Decent military fantasy story. Good if you like tactical gameplay and well-written battle scenes, but I found it lacking in emotional depth and ability to build relationships between the characters. There's a lot of interesting world building but so far not much heart. Still enjoyable enough that I bought the sequel and look forward to seeing how it will continue.

Boy, oh boy, do I love this game. The world had a phenomenal amount of depth and building and I felt incredibly immersed. Every single one of my decisions seemed to hold actual weight. I felt genuine anxiety over whether or not I'd made a good choice or not - and that is just some glorious writing. I also ended up restarting far too many times in hope of sparing the lives of my fictional soldiers. I got way too attached. You also can choose if you want to be a total sociopath or not! It's great.

This game was excellent when it came out, and still so when I picked it up years after, however, now it's really showing its age. While it does have good writing and a rich, detailed setting, it has many issues with how it presents it and how it handles information. I think we are commonly given far too little information to work with to make informed decisions (especially in the begining), and the way those decisions are framed is incredibly odd given what I now know as an avid years long fan.

It was interesting game. Basically i liked it because its about military strategy and its on kind of middle ages (though its fictional). If we keep aside banecasting etc from this story, then it definitely gives us the glimpse of napoleonic era. My only complaint is that sabres, guns and lords of infinity, all three games are really very expensive. U shd give a choice to FTP of watching ads instead of spending money. I will happily watch ads at the end of every chapter to unlock the next chapter

I can't say how many times I have replayed the story since I've had Sabres of Infinity over the last six months. Unlike every other intereactive novel I have, which usually becomes boring after the first play-through, this novel has kept me hooked. It has a depth to it that isn't just about warfare, it's about eveything around warfare and a deeper coverage of the psychological aspects of war. The writing is exceptional. You can be whatever kind of officer you care to be. I look forward to lords.

What can I say the game was good the lore was really expanded upon the characters well written and the writing is amazing your choices do matter the only reason why I gave it four stars is that I found it pretty short but I would say it's totally worth it for the second game i totally recommend it specially if your a fan of hosted games.

While it'd be smarter to have a preview, I have to say the sheer number of positive reviews is quite the motivating factor in purchasing this gem of a book. It is full of action and character, and it perfectly catches the tone of powder and blade warfare.

Amazing story, absolutely fantastic. a friend told me about it and I'm hooked. well written and fun to play. the choices are meaningful and interesting without becoming at all tedious. it is a one of a kind gem and if you are looking into it I highly recommend you take the plunge and purchase the game. you won't regret it. 10/10, one of a kind. I'm off to start book 2 right now!

I really really like this game but some of the decisions seem misleading. Example: me and elson got invited to the dukes reception and I can ask elson about it. 'Ask about reception' was the option. After I pick that option, all of a sudden, elson is like "did you forget already?!". No I absolutely didn't. The option 'ask about reception' which lead me to believe that I would ask about the reception, not look like I forgot. I absolutely did not forget, it was mentioned like 2 minutes ago.

This starts you exactly where you need to be and let's you drive through this world for good or ill. It's something that'll tickle your fancy if you're into military jargon and love non oppressive old English. Your choices tend to matter in ways you might not know, but I never felt like my choices we're useless, unless it was asking for an opinion. Otherwise I would highly recommend this if you're looking for a Choice of with actual Choice and substance to that choice.

Way too much reading with very little player/character choice. You could spend 30 minutes between segments of the story just reading before you are given any options to shape your character/story. Which after a time can become boring when you want to be able to make decisions/choices of your own. The story is good, but when you want to actually play the "game" it gets annoying after awhile.

A great narrative-driven game based on the height of gunpowder in a fictional version of the world. I like how the author went low magic on this one and lets the soldering aspects take precedent, as this is really what its all about. I would recommend this to any fans of choice games.

I feel that the warning about being limited to playing a male character should have been given before purchasing. I understand the reasoning as stated - but it was a disappointment not to have the option for me and so I refunded the game and returned it. I feel that even in a restrictive setting there could be ways to allow for this however and it was alienating.

10 years ago I was a self absorbed kid and I hated playing this game as a man because I was used to playing as a woman hence the bad review. After playing it in full recently I can see it is an incredible game with so much thought and detail put into the world building and characters. I still prefer to play as a woman (I am one lol), but I don't mind playing as a man in this game. One complaint, there was too much description and not enough choices at times, besides that it was incredible.

I enjoy this "interesting" portrayel of a imperialistic fantasy. It is very realistic. My problem is its not really a game. Due to the logic of how we customize our character experience, it only guides the player in the direction of one specific story. All other choices results in a bad outcome or consequence where as only a specific story course, is the "correct choice". Despite the excuses of a fixed player experience because story has to be "historically accurate", it's just a novel.

So far I've played through this one twice, just now finishing the second playthrough. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves a novel with proper description or one that describes life at war. Very well done.

I served 12 years in the navy and had 4 deployments of 6-10 months each. I played this story countless times and never grew tired of it. The sequel is amazing and I can't wait for lords of infinity.

Terrific game. Gritty detail, good characters (notably Cazarosta), and the author slips in some clever self-reference in the "sabres" speech. Challenging but fun to survive the cataclysmic battle at the end.

Engrossing from start to finish. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to pretty much anyone. Buying the sequel right now of it's out.

Much better than most "Choose your own adventure" stories via app form. I can't wait to continue my progress in its sequel, "Gins of Infinity"!
