Horrendous, constantly doesn't allow payments to be added to the basket, leaving you unable to book. Often doesn't go to basket, some times you can't make multiple payments in one and no way to download an invoice for your payments, which are sometimes needed for UC. This isn't an easy app for booking things and so much could be done to make it better.
worst app ever. this app should not be allowed to process payments. payments are not confirmed, which results in double and even triple payments. no option to clear items from the cart.
Was fine for nearly 5 years, then a few months ago I changed to a new phone, it stopped sending me notifications when lunch money runs low. Ive checked the permissions etc on my apps settings and everything was off, I turned them on, it worked once, now doesn't (though permissions are still set to "allowed"). The app itself has no settings that I can find.
There are some UX issues in this app that really need addressing: 1. When I'm making a school lunch purchase, it treats all the days I've chosen a meal as one block booking that needs to be paid in its entirety. It won't just book it and take the money off what is already held one day at a time. 2. I can't empty the basket, unless I log out and log back in. 3. If I try to highlight a word in a message the highlight is the exact same colour as the speech bubble, meaning it's invisible.
Frustrating. Normal purchase systems work my selecting your choices and adding to a basket, then, go to your basket and edit or proceed to payment. This app (and website) seem to have a completely unfathomable way of trying to 'buy' things. For example, make a selection but then no way to add that to your basket, or even see it under payments. The terminology on pages is also really bad, it says add to basket (3 times) but then your basket is still empty.
Without a doubt the least user friendly app I've ever seen. The only way I managed to book a session was by apparently adding credit for a club, then using it for a booking? All by guesswork though!! The normal route of choosing a slot, adding it to a basket then checking out just doesn't work. Someone from the development team needs to try the workflow, it's completely confusing, not intuitive at all and really hard to actually book things. You got 1 star because I can't score zero
Not user friendly! Doesn't hold card details so you have to add them in every time you pay. It will remember details if you pay by transfer, but funds aren't taken from the account instantly. When you have multiple children you have to add to basket a payment for breakfast club, and after-school club, separately for each child! So instead of adding £100 and money being deducted from that, you have to add a payment for each child, for each club! It's time consuming and frankly, annoying.
Every now and then I can't book a lunch, because I'm getting a 503 error. And it's not like it's only for a brief moment, I wasn't able to pick a lunch during the weekend nor Monday morning, it starts working again around noon. Another annoying thing is when the view doesn't scroll to the current day if it's the weekend. 2 stars, because the app does actually work pretty often.
I am unable to recieve notifications, I have double checked all my settings and the phoned settings and they are all as they should be according to the help section. I have logged out and in and no change. Its been like this for 8mths after having it for nearly 6 yrs! (Two kids) Edited to add: It's the app itself that doesn't give me notifications or push notifications is that's the right term.
A few tweaks here and there would improve it. like making it more obvious how to remove something from your cart (you swipe it left... but that's 5 minutes of my life I'll not get back). Download all option on reports, also inputting card details multiple times a week is also a pain, although it will auto-fill most details on my phone it just feels a little cumbersome. Overall though it's a really good application covering pretty much everything you would want.
let's me add to basket when I select pay it just spins and never loads I've tried contacted them and they are no help
After the last update i cannot login into the account, even though i reinstalled the application. Before i was happy with it for i could always check it, but now is not working... It will be great if the developers could look into it. The message says " unfortunately, there has been a connection error. Please try again" - i have tried both mobile and wifi interner connections. The password is ok as i can connect on the computer.. Only the app on the mobile is not working..
allows booking of dinners but never adds them to basket, or note box does not render when booking after schools
One of the worst apps I have ever come across - cannot get notifications although have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked my phone settings - notifications on - I missed my child getting a certificate due to this issue. I'm so cross today that if I could rate you 0 I would. Also cannot book on clubs that my school run without going onto the website as they do not show in the app - you seriously need to look at these user issues!!!
Up until the new update it was ok to use...PayPal would be better option to use on it to pay instead of having to enter my bank details multiple times for each child I have...now I cant even top up, no options to pay, online says I no longer have a valid email...school has every thing right as ive already checked, really annoyed that both my children are showing that their account in now in debt!
Used this app fine for 5+ years and now all of a sudden the app won't open on my phone, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and now I've been logged out, each time I try to get back on I get an error message saying connection issue or unable to send code to your mobile. This needs sorting asap as I have 3 children in school who I use this app for.
It's ok, but the lack of low balance alerts (which everyone seems to ask for) is very frustrating as it results in children missing meals. We have to use the app, but given a choice I would find something else which doesn't lack such basic functionality.
The app is poorly designed and you only need a four digit PIN to login which is ridiculous seeing as it has information about your child. Worst of all it has an annoying flashing and on every page. Even the teachers are saying it's easier to go into the office and pay rather than try and use this app.
I never recieved notifications! The only way I can keep up to date is to remember to open the app daily to check if there is any posts from school. I've missed some important messages from school. I forced closed it, reinstalled it, my settings are put to "allow notifications". It is really frustrating to keep missing school newsletters with important dates on.
Useful but could be better. The web version allows you add payments together which is great if you have siblings or have multiple bills i.e. breakfast and lunch. The recent update said you can make multiple payments, well just tried it and it does not work. I suspect there must be a bug in the app if the update was to enable this action.
