Unable to Plan My Trip. does not allow time change for either 'Depart' nor 'Arrival' times. VERY frustrating to think I have to look at what the different transit schedules are in order to plan a trip or call. I even tried refreshing the app & making sure it has been upgraded. If there's a known issue with part of the app not working correctly, it would be nice if a 'notice' came up acknowledging it & that the IT crew was working on correcting it.
MyRide has gotten better over time. I think it's fairly easy to use and I don't usually have any issues purchasing or scanning my tickets on metro lines. My biggest aks would be to redo the trip planner and next ride pages. First, they are very similar to each other and don't provide much difference, second, the trip planner is a little difficult from a UI/UX perspective when you're a newbie on the app. Too many options and it needs to be simple.
Does what it says on the tin, I guess. The fact you can't buy single tickets is ridiculous, and most of the links on the main menu open as web pages rather than in-app. There aren't any alerts or information on where your bus or train is. It's literally just a way to buy day passes, which is okay for tourists, but if you actually plan on using RTD more than about once a month you're better off getting a MyRide card and using the Transit app for information.
Stupidest app ever. Very hard to use. Frequent referrals to browser defeats the purpose of having an app. Can't pay for parking on it, making it pretty easy to miss the train, especially at stations with large parking lot with few parking kiosks. There's no option to see what zones you need, so you're purchasing tickets blind, meaning you might not even be charged fairly. No maps on the app either. You can't add or change payment methods through the map. Aesthetic isn't bad.
Not user-friendly. You need to flag all the routes and times that are canceled on the schedules because it's difficult when you've got service alerts that make you navigate out of the app to the website to figure out what the alerts are. Also, if you're going to be canceling a huge section of the R line through October, you seriously need to add more trips on the other routes (H & E) to compensate. I've never heard of a train that only comes every 30 minutes; absolutely ridiculous.
Poor handling and policies of ticket purchases. Purchased tickets expire in 45 days. I received a message that my DIA bus ticket purchase failed due to some message exchange error, so I had to go through and redo the purchase. I was then charged for two $10 tickets (needing only one). The extra ticket now expires in 45 days, long before my next flight. There's no way to undo such a purchase or extend the expiration - just lousy policy and app behavior.
It's fine. It's an interface to their website wrapped up in an app. My only problem is that it doesn't keep my login details and every once in a while the app is unusable because I forgot my password.
The app keeps refunding my cards when I try to pay for tickets. I've tried three different cards and Google Pay with no luck.
It works good but the format is bad. Myride Barcode should be below the already purchased ticket, I have a monthly pass, the barcode take forever to load and throws all other elements down the page. This stalls me when I am scanning my pass for the bus driver, and makes everyone take longer to get on the bus. This app is good and convenient if you lose things, and helps expedite boarding. This app is not meant for travel planning or anything else like that.
Often just doesn't work for some reason. There are a lot of really cool things about this app, and I want it to work well because when it works it's great, but it can be infuriating to navigate and all of a sudden it just won't let me buy tickets with any card or anything at all, no issues with the balance or info on my end, and that's really busting up my day right now.
It used to work but now immediately crashes when launched. Same phone.
Not reliable. Only works 50 percent of the time. I have had so many error messages, and had it charge me twice for 1 ticket. I have had log in issues, and they somehow do not know what the error messages mean when you call for help. Let's get this improved please.
Even with all its explanations and Bug Fixes it still took me over an hour to pre plan a trip in advance for a day 3 days away on the calendar for my grand dad. I would nearly get where I wanted and the app would jump from showing me all available stops and times on a light rail route to only showing one station and all the times of the connecting train and no way to return to the full schedule and there weren't any instructions on how to fix. I just started over about 7 times. SO CONFUSING!
I should be able to log out and uninstal an app that is not in use and be able to downloaded it again on the same device with out issue. I can NOT do that. If you uninstal and then reinstall on the same device it will limit you on how often that can happen, it states that you have x amount of 3 times of doing switching devices, as the app states.
It is useful to have a ticket on my phone. Its really annoying how slow the app is. The bus drivers are sometimes rude because although I pull the app up as I see the bus approaching it can take 30 seconds to get my ticket to pull up. It would be better if when there is an active ticket if it would just hold it on that screen-all the time not just sometimes. Instead what happens is I push the app button wait about 10 seconds then hit the tickets button, wait again go to current tickets, wait some more and then finally my ticket appears. Today my bus driver asked ME to have some urgency. Like I'm able to make the app work any faster! Please fix this issues. Thanks
This used to be an easy way to simply buy tickets on your phone, no worries about a vending machine having a line or being functional. Plus, no all day tickets to misplace. Now it requires extra steps to 'charge' a separate account that you then use to buy the tickets. Why the extra hassle for something that was so straightforward and easy to use? You have eliminated the convenience that was my primary reason for using the app.
the only good thing about this app is you can buy a ticket in advance. other than that it sucks. all schedules are lies. trains and buses are never on time or never show at all. they will leave a stop way ahead of schedule. super unreliable. no wonder you can't get a job if rtd is your only mode of transportation.
This app worked okay, but is as cumbersome as these propriety transport apps always are, which made me hold the bus up a bit. I wish RTD fares would just work with regular contactless payment, like systems in most cities I travel around (New York, Sydney, London, Brisbane, etc.) which automatically honour daily and weekly fare caps. Apps like this are more confusing, less secure and less reliable. At the very least, go with the Google Maps one, like the San Francisco Bay Area and Minneapolis do.
The app is great for buying and using tickets on an individual basis. You can purchase tickets with a data connectiin, and then you can use the tickets without one (so all you have to worry about is keeping your battery charged). I would like to see an update that allows you to send tickets to other ppl. It would be a huge plus for parents; or even to just quicjly help a friend in a bind
This app was very difficult to use and navigate if you've never taken public transportation. It doesn't make it easy for first time users at all. They expect everyone to know what the names of all the bus and light rail stops are and the prices. They have no price charts or anything indicating an estimated cost from point A to point B. It's very difficult to understand or use.
