The app is great overall however I wish that you had an option to "clip all" deals instead of having to individually select 500+ deals. I know I'm not the only person out there that clips everything, as it's just easier than going through and picking each item you are going to buy. It would be so awesome if you could please, please add a 'clip-all" option in order to clip all available deals at one time. I am asking, I am begging, I am pleading. Please. I will leave my one star review until then

freezes , constant updates, and technical issues. Upside it is convenient. Easy access to groceries. Downside, it says something is in stock. when it is not you have to type in the brand name OR Flips out . When searching for a specific item. Also the third party.

Horrible!! The app is often wrong about what is actually in the store. The app will say that an item is in stock, but it actually is not and customer service can't/won't help. Save your money and time and use another grocery store if possible. per the reply- did uninstall and reinstall, and called cs once and chatted via app (even showed the app showing what I was looking for and the app showing it in stock to the deli manager it was not in stock). Still having the same issues on 12/01! Fix it!

I have literally saved so much money by having this app. There are items you'll see in the store that are on sale, usually it's a sizable savings too!! So you "clip" the deal by scanning the barcode with the discounted price. It was a bit of a learning curve TBH. But as I've delved even deeper into the app, I'm finding incredible savings and perks. There's delivery available and even a pet club!!! Definitely worth checking this app out.

Love the Saving, Hate the Delivery If you are trying to save on groceries,available this app is great! The rewards system is wonderful since a good chunk of money spent goes towards gas. But the delivery aspect of this app is horrible. The shoppers always say "item not available," and then I go in-store and check, and there is an abundance of said item on the shelf. On top of that, the substitutions offered are nowhere close to the price range or included in the deals of the original item.

The last couple of months, when I click on "no substitutions," nothing happens (the app does not acknowledge my choice). Because of this, I get substitutions for items that I don't want substitutions for. I tried to explain this to customer service and they could not understand what I was explaining. I don't know if you have people from another country answering app questions, but I'd like someone who understands the problem and fixes it.

I like the service in theory. when it all works, it's great. negatives: app doesn't load certain items app doesn't actually add items to cart sometimes out of stocks are frequent post order. out of stocks after orders are placed can mess with deals/savings i.e. 4 for $5 If one is out of stock you pay full price no communication between app/store/driver, you have to do this substitutions are awful. don't always get all my groceries or sometimes get someone else's with my order (delivery issue)

Works great for savings. I am frustrated about the subsituations. I swear I declined a salad kit subsitue and I rather not have a salad until I can get what I want. Sometimes this app forces another subsitue request despite I said NO. I don't need a redo once I made up my mind. Otherwise, it's a helpful app for pickup orders since it takes me about 15 minutes or longer to get to the location. Also helpful to make a shopping list and use it to locate food faster this way. Average rate.

Really really good app for shopping at safeway. It's easy to find deals on most products and they're generous with their first time offers (that randomly come back again which is cool). Even if it didn't have amazing deals, I'd still use the app just to manage my shopping cart. I'm like never unsatisfied with their product quality as well.

Buggy as hell. List doesn't sync between app and website. Can't checkout via website; it keeps throwing a 'new version available, please reload' message even after cache/cookie delete and re-login. Couldn't search via website for, what, three weeks and had to use the app to fill cart. Feedback button's gone so you can only get support for delivery, not the software itself. In general it doesn't look like there's a project manager at all because every time I try to shop something's new is broken.

Safeway app is user friendly, makes shopping so easy. It also helps me cut down on impulse buying, so im able to manage my spending easily. The shopper contacts you if needed and you can make notes on particular items like no subs, acceptable subs or special instructions like how to slice your deli meats/cheese. The grocery delivery option is best! Always on time and they will put it right in your hands. Love having this option for getting groceries! Makes my life so much easier!

I like Safeway's app much better than the competing markets (like Fry's) in our area. Sadly, a recent update to the app (or to my phone? or to another app?) has crippled my app, in that, while it starts and I can view the weekly ad and deals, if I search for a specific product, the app switches to the search results page, and a wait cursor, but no results ever come back - just gray boxes waiting to be filled in the results data. A similar thing happens when I search from my home Win11 computer.

Love the the savings and the freshpass membership, but the app still needs work. Previously things that you added to the cart simply wouldn't go there, leaving you missing items from your order once you checked out. Now, an update to the cart page made it so that scrolling through the cart is causing accidental swipes that are deleting items. Also, if an instacart driver is used for delivery the delivery instructions from the app do not get sent to them.

update 2/14/26: It's still impossible to update the phone number on my account. I've updated the app, uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared the cache and the data, signed out and back in as suggested -MULTIPLE TIMES. When I enter the code to verify my number it says "Service problem, were having technical difficulties and working on fixing them. Please check back later" then either try again or dismiss, but it's still not working even after the latest update on 2/6. Please fix this!

like the app generally. recently with the changes, it happened so many times to me, that I accidentally swiped items away from my shopping cart. then you have to refind the article. it would be great if you could fix that. I also noticed over the years that the app often freezes and stops showing items but just looks as if its searching with no moving forward.

The last few days I haven't been able to search for anything. This app has always been pretty clunky when you're in the substitutions selection (you have to use it because it's hit or miss if you'll get your 1st choice) but it's pretty hard to go shopping on here when I can't look anything up. The savings are great w/ the app, I like shopping at Safeway, the food is fresh, and the people who work there are really nice when I go inside, but this app is terrible.

half the time I get an error message when I try to add a second item to my cart, and I haven't been able to use the app for Mobile orders in about a month. so in lieu of that I decided just to use it to speed up my shopping by finding the items that I want and picking them up in store, but now the app has stopped showing which aisle the items are in. So the app is pretty useless for me at this point. cool.

Used to be the best in the game. Now slower than Freddy's. I presume the app is designed to collect user data like your usage, search info, provide dynamic pricing, but... It's trying to do too much. Not good enough at tracking, collecting, and presumably providing suggestions for 4U Deals. It's starting to become borderline unusable. You can't collect user data if your users stop using the app. I'm getting closer every day to switching to in person shopping at the Trader Joe's and Freddy's.

Useful and it does help me save, but it's definitely gotten worse. I'll save deals on the app and they just won't compute at the register. Just won't show up. It used to be a lot better, but it's gotten so bad lately. Edit: I'm now having issues with delivery orders. The last several orders I've made have listed items as unavailable that are in stock in the store. In stock items are being left off my delivery orders, which defeats the point of a delivery order (and I paid extra for delivery).

I rarely have any issues at all with the app before getting to the cart and payment screens. Trying to scroll in the cart nearly always manages to remove something because swiping at all either left or right on an item removes it from the cart, and it's sensitive enough that it happens when I'm attempting to just scroll down. Also there are consistently issues with the payment screen when trying to pay to the point that I had to move to my laptop to place my order.
