Not great, IMO. I'm always experiencing difficulties pulling up all of our cameras or even 1 as I need to check. It's slow to bring up the images. Forget about being able to speak and or hear on a consistent basis pressing the buttons. I've upgraded my phone,ear buds, no better without them. Maybe it could be streamlined. It presents as archaic, slow and temperamental. Hopefully there will be a positive update.My hubby speaks "tech" better than I do. I'll have him leave a review too. Thanks
The audio doesn't work and hasn't since I bought them but I can deal with that. Here lately it drops the video feed a lot don't know what's going on with that it's not the Internet because the base is sitting right beside the wifi box. Harbor Freight has discontinued carrying the brand and I believe that I am finding out why now. If it would stop losing the video feed would be great because I did/do like them even though the audio never worked at all. It would be nice to have what I paid for.
As mentioned, the newest update gave me the "closed connect" error and I could not view anything. At first I thought it was my router or cable, I tried to switch ports/cable and nothing worked. I was on the verge of switching systems but something told me to check the software. I noticed it was recently updated so I deleted the app and installed the previous version and everything came back. So it's something with the update that is creating issues.
Works pretty good and does what I need out to but ... ...has way too many false notifications. Not intuitive to set up recording and movement detection schedules. Doesn't always work on WIFI and have to restart the app. when switching from WIFI to cellular service. Cannot set the default resolution to HD, defaults to a lower resolution. uses a lot of battery it is my top battery using app. every day, whether i use it or not.
I have been using these cameras, and app for months now, and never once have i gotten a "streaming feed"... Everything jumps time, and isnt a reliable security solution due to the lapses in time and feed. Sometimes the video jumps 5 seconds, other times 30 seconds. People are there, then just vanish the next time theres an available feed. I understand there should be a minor delay due to wifi transfer, and processing the feed itself. But that shouldnt eliminate the view on the timeline entirely.
11/24/22 Now everything works perfectly and has for several months. I do not ever update the app. 5/31/22 With the latest update, I get the same Connect Close error others are getting. Not working at all on app. Uninstalled, reinstalled many times with no luck so far. Only complaint is that you can't view the cameras on the app when not connected to the same wifi (away from home).
I have a Cobra 8-channel system set up on this app. Everything thing works fine on a BB Key One when I'm on my home wifi network that the system is hardlined to. The minute I go out of range and onto my cellular data I loose signal and picture. No one has been able to offer a solution. Harbor Freight advised to turn off wifi on my phone, but that doesn't work either, even when I have a strong cell signal. Has anyone worked out this bug for viewing the cams when on regular network cell service? I'm still waiting for a reply from the app developer.
Needs work... agree with Caleb. The notifications just really aren't there, and they don't catch everything. When I want it to record data, it doesn't, but it tries. It leaves a date & time stamp, but I have to clear my notifications if it gets over 62 notifications. It gets a 3 star and needs work. Freezes, sometimes when loading up from previously saved full day videos. But it does a good job recording on playbacks and taking pictures. The HD setting comes in handy when trying to identify..
Update* system is now able to connect with the mobile app. Worked well for over a year until recently the mobile app will not connect. An error of "connect close" is displayed. Being able to view our cameras remotely on our phones was a main selling point, never would have bought the system without it. Have emailed the "help" email and havent heard back. If this isint resolved soon we're taking this to the back yard and going office space on it.
Constantly goes offline and can't view cams. If I'm on the same network as the dvr, views fine. But as soon as I'm out of range, it goes offline and I can't view anything. I need to be able to view my cams when I'm away. Can't do that with this app. Used to be able to view them from anywhere, but something changed. Also, would be nice if we could DL the app on a smart tv, firestick or laptop and not just on a phone. Sometimes a larger screen would be helpful.
App frequently drops signals. I would have given a better rating otherwise. It takes up too much of my tech time troubleshooting its issues. Keeps dropping the camera signals then you fiddle with it,,it returns. 01.16.2021 there is no update available since my post last October. I bought this system again to give it a second chance. Once it is configured the first time it plays nice. But if you unplug things and change position of things the software gets buggy. Network connection is unstable!
It has high quality video; adjustable zones for motion; and a variety of playback settings. However, you are unable to access video, away from home, without wifi. I have mobile data for a reason. What's the point of a security system that can't be seen unless your phone is home or connected to wifi? Additionally, the set up is less than "user friendly," email set up is a joke, and the video log on notifications will only do 24 hour time; even though 12 hour has been selected.
I am updating my review from last year. I've discovered that the notification delay does appear to be on the Android side and I was able to correct it. I had to go to Settings - Apps - Special Access - Optimize battery usage and turn off for this app. This option is buried in the settings and not easy to find. Hope this helps someone. I'm on Android 10. Also, the other issue about not going back to video review page appears to be fixed. My rating goes from two stars to four. Overall, app works.
The first weird bug I found was that this app wouldn't connect unless my phone's WiFi was turned on, even if I was in an area with no wifi. Then, after the last update, it won't connect at all. Man, if only there were some way for us to see our camera feeds while away from home... If only.
At first I was not overly impressed. But for the most part the app does what I need. The biggest draw back is that if I get further than a block away from my shop I can't use the app. And I already know that the developer is going to blame this on my wifi however I have a "RING" device hooked up at my shop as well and I can access it using the exact same wifi as far as 120 miles from my shop. But as mentioned earlier this app is overall a pretty decent app.
Poor Connection. App always takes forever to load the DVR and cameras, then after viewing 1 or 2 it ends up just spinning and goes offline. Have to continuously exit and restart the app to view cameras again. Definitely not a WI-FI or network issue since I use other camera apps and they work perfectly with other systems on the same network connections. App definitely needs some serious reliability improvements
HORRIBLE! Reviewing recordings is almost impossible. The timeline starts at the oldest recording. You drag the timeline to advance it but every time you release it to grab the next section, the control line recedes and you have to bring it up again. Often it starts over when you bring it up again. It's an absolute nightmare just to get to the more recent section, much less review it for a specific event. Twice I've tried to document an event with screenshots and have been unsuccessful.
Not at all a user friendly app or security camera system. Camera's stop working and go into an alarm mode for no reason.
Keeps crashing! Can't actually use this app, Still hasn't been fixed for months! This app was great when i got my system, but soon after i couldn't even open it, and it says that developer needs to update.. that was months ago....update.. been deleting and re-downloading for 2 yrs. so seeing it hasn't been fixed. y?? this was the best system for your money, and WAS able to view away from home! originally posted in 2023,is now 2025..hopefully it works..update.. finally it works great again 12/25.
Significantly better than what I've come to expect from cheap security software. Update: The app is starting to act weird. Limited access users can connect fine, but the 'admin' user will only give a 'connection error' (or 'user name or password error' if the password is incorrect.
