Ordering is easy, but getting customer support in anyway is a hassle. I recently had my order sent to the wrong address. For some reason the system sent the driver to another address, while the address on the order was correct. When the same order was reordered the system showed the delivery to a house that wasn't the correct address. Reaching support on the app is almost impossible and often slow. I had to switch to a desktop to get in contact with customer support.
I've used this app for years and let me tell you it would be really nice if there was a set standard for how ingredients are listed & the ability to filter out certain ones (at least common allergens) in any given restaurant's menu. I accept that sushi in AK is 80% shellfish, but there's no need to make the 20% shellfish free options so painfully aggravating to find.
Forced to create account to make order, no option to type in letters for unit number, order was canceled 5 min before it was supposed to arrive....so I had no time to order from a new place..... got a call from someone in India (not sure what they said cause I couldn't understand them).. they are refunding my payment in 5 days and gave me a $7 credit on their app that I will never use again.
Not only does it cost, on average, $20-30% more than other apps but it now displays full-page ads, in addition to all other ads and unwelcome offers it shows on every single page. It used to be easy to talk to someone when yet another delivery person who doesn't speak English messed up your order but now it takes so long that I don't bother. The search feature is still broken, showing you everything but the item you're searching for, incl. the ads. Might just be the worst app/service ever!
No option to check out as a guest. I was in a rush to place an order and had to make a new account and verify the email. Then when I thought I was ready to place the order and had entered all my items it just tells me "you don't have enough budget for this order". Nowhere else on that screen does it show where I can put a credit card in or do anything to increase my budget. There's a payment info section, but all that shows is a promo code section. Frustrating and non-intuitive.
Seamless is pretty terrible. You will end up paying double what you would if you picked up. Most restaurants are horrible at delivery; they take forever, your food is cold and often incorrect, and sometimes it NEVER COMES. Imagine waiting for hours for food only to find out the order has been cancelled! But worst of all, is how expensive the app is.
Logs me out after every use of the app. Annoying. Asks for a review after each use even though I've already reviewed it. Its a bad app. Somehow it has a monopoly on food delivery even though its buggy with ridiculous fees. That's the review. Now and always Displays lots of restaurants that are either closed or don't deliver to my location. Let's me get thru the order process only to tell me I can't buy from them at the very end. Perhaps if a place isn't available, don't display it as available
This app has had its ups and downs, but lately someone had the bright idea to completely eliminate customer service. Now if you order a meal and the restaurant messes up and sends you someone else's order you no longer get a full refund. You only get a partial. That's right you sit there with no meal, waiting 3-5 business days for a refund that only covers half your order. Might as well throw money out your window. The new system is fully automated so if your option isn't there. Too bad. 👎 👎
Not great. They'll quote you a delivery time, and once the upper bound is passed, you check the app, and they've just moved the delivery window back 40 minutes. You order is supposed to arrive in 35 minutes, but actually takes 90 minutes with no notification of the change. Seamless is only for people who aren't hungry when they place the order. Previous: Real good. Didn't get my food one night, was refunded no problem as soon as I emailed them the next day. great customer service
I use this app when working in Port Arthur, TX. I work long 12-hour shifts and prefer to have my food delivered. Seamless and Grubhub both are extremely inconsistent when showing which restaurants are available for delivery, even when most of those same restaurants will pop up when you select pickup. Sometimes, if you refresh enough times, restaurants will pop back up in the delivery options. Otherwise, you're just plain out of luck. Very frustrating to use.
Encourage restaurants to give more details about dishes, especially concerning portion sizes. Improve your filters. One of them should be a filter based on payment types accepted by the restaurants. Sorting through restaurants could be improved as well. Edit: In 2 years, none of these things have happened. Also, I hate needing to go through a bunch of restaurants that aren't open. Make a filter. And don't cancel orders 5 minutes before the expected delivery time.
Used to be great but the last many orders have all been late and cold because Seamless can't find enough drivers in my area to pick up orders. Every time this happens, the delivery estimates just keep getting pushed back and there's no explanation in the app. You also aren't allowed to cancel the order through the app, which is horrible. You have to wait forever on hold or wait forever for some chat bot, explain things 3 times, and all of this while you're hungry. What happened to this app??
Hides delivery fees and won't correctly sort by them. I'm not paying 6.99 for delivery. Making me click through 20 restaurants charging that and more is an irritating waste of my time. ==Update 2020== I didn't think it could possibly get any worse and yet.. Now I can't even click on a restaurant to find out what the fee is. I need to order something and look if the fee is acceptable then go back and actually order. I also can no longer filter by open now. WHY DO YOU HATE YOUR USERS
Dropping my rating temporarily. I am perplexed why there is no option to save restaurants that I want to try later. I might browse 30 places and find 5 that I like, but there is no way to remind myself to check certain places out later. I can only order from 1 per night and you capture my favorites, let me build my own wishlist based on interests.
They don't let you cancel orders. I tried to cancel an order literally as soon as I ordered it and I was not allowed to cancel it. Their service fees and delivery fees are also way more pricey than GrubHub, Doordash, and Postmates. We tried this service because they had a favorite place of ours. We won't be using it again. It's too expensive and not being able to cancel is ridiculous. Eventually they refunded the service fee which was something, but we are going back to the other services
I used this app for 2 years, and i've noticed the decline in quality ever since the last update. On numerous occasions I have place to my order, and the driver takes forever to get to its destination. I paid 4 for orders at one point, and it never got delivered. They kept moving the times to later times, until inevitably it never came. I must say, I am truly disappointed by this lack of service.
I only ordered through this service twice. The first time I applied a discount for a first time user, my food never arrived and while my money was eventually returned, I missed out on the discount. Fair enough. The second time I ordered, my estimated arrival time jumped an additional half an hour, arrived cold, and with one of only two items missing.
The OG food ordering app. Used to be the best of the best. Sadly the service has deteriorated, marred by frequent confusion with the restaurant, as well as cancelled and delayed orders. Giving credits doesn't make up for not getting food, especially when there are so many alternatives with consistent service. I hope they step it back up!
Changing my review to give it one star. Filters used to be more flexible, but it seems they've intentionally made it harder to filter. Used to allow you to specify how many stars, $$, etc, and now you can only sort by ONE of these instead of filtering by as many as you want. I'll probably only order from restaurants i already know with this system. They also don't tell you delivery fee until check-out, which changes restaurant by restaurant.
Have used the app for a while. Didnt notice much at first, but over time I have come to hate this service (or lack thereof). Several times I have been left without receiving my food. When I am, little is done by their poor customer service representatives, with their insincere auto responses. I had referred several friends to the service but will instead will now be encouraging others not to use the service.
