Gave up on trying to use this app a few months ago. Initially worked well enough, then became a pain with two factor authentication, which would be fine if it didn't log me out automatically, but now I can't log in at all despite changing my password. I don't even bother trying when I go to IGA, it's just too annoying. I used to shop at IGA more often when they used Airmiles, but I end up going to Metro more often now since my rewards card actually works and both stores are overpriced anyway.
update 11 Sep 2025 This app gets even worse! Now they mandate you change your password before logging in, but the link to send the confirmation email is broken. So you can't log in or reset your password. Utter incompetence. Utterly useless app other than to show you your points totals. Want to load your grocery offers? Can't do that in the app. It links through to a webpage that won't recognise your login credentials.
So the rewards and rates are good BUT - If you call customer service - have an issue - missed points or anything - reaching them is - well next to impossible - voicemail says they are experiencing large amount of calls and it will be 30 minutes but leave your phone number and you wont loose your spot... 4.5 hours later... On-Line chat, bot is ok but when you need a person, Bot says "Thank you! Let me get you in touch with the next available agent." then nothing... no response?
Very slow to open. Which isnt helpful when you need to scan your Scene code and are stuck waiting 3 minutes for the app to open. And then when you get the app going, it logs you out every time you close it. Then asks for a code to get back in. So much wasted time. Shouldn't I just be able to open and use the app? Otherwise there is no difference with just using a website.
A few things they need to sort out with this app: 1. I mostly use my scene+ points for travel. So, requiring the app to have 2-step verification and cell reception is dumb, when I'm keeping my phone in airplane mode to avoid roaming charges in foreign countries. 2. I can't leave reviews on the Expedia site for hotels I stayed in because somehow scene+ and Expedia aren't linked in a way to allow that. 3. I don't want to download different apps for partnered groceries and pharmacies.
Always have to relog and log in process is slow and heavy for some reason... thats when it is working fine. Most of time I let deals go and pay full price because it is way too long. One of scene's partner staff suggest clients to take a picture of the card instead using the app... So best alternative to make your app worth is not using it 🤷
App was awful when I reviewed it originally two years ago and now I can't even log in at all. It's forcing me to reset my password, but the password reset email never sends, so I just straight up can not log in to the app. And the app uses the website, so I can't use that either. It just doesn't work.
It made a typo when I entered the phone number. so, the app keeps sending a security code to that poor number and it does not allow me to switch to send the code to my email instead so I am not able to log in and no support number available in the app.
UPDATE: I can't even copy the URL you give for customer support. And the app now won't even send the email to change password. How do you get something so wrong that every other app does flawlessly? Hire better engineers. This app sucks. One of the worst apps for login. Won't save my credentials and after enabling the fingerprint login option it scans your finger print and then still takes you to the login page. I can never use this account because I can't get the app to stay logged in! Argh
You can time login with a calendar. That is when you can infact get it to work. Why does it need to log out everytime then send a confirmation number that fails several times. I took a screenshot of my card to bypass all the failed attempts. Utter garbage in this age. UPDATE: Not sure. but NONE of my purchases over the last two months have been registered. So you'd think that like using a physical card you wouldn't have to be logged in.... Who knows....
this app NEVER WORKS!! it always has errors or struggles with the simplest task of LOGGING IN! it forces you to wait a whole 2 minutes just to load to the home screen and ANOTHER just to get to my card! making everyone else in the line behind me wait! fix your horrible app, it's useless. I got more use out of it by logging in once to take a screenshot of my card and NEVER OPEN IT AGAIN than I did actually using the app. if I could rate 0 stars, I would.
I've been scanning this card ar freshco for over a year now and still have zero points so what's the point??? the app is such a pain to log into and then you have to login in again to load in every section. really poor user experience about to give up as there is zero point...
As of December 2025, the Window Wonderland event really ought to last longer than December 12 due to unforeseen circumstances. The rest still applies from my really old review, as follows: --- Since the name change to Scene Plus, both the website and the apps do not keep me logged in. Furthermore, depending on the device, tutorial pop-ups treat me like I'm visiting the site/app for the very first time.
Absolute garbage app. How can such a large company be completely incompetent while utilizing technology that's been around for years? Why is it easier and quicker to log into a banking app than it is to access reward points? Do yourself a favour and use your physical card, add it to your wallet, or take a picture of the barcode. You'll save time and frustration.
The log in process is way too time consuming, buggy, and complicated. It's so convoluted and takes so long that I run out of time and either have to give up or return to the back of the line and keep trying to log in. I could see extra security being a good idea for redeeming points, but I rarely actually get to collect points because I usually give up on logging in rather than making everyone behind me wait for 5 to 10 minutes while I try to log in.
My experience has not been good. Everything from their "product", the website and their help has not ended well. Their operational approach feels like a company that has no clue what is standard for this type of service and therefore they do not even come close in any respect. Like plucky toddlers at a sandcastle compitition imitating the pros thinking they are competitive.
its a pain to use. I'm always being logged out. When you're in line ready to pay only to find you're logged out and there is a long line behind you it is frustrating.
The app is awful, nearly impossible to actually find any deals and constantly logging out. The team behind this needs to do some critical self examination of what they're doing here.
Is there a worse app? Can't sign in. Doesn't send the email to renew password. Even after approval, doesn't work. Literal garbage. I didnt know such a massive company could be so incompetent. WHEN ALMOST ALL THE REVIEWS ARE AWFUL, MAYBE TRY FIXING THE APP
Like the scene program, but the app is trash. It seems that they are so concerned about security, that you need about a full minute to sign in ( very unhelpful if you want to scan your card using the app while you are shopping). Oftentimes, it doesn't allow you to sign in using biometrics even though you have set this feature up.
