Here we go again. New app. New UI. Why so much white space in the list of transactions? I can only view 5, maybe 6, transactions. No option to compact the list. Viewing money in or out used to be a one tap thing. Now it's Filter. Select. Apply. Paying in a cheque hardly ever works. Mar 2025. List of transactions got worse. 25% of the screen devoted merely to transaction date & it disturbs scrolling as this panel appears & disappears. Jan 2026 - Paying in cheques STILL not working.

The old app was better, IMO. This one feels clunky and unnecessary clicking between screens to see what you used to see on one page. Also, the cheque scanning function is broken. If your fist attempt at scanning fails and you try to do it again, you get hit with a message that says something like "that didn't work." Options are "cancel or retry." Retry option puts you in a "that didn't work" loop. You have to exit the app and log in again to try and scan the cheque again. You can do better.

As many of the other comments on here, too much white space & unnecessary icons/animations, too little actual information. That said, it seems to do what i use it for without any issues. My main gripe, and this may seem like a very pedantic comment, but when opening the app you get a screen to input your 5 digit security number, but are unable to do so until after you have clicked/pressed on the very small 1st box of 5 (not the 2nd, not anywhere around it). Auto selection of box 1 I beg you :)

I had real problems logging in the first time. OTP codes just were not being sent. After maybe 10 attempts, OTP codes started to be received. Now the new app. I seem to have lost the facility to filter "in" "out" "all" on the account page. Not enough screen area is devoted to essential information. I wish I could have the old app back.

I can't get into it. It requires password, passcode, then photo of passport, then NFC scan of passport chip, then selfie to back it all up. Of course, it doesn't tell you what you're going to need at the outset, so you start with the codes then have to go back to the beginning when you find out you need your passport. Then you have to hold your passport down while you photograph it and the "smart" assistant rejects it 3 times. Finally, you need a selfie. That's when it crashes. Every time. Argh!

Having changed a savings account name (which was a bigger hassle than needed to be), I can no longer see my other accounts! (eventually got them back up - in the wrong order). No matter how many times I press the X to close the "Check out the latest offers" thing that appears on the home page, it keeps reappearing pretty much immediately. It's very annoying. what's the point in the X if it doesn't work?

The only reason I installed this app was to attempt to restore notifications to show that payments have gone in. I was disappointed when Santander ceased these notifications in May, but I wrongly thought that they could be reconfigured via the app - how wrong I was !!. Please restore those notifications ? Response - but they are not the messages I want. I am fed up with repeatedly accessing the app just to see when certain payments are in - it is important also for those who do NOT want an app.

Not fit for purpose in many respect, gives most of the information you need but the card payment verification system is very buggy and often just don't work until you've closed and reopened the app several times. The app regularly kicks be out 'for security reasons' after transferring between my own accounts. Add to that the inability to change the order of accounts/cards (why do I need the current accounts and debit cards to show individually unless something needs my attention anyway?)

It is genuinely concerning how badly this app runs. You would expect a banking app to work near perfectly but the amount of issues are worrying. It crashes all the time, even halfway through a transfer and when logging in. The fingerprint access doesn't work a lot of the time and it glitches out. When I am transferring money over the complete purchase button will be unclickable and I have close the app and reopen and check the money didn't actually go through. Please fix this app.

overall experience is ok, everything seems to work as it should, no sudden crashes. Although I'm very disappointed having been a customer since 2009 and the new version of the app has now been out and active for more or less 18 months you have not brought back the quick balance widget, you said this would be returned, if it's not going to be why not just say so please...

EDIT 100825 ~ Well, after (checks edit history) a YEAR and 4 months, the widget returns ('shortly' eh). Naturally it's ridiculously large, glowing white and the 'refresh' circular arrow works when it pleases, but yeah - we got there, eventually. As for the rest of the app: everything seems long winded, changing a payee reference process is just silly, and WHY are there accounts and their respective cards on the home screen?? Seriously, sub menus, Barclays and Nationwide can do it, why can't you?

A year after the update and the app is still terrible. Font is squished and appearing vertically in places, no quick balance widget, weirdly commas are now replaced with full stops (£1,000 now appears as £1.000) I've tried clearing the app cache, uninstalling & reinstalling, and it still doesn't fix anything. The app goes from bad to worse. The last one from last year had zero issues and this had been a year of problems and issues

Santander as a bank are good. But this App is Rubbish. Nobody asked for this update, yet here we are. It logs you out constantly for no reason and when you used to buy something and wanted to verify through the app it would appear in seconds. The last time it did actually work it took 90 minutes and I'd done the verification through a less secure method. This App is an actual embarrassment and I'd strongly urge santander to go back to the old one. But since they won't, you're stuck with it.

The notifications system is shockingly bad. SMS notifications were always late, and now they're gone. Account notifications are sparse. Also, what's the point of an account alert arriving one day (midweek) after a card has been added to a digital wallet? A classic old excuse from them was 'weekend banking closedown', really? Santander - look to the competition please.

Enjoy using this app. I find it easy to use & very useful. Well here we are almost 2 years after the last review and I'm not nappy with the app. My Money Manager doesn't appear to working. It keeps. telling me I have 2 unread insights but I haven't. Then there is a new feature of "fixing" a regular large payment. But no matter what I do, it pops up again when I log in. It's also telling me this payment is in $ not £. How can I be sure anything it's telling me is right if this isn't working?

Good all round app, but the cheque paying feature is dreadful, I've found it impossible to scan the cheque, no such issues with this in my Nat West App so ruling out user error Thanks for the reply, but I don't need a guide on how to do it, I just need it to work, move closer, center the cheque, move back further, hold still, sorry that didn't work is all I get, 3 of us have tried, we all get the same result.

App constantly jumps out of the typing boxes when trying to add a new payee, and when you do manage to fill it in it crashes and closes app. Have had to add payees via online banking for about a year now. Not fixed with a new phone or un/reinstalling app. Many parts of app are not user friendly or intuitively designed. Useless money manager features. I am looking to switch from this bank I've been with all my life just because the app is so useless!

The upload cheque facility on this app is atrocious. It used to work but hasn't for around 9 months. I have to drive 15 miles to pay the cheque in. Then a day later, I'll get a condescending email from Santander to say" Did you know, you can pay a cheque in on the app".....Yes I know. I'm well aware. But your app will not let me upload it, even though I've done everything you said. On a dark background. In good light. Staying ridiculously still. It still does not work. Do better, Santander.

STILL can't pay a cheque in with the app. constantly fails saying the image is no good even with a tripod and studio lighting. This has been happening for years. SORT IT OUT Edit: In response to the reply: How is that helpful? your app is useless. other people are saying it's useless, not just me. it's not the way I'm taking photos

If I go into the app it's fine. But then if I go into it again later in the day, I just get a white screen. If I force close the app, it then opens fine. So something needs to be done so it closes cleanly in the background as this is annoying.×××Update Thank you devs for your reply but it absolutely shouldn't be necessary for me to close every app on my device when existing your app. I'm surprised that you should suggest this. No other app requires this so I think you need to fix yours!
