Edit: one star for the bs AI response. It was 3 stars, but they didnt even a respond to my problem. In Thailand, the data keeps shutting off every 15 minutes and I have to restart my phone. Never seen anything like that before. Then on the last day of my trip it says I ran out of data when I clearly did not use it all up. Absolute garbage. only would recognize mmend if you have literally no other option.
Unfortunately it has been very unstable in my experience. I bought a packet because the price was good, but it didn't worked straight away. I fully troubleshoot it with their chat bot, then finally could chat with a person just to repeat the same process over and over email too. It worked once we figured that I was given the wrong network. Then it worked for a while and now I have connection issues almost daily. Very inconvenient so I'm sticking with Holafly. Expensive but reliable.
Beware! Useless waste of money. No way to get your money back. It didn't allow me to make phone calls, in any app, and after i paid $35 (or was it euro??) for unlimited data, it never even allowed me to send phone texts or use any app to send texts. It Did not allow me to use the Internet, with or without wifi. And yes, I "activated" it inside the country (Ireland). Customer service was useless. I ended up getting a 3 sim card once in the country, much cheaper and it worked!
Slow and unreliable. You need to be logged on to the app for your eSIM to be activated, so each time I arrived at a new country I would lose data connection, logged out of the app and forced to find another internet source just to log back on. Luckily, I was traveling with someone using a different service and would connect to their Hotspot to reconnect. When I was connected, it was slow. Customer service took too long to respond, and they "can't" offer refunds, instead offering app credit.
I purchased a sim for a trip to Costa Rica and was not able to get it to work. The connection worked about 5% of the time while we were driving, and cut out for the rest. Customer service was polite and led me through changing a bunch of settings but it didn't fix the issue. After a day of no service I switched over to the Airalo app, which worked right away. I asked for a refund but it was denied as I'd used 2% of my data plan (the limit is 1% I was told). Overall would not recommend.
Great idea but they used a very poorly represented cellular phone data company in the country (South Africa) . It did kinda work (a little) at slow speeds in some parts of some cities, but not most everywhere on the road. I couldn't squeeze out 10% of the 5gb data I bought over 3weeks. I ended up buying a local sim of a reputable and widely represented cell service which worked 100% better. I wanted to cancel or get help, but couldn't find a number to actually speak to someone within the app.
Easy to use, easy to install. But the coverage and service in Japan sucked. Slow speeds constantly. We travelled between Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Hiroshima over 3 weeks. The issues were persistent in cities and out of them, it made for a very annoying experience. Note that I tried restarting my phone multiple times as per troubleshooting, it made no difference. Edit: spent an hour with the live support, who were helpful, but ultimately there was no problem, they just provide a slow network
paid for a plan, then waited. After a couple of hours I contacted them informing them that the money had cleared the account but still no activation. I was told to wait a day, I waited and nothing. They claimed they didn't know what the problem was. I contacted my bank and filed a complaint, after a week the bank credited my account. Will never deal with this "company" again.
My initial experience of setting up the eSim card went smoothly, but, it has been anything but smooth since attempting to top it off. I inadvertently paid for 2 plans in attempt to add data to my card. Never got a confirmation email for the purchases. Only knew that they were pending because I contacted customer service. Update: Once the cards were processed customer service said they approved a refund for the extra eSim. I'll say that their customer service is quite responsive.
The customer service is fantastic. I've used the Saily service now in Amsterdam, Spain, and Morocco. The system hasn't been completely issue free, but Saily has more than made up for any issues with their amazing customer service. With 24 hours a day availability, when I've messaged with an agent through the troubleshooting page in the app, less than a minute from reaching out, I'm talking to a person. Service has been clear and helpful and resolved each time within a few moments.
I purchased a Canada eSim plan through Saily and they would not issue it because the transaction is "pending" on my credit card, even 12 hours after my original purchase. My CC is in good standing and has more than enough remaining credit to pay for the plan. They also claim that they can't cancel the purchase. Pending transactions can take multiple business days before they're finalized on a credit card, and I need the SIM now! Use Ubigi instead, they issued a eSIM immediately.
Absolute scam of an app. Purchased their unlimited plan on a trip to Italy only to find out data gets capped at 512Kbps after the first GB. Forget about streaming, or working, or doing zoom calls. I travel constantly and purchase eSims all the time, and this has been by far the worth experience I have had. False advertising and shady naming of their plans. Reached to support twice only to have them ready the legal agreement back to me w/o offering any solution.
Good for 1 country out of 3 on my trip. Broke as soon as I crossed the border and tried to change eSIM plans. I struggled with mobile settings, roaming, access point name configurations, etc. for 90 minutes before I gave up and bought an overpriced physical SIM at the train station. The new SIM works perfectly.
I have been testing the service in the US (10gb plan), and service is not very reliable. With 4gb remaining, I've had periods of no service, or really slow data connections. Also, while in a France, I realized eSim wasn't compatible with my device (previous phone, same model had eSim). Upon realizing, I contacted support and received no answer. This service is not sufficiently reliable if it's your only option at your given destination. Have a backup or use alternative.
When you don't run out of data, it works. I never got a warning that I was low on data and it just stopped, yet kept the 5 bars up. There needs to be better data plans. 1 GB is barely enough for 2 days! I didn't realize how little that was until I ran out. Wish I could add data without buying another plan just to have more data. In 2025, you need to have at least 100 GB of data for a week to upload everything. Also wish I could use any email cuz I don't have access to my Gmail
DO NOT get this app. It is definitely one of the worst esim apps. if you ever for any reason switch over your esim, once you switch back you can say goodbye to any data you had. and if you even do get it back, it will take you forever. I was out and needed to get transportation, and my data never got back on. I had to just walk back at midnight, thanks Saily.
Not a good experience. My wife and I tried to use Saily in Hungary and France. Neither Sim would work on her phone at all after following every troubleshooting effort provided. Mine only worked in France and it was very slow and constantly had to be turned on and off again to make it work. We both downloaded a competitor and it worked instantly on both phones. I recommend going with other providers.
Customer service is good and was always there to talk on wifi and quick to answer, but no matter what we did, I struggled with service while other eSIM companies with travelers I was with didn't have a problem. I ended up having to do the day plan with my provider in the States, doubleling what I was expecting to spend. I would NOT recommend it. For me it was a waste of money.
can't make calls or get texts through your regular channels. it does work with things like what's app, but that's when it actually works. the coverage was bad for both my wife and I. it mostly worked for Google maps while we were in Munich but not at all across the border in Austria. luckily there was Wi-Fi nearly everywhere. this app was a waste of money for us.
Easy to use & works great. Also, very impressed with their return policy. If you buy an ESIM but then not use it, you can 'return' it for refund/credit. I'd bought an ESIM for Morocco and then bought a 2nd because I thought I'd use more data. I ended up not using the 2nd one and Saily quickly approved the return and issued credit. Impressive customer service! Thank you Saily team.
