashes when trying to access and print purchased labels. Royal Mail refuse to accept there's any issue. Totally useless app.
App has improved since the login issues. Now it can actually be used. However, the tracking feature needs improvement. It's still slow and there's no logical sorting order. The only option to tidy up is delete. There should be an option to archive them as it will be useful in case of disputes for example, it's all in one place this way and easily accessible.

the worst app ive used. it either wont open, will open ans when logging in the spinning wheel of doom, then if you manage that it says not recognised and wont let you log in. the reason for the worst app is the frequency of these issues, many times a week. if youre that lucky to logging in your parcel can be anywhere on the list. it shows parcel ready for delivery that if you click in were delivered weeks ago, it doesnt update the list.
It used to be ok no It keeps failing. Sometimes it works for a few seconds and than if I try to track another parcel it says that there's a problem with their servers and it doesn't show my parcels to track. After it just doesn't show the tracking at all. It's very frustrating specially when they keep increasing the postage. It's very unreliable as people pay for the parcels to be tracked and they can't. Now it takes ages to open and when it finally does it doesn't work properly. Not good😞
It used to work quite well, but the last month or so an update has completely ruined the app. 1. I have to login every time I open the app now, and if I leave it open for too long I need to login again. 2. App freezing, when opening the app, trying to track a parcel or opening a link that "shortcuts" into the app. It happens so reliably with links that open the app, that I've stopped using them. 3. App crashing when viewing parcel tracking information. Absolutely bloody useless app now.
Dreadful. Apparently the app has been updated. Told I may have to log out and in again, which is a routine occurrence anyway. Tracked items now have no details of the sender. Not that it matters as it also no longer saves any tracked item history, so you have to input the tracking number every time. Trying to change delivery options logs you out and sends you back to the home page. An utter disgrace.
This app is utterly useless. It frequently tells me it cannot find the data for my packages. Contrary to what it says, the list of recently tracked items remains empty after I track a package, even when I can get the tracker to work, and when It does work, it is generally slow to update progress. Update: I have now uninstalled the app as it was most often refusing to log in, and on the rare occasion when that worked, it failed to retrieve data. Without the app, the website works ok, sometimes.
Probably the worst app I've ever used. 90% of the time can't log in because of "high demand". If I try to proceed as a guest it tells me there's a "server error". This app is totally useless when trying to track deliveries, so I have very little idea when parcel will arrive. Also have to agree with many other comments about the ridiculous pop up which appears every time I do manage to log in asking what I think of the app, WHY??
this used to work. it is now unusable. 1. Unable to connect because of high demand , 99 out of 100 tries. 2. No longer remembers tracking numbers, if you can actually login. 3. If you are ever able to login and track a parcel, how would you rate your experience, every time. I would give this -10 if I could. Do not bother trying this app, it is a complete waste of time.
Absolutely horrible app, constantly won't login to my account, end up having to clear the cache and force stop and even then sometimes it still doesn't login and I end up having to use the website instead. Also sorting of tracked items is terrible, it should be that the latest items are at the top of the list, but quite often it's just a random order, extremely frustrating. Doesn't matter how many updates they do, never actually fixes any of the apps problems.
Genuinely the worst app I am unfortunately forced to use. How can an app in which one of its primary uses is to track parcels just not do it? Constantly I am having to refresh over and over and over just for the items I'm tracking to show up. Then I click on one and it pops up with a prompt where it says it can't do that yet, and I have to press Try Again over and over and over, where it'll finally work. This has been going on for months, please fix your app.
This app used to work well, however, I can no longer login. "Sorry, an error occurred whilst processing your request". with a radio button to "Try again". I know there's no problem with my login details, but I reset my password anyway but am still faced with the same problem. The Royal Mail needs to get their act together, problems like this will only lose them customers.
The previous version was unusable because it was impossible to log in, then it was fixed. Now, it's broken again and you can't track anything so it tells you to use the website instead. Only, you can't because it detects that the app is installed and opens that, but you can't track anything! Utterly ridiculous and beyond rubbish. Sort it out FFS.
Some ridiculously obvious bugs. Right now, if you can even log in(!), you can't open an item in the Tracking section without being asked, "Enjoying our app?" every time. Parcels in the Tracking section keep randomly changing to "Recently added" when they've been there for days. The parcel tracking overview page says statuses are unknown, but opening it reveals the status is there and just isn't being passed to the tracking overview page. Seems to get more unusable with each update. Uninstall.
Like all the other recent reviews when you try to track an item or log in, all you get is the error message "Sorry, we're currently experiencing high demand. Please try again." I used to just press away at the retry button, and eventually I'd get in. Not any more, I can't log in and I can't track items. Unusable useless app.
this app is awful,it very rarely works,I'm trying to track an item,got to keep logging on and then either having difficulties and to try again later or now basically too many people using app can't get onto anything, keeps going back to logging in all the time ! Royal mail need to sort it out waste of time if I can't track my parcels! edit.. working fine next day ,when it works its good 👍edit 23rd July 2025. Once again not working, one of the worst apps ever !! 😠
can't choose options very well for delivery options, doesn't allow multiple options if not in, rather than posting a 'something for you' and returning to the delivery office. there seems to be no option to complain about a delivery not meeting the expected outcome of options or posting another 'something for you' card on the second attempt. useful app but could do with some updates on giving better help and options.
Don't bother wasting storage space with this app. When you try to log in it constantly says it can't due to high demand, then when you do happen to find a window you get 'oooops server error'. Rubbish garbage. Sums up Royal Mail really. It should be good but just doesn't look like they can be bothered to sort out the glitches
