For an initial release of an app that has OCR, color detection, people count and description, scene description, and more, very impressive! One break or make test of an OCR app is out of focus text that isn't perfectly straight. Holding a bag of candies and scanning the ingredients, out of focus and not aligned, did quite well! Impressed and will be quite useful for those with limited vision or aging eyes. Definitely fast enough to be used besides magnifying glasses. Fun, fast, useful!
Thanks for the app! Wishlist for future versions: don't lock text recognition language to the device's system, allow for several packs to be downloaded and switching between languages in-app; ideally, make AI recognize the language used in scanned text and switch automatically or warn that the text's language doesn't match any installed pack. An integration with a translation service would be another step forward.
This is an amazing app which I was using, but recently I'm not able to open the app and use it. My device is Motorola e7 power, Android 10 with screen reader TalkBack 16.1 which was recently updated. Can you please address the problem and suggest if it's not compatible with versions of the device and software used.
used to work really well but these days I cannot get it to read a document, I keep getting something went wrong message every single time!! it will read basic thing just by pointing but it's virtually impossible to hold phone still for tge full duration of a letter and as soon as phone moves it starts from the beginning again. shame as I used to like this app but I've been using envision app for documents as its actually reliable
I'm using a Samsung Ultra 25 and have tried to use the app install and reinstall multiple times. it won't shut up. and it's using a language model that my phone doesn't use, annoying high pitch and all of the speech controls are grayed out. I spent an hour trying to disable the talk back portion of it, verifying my phone talk back (which uses a viable speech model) was off.
Just as good as it's iOS counterpart. If you want to tell anybody about the app, be sure to let them know that it's mistakenly all one word as listed in the Play store. On the website, however, it is two words so that made it very, very difficult to find in the Play store. Really great app, though. Very snappy and responsive.
I can't find the "browse photos" button..... I was hoping to use this app to read out documents/texts already on my phone, but I can't figure out how to do that! Then I thought I might take a screen shot of my Messages and have that read out to me.... no. Also, there is no Help Site, so I am stuck! (Yes, there is help info, but it's very limited and has no search function. One star for now, but if the developers can instruct me I will give more
So great to see this fine app here on Android. Fills out the space nicely, as there aren't enough apps like it over here. I've had this on my other phone since it's release I believe, and this is to my knowledge the *only* app with a light detector in it. Great when you're in an unfamiliar place overnight, such as a hotel for a gig and want to make sure your room is as dark as you expect it to be... I find the short-text feature very satisfactory as well, just as much as it is elsewhere.
So far this is the best recognition app for android I have tried in the past. I would only want that the buttons you have on screen, to make them tabs that will be in one or two rows in the bottom of the screen, and the take a photo button on the middle of the screen. So the interface would be more intuitive. Also, please make an option in settings to toggle off the automatical use of some tabs, like colour detection. I don't want any detection until I am ready to point the phone.
I loved this app until the camera stopped working. The screen remains black for several seconds and then the flashlight comes on as if there isn't enough light in the room. I posted a Support request Twice And I've got no response. I later discovered Does this app opens on my cover screen But not in my open fold, I reported this to support Today Still waiting for a response.
This APP SwiftKey KEYBOARD JUST ERASED ALL MY ENTERED TEXT, AND DID NOTHING TO RETURN MY TEXT. ALL TEXT LOST. THANKS MICROSOFT FOR NOT CARING ENOUGH TO MAKE TEXT I COMPOSE TO REMAIN COMPOSED UNLESS I UN-COMPOSE. SEEING AI ALSO FAILED, AND NEEDS A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT. CAN'T READ LABELS, AND THE Camera needs to be used with less brightness, so the APP might work better.
The apps functionality has to be improved. when I try to get a pdf described, the app always crashes for the first time. if i open it the second time, it manages to describe the same. When i try to share a bit larhge file, the app always crashes. It has not described in the case of large pdf documents
I really love this app.I am hopeful that the features available when using this app on iPhone, which are not currently available on Android, such as: Indore navigation, world, will also be available on Android soon. It would have been easier if Nepali language was also included in Language. for us
Dear Microsoft Team,I am a regular user of the Seeing AI app and find it to be a very useful tool for visually impaired individuals. I appreciate the efforts of the developers of this app.I would like to make a request. I would like you to add some new features to the app that could make it even more useful.Navigation Mode: In this mode, the app could provide voice-guided directions to the user, such as "Turn left," "Go straight," etc. This would make it much easier for visually impaired people
uninstalling because Image descriptions are less than 10% accurate. They often show what is not in the image and miss details present in the image. Descriptions are often imaginative and inaccurate. I don't recommend visually impaired users relying on this app's image descriptions. Also developer has not been releasing regular updates. Yet no any suggestion has been implemented whatever suggestions we have provided.
WORTHLESS! At fist it was only the short text that started reading gibberish, but after it getting worse and worse, now even the document function is reading gibberish. The document reader had been the best part...not anymore. Raven the monetary reader is problematic. How do you read nonsensical words when it's only supposed to read NUMBERS? Hey, Microsoft. DO BETTER!
Great app and it could really help people, but seems a bit old at least with the interface, and the AI could probably still be improved, but so far it's really cool.
Another great app from Microsoft, that will propell us into the future and allow blind people to be self sufficient in there daily lives and self reliant. In addition, seems like a good app for law enforcement to use in identifying people and rouge a.i. and people, places and things in there fight against crime and etc.
The video description is very impressive for me though I experienced errors on the first attempt and it took more or less 5 minutes to process. Hope there is an option also to change the language. Say, if I would like the description to be in Filipino. Thank you very much.
Amazing! So much potential to improve the lives of countless individuals. There's just so much going on here. I LOVE the way it takes what I see as an ugly depressing scene and describes it in such a beautiful way. It's like the AI sees the physical world in its most true, raw, natural form, without the painful memories, without the longing, without the bias and the negativity. It just SEES everything how I wish I could see it. This is helping me be a more positive person! So much potential❤️🩹
